FC 25 Team of The Week 6 Predictions

By Aaron
21-Oct-24 11:54

Back to domestic football now as we look to build upon the 15 correct from last week. It’s arguably looking like the worst side of the year, with the standout options being another Harry Kane, Lauren Hemp, and the pacey Diaby.

Chiamaka Nnadozie - GK - 85 > 86 OVR

Seven saves and clean sheet  /  Paris (W) 0 - Lyon (W) 0  /  9.1 Sofascore Rating

It’s rare for Lyon to drop points domestically, especially against anyone other than PSG, but Paris managed to hold them to a 0-0 draw this weekend. This was largely thanks to the heroics of Nnadozie, who made several crucial saves to keep the score level.

Willi Orban - CB - 83 > 85 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Mainz 0 - Leipzig 2  /  1 Kicker Rating

With the pace boosts given to slower players on IF cards, Orban is likely to become a much more usable option. His IF seems inevitable after earning a perfect 1-match rating from Kicker for his goal in Leipzig's 2-0 win.

Abby Dahlkemper - CB - 80 > 83 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Bay FC 1 - NC Courage 0  /  7.7 Sofascore Rating

Female options continue to be included regularly, with at least one player from each of the main leagues seeming to meet a minimum quota. Dahlkemper could provide a much-needed defensive upgrade for NWSL teams after scoring the only goal in Bay FC's 1-0 home win.

Mitchell Weiser - RB - 77 > 81 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Wolfsburg 2 - Werder Bremen 4  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

With the RWB role being removed this year it’s a gray area for those who play the position in terms of TOTW eligibility. Weiser is one of those with EA classing him as a RB via his NIF I am punting the same for the IF. Weiser recorded both a goal and an assist to pick up a 1.5 from Kicker.

Lauren Hemp - LW - 86 > 87 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Man City (W) 2 - Aston Villa (W) 1  /  10 Sofascore Rating

Hemp isn't as popular in this year's edition of the game after losing her whipped pass+ status, but could we see that return with an IF likely around the corner? It's definitely possible. At the very least, Hemp should receive the IF after delivering both a goal and an assist in City's 2-1 win over Villa.

Svenja Huth - CM - 85 > 86 OVR

Two assists  /  Essen (W) 0 - Wolfsburg (W) 2  /  8.8 Sofascore Rating

Huth seems to be the best option from Germany after providing two assists from central midfield during a 2-0 win. I plan to include at least one player from each of the top leagues in the women's game moving forward, as that seems to be the direction EA is taking this year.

Claudia Pina - LW - 83 > 85 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Levante (W) 1 - Barcelona (W) 4  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating

What is seemingly a weekly Barcelona IF at this point goes the way of Pina. With a goal and two assists she was the star during their 4-1 away win. A result which makes it seven from seven as the continue to dominate the division, now sitting on +31 GD.

Moussa Diaby - RM - 83 > 85 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Al-Ittihad 3 - Al-Qadisiyah 1  /  8.7 Sofascore Rating

Al-Ittihad made it six wins from seven with a 3-1 home victory. The Saudi IFs should continue this week, with several strong candidates, including Diaby. The Frenchman has adapted well to the league, with his latest performance bringing his season total to eight assists.

Justin Kluivert - CAM - 77 > 84 OVR

Goal and assist  /  Bournemouth 2 - Arsenal 0  /  7 Sky Rating

Arsenal suffered their first loss of the season as Bournemouth capitalized on a first-half red card for Saliba. It was the substitute, Kluivert, who did the most damage, contributing both a goal and an assist to secure a 2-0 victory for Bournemouth.

Luis Suarez - ST - 82 > 84 OVR

Two goal, two assists  /  Inter Miami 6 - New England 2  /  9.8 Sofascore Rating

I’m sure there will be several calls for another Messi, but with a SIF yet to come and Suarez also excelling in the same match, I think it will be the Uruguayan who gets the nod. With four goal involvements, you could argue that Suarez played the bigger role as the ex-Barca players continue to dominate in America. Messi also has a current rush card meaning he wont be included regardless.

Harry Kane - ST - 90 > 91 OVR

Hat trick  /  Munich 4 - Stuttgart 0  /  1 Kicker Rating

With numerous players already missing out this year due to proximity to other promotional cards, there is some risk associated with Kane. However, with his other card being a live item, I can't see why EA wouldn't award the static IF. The Englishman scored three as Munich secured a 4-0 victory.

Substitutes

Michael Keane - CB - 75 > 81 OVR

Goal and clean sheet  /  Ipswich 0 - Everton 2  /  8 Sky Rating

Ipswich's defensive errors proved costly once again this week, as routine mistakes at the back continue to undermine their efforts. Everton capitalised on their lapses, with Keane scoring Everton's second goal with a superb strike from inside the box, helping his team secure a much-needed three points.

Alejandro Berenguer - CAM - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal, two assists  /  Athletic Club 4 - Espanyol 1  /  9 Sofascore Rating

This one could go one of two ways, with Iñaki Williams scoring twice from RM. It’s Berenguer who I have settled on, though, with the Spaniard scoring once and providing an additional two assists during a convincing 4-1 home win for Athletic Club.

Johanna Kaneryd - RM - 76 > 81 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Chelsea (W) 5 - Tottenham (W) 2  /  9.2 Sofascore Rating

A second WSL player might be pushing it, but I think both could sneak in this week with limited candidates available. Kaneryd was dominant on the right-hand side during Chelsea's 5-2 win, scoring twice and assisting another.

Danilo Cataldi - CM - 78 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  Leece 0 - Fiorentina 6  /  8 Gazzetta Rating

Fiorentina didn’t hold back as they traveled to struggling Lecce, scoring six without reply. There were a few standout performers from the match, but with two goals from central midfield and a MOTM award from Gazzetta, I couldn’t ignore Cataldi.

Pierre-Emile Hojberg - CDM - 80 > 83 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Montpellier 0 - Marseille 5  /  8 L’equipe Rating

Ligue 1 could easily feature only a Marseille player this week, but I believe Højbjerg is a lock regardless. The Danish midfielder scored one goal and assisted another in their 5-0 win. Greenwood also had a goal and an assist, but I’m not convinced EA will acknowledge him.

Tim Kleindiesnt - ST - 77 > 81 OVR

Two goals  /  Gladbach 3 - Heidenheim 2  /  2 Kicker Rating

There were several strikers with two goals this weekend, making the decision far from clear. However, Kleindienst stands out to me, with the Bundesliga being a higher caliber of competition.

Lucas Boye - ST - 75 > 81 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Granada 4 - Tenerife 0  /  8.9 Sofascore Rating

Boye being a gold card boosts his chances, especially with few standout performances this week. Granada now sit in the promotion playoff positions after a convincing 4-0 home win against Tenerife, with Boye involved in three of the goals.

Reserves

Abner Vinicius - LB - 73 > 80 OVR

One goal and clean sheet  /  Le Havre 0 - Lyon 4  /  7 L’equipe Rating

Marin Jakolis - LM - 66 > 80 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  Macarthur 6 - Perth 1  /  10 Sofascore Rating

Tom Rothe - LM - 72 > 80 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  Kiel 0 - Union Berlin 2  /  1.5 Kicker Rating

Alexander Sorloth - ST - 82 > 84 OVR

Two goals  /  Atletico Madrid 3 - Leganes 1  /  8.1 Sofascore Rating

Richard Kone - ST - 60 > 80 OVR

Hat trick  /  Wycombe 3 - Peterborough 1  /  9.4 Sofascore Rating
