FC 25 Flashback Casemiro Player Review - Cop or Flop

One of my favourite promos of the year is upon in in the Black Friday/ Thunderstruck Promo. We have already seen an almost overwhelming amount of content drop today with the brand new season bringing mastery cards into FC 25 which is certainly looking to bring a new lease of life to the game. Alongside that we have the “Best of” for TOTW and Promos that have previously been released. On top of that we also have the Thunderstruck team coming tomorrow. So a lot to digest there.

As it is the Black Friday promo, we start to see a lot of “Flash” themed releases. This can be packs, Objectives, Evos and what we are here to talk about today, SBCS. EA have dropped a Flashback Casemiro SBC and fortunately, this isn’t much of a flash SBC as we have two weeks to complete. But this card looks incredible.

Casemiro drops straight into the squad for me replacing the Gattuso that I just haven’t been able to get out of my squad. This card has received some massive upgrades. A +4 overall boost from his base item but more importantly, a +42 boost in pace which perfectly makes this card a hell of a lot more useable. Likewise, there are some +5-9s across the board making this a very well-rounded Defensive mid-card. I am looking forward to getting my hands on this card.

For Chemstyle here I have opted for the Shadow as this brings his pace up nicely as well as maxes out his Defending all the way up to 95. However, alternatively I would say the Engine is a great option if you want to boost dribbling as well as pace and passing.

Here are the following segments to unlock the Flashback Casemiro SBC:

5 segments in total for this SBC and the price tag of 250k to complete. The price to me feels a little bit steep but if he performs how the stats may suggest then I may just be sold on the price. It also helps that we are getting a mass influx of SBCs to produce clubs with more fodder. So this SBC may be a fair bit more obtainable than previous SBCs have been so far.

How did he perform in-game?

+ The passing on this card is what impressed the most. Having the Long Ball Pass+ is currently very favorable and allows Casemiro to make some real quick and effective aerial passes that usually lead to goal when timed right.

+ Physically he was also very dominant as the high strength allowed him to muscle players off the ball with ease.

+ Tackles were also very effective as mixed with the high strength allowed for him to make some real aggressive tackles that often won back possession

+ Whilst pace isn’t much to talk about here, it’s a positive just on the fact of having an increase in this stat by 42 which makes this card a more viable option

- Dribbling is what let this card down though due to the low agility. You can certainly feel it when he’s controlling the ball so I would recommend not attempting to dribble with this card very often.

Casemiro - Cop or Flop?

Initially, the price of this SBC had me on the ropes. But in-game I had a lot of fun with this item and honestly, I feel like he performs incredibly well in that Defensive Midfield position. Also worth noting is that he has been given the Long Ball Pass+ which is incredibly overpowered at the moment. So this will also be something that will make this item more desirable. But overall he performed really well in-game and I believe he could squeeze into the power curve.

250k is steep and I can see why the community are downvoting this SBC, but it is worth noting that we have this SBC available for the entire promo and I feel like we’ll start being able to obtain fodder a lot more easily with the Objectives/SBCs to come. So if you’re running a team that could use a Brazilian DM from the Premier League, I would say this one is worth the pickup.

Verdict = COP
