FC 25 Premier League Team of The Season Predictions

ByAaron

As we approach the end of the season we take a look at who could feature in the upcoming TOTS sides. First off we head to the Premier League, a season which saw Liverpool dominate proceedings while Nottingham Forest also stood out, shocking everyone by finishing in the top four. Both sides feature heavily in this prediction

Matz Sels - GK - 77 > 92 OVR

While high-profile options like Alisson and Raya aren’t impossible selections here, I think it’s fair to say that Sels should be the goalkeeper chosen. The Belgian may have conceded more goals, but that’s to be expected in a Forest side. He currently leads the race for the Golden Glove with thirteen clean sheets and has made a total of 89 saves. I would expect the majority of predictions to include Sels.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - RB - 86 > 95 OVR

While it looks a certainty that Real Madrid will sign Trent in the summer, that has not affected his performances for Liverpool. This has been one of Trent's best seasons at the club and, bizarrely, that is not solely based on his attacking contributions. While he has not lacked in that area with two goals and six assists, it is his all-round game that has impressed.

Virgil Van Dijk - CB - 89 > 98 OVR

With Liverpool dominating the league, it comes as no surprise to see that reflected in the TOTS. Van Dijk has been a consistent face in these sides for quite some time now and inevitably continues that trend here. Liverpool obtains the second-best defensive record in the division, with just 27 goals conceded from their opening 30 matches. A high rating is likely here, especially with Van Dijk’s TOTY card already at 96.

Gabriel - CB - 86 > 96 OVR

With Arsenal looking likely to secure the fewest goals conceded this season, it makes sense that at least one defender is included in this side. Gabriel has been the best from that backline for me, offering an aerial threat from set pieces, which Arsenal have gained a reputation for. The Brazilian has scored three times, and while he will miss the end of the season through injury, I feel enough has been done to secure a position in this side.

Antonee Robinson - LB - 79 > 91 OVR

The left back position is up in the air with several contenders making a case for inclusion. I feel the decision falls between Robinson, Gvardiol and Kerkez. I have opted for the first of that trio due to the ten assists Robinson has recorded, a statistic which is only bettered by Salah. Fulham also have a respectable defensive record, with forty goals conceded from their opening thirty matches.

Declan Rice - CM - 87 > 94 OVR

With Arsenal finishing second, it’s inevitable that a few of their players will end up in TOTS. That’s difficult to fulfil, however, with only a limited number truly standing out. Declan Rice has been a consistent performer in the middle of the park and has certainly lived up to the price tag Arsenal paid for him, especially when you consider his age and how long he’s likely to remain at the top of the game. Rice has performed solidly on the defensive end while also contributing two goals and five assists.

Cole Palmer - CAM - 85 > 97 OVR

The number of predictions I have seen for this side that don’t include Palmer is worryingly high. Chelsea’s star man has been a little inconsistent this season, but with 14 goals and 7 assists from 29 matches, along with his reputation which helped him claim a TOTY spot, you would expect Palmer to end up in EA’s side.

Ryan Gravenberch - CDM - 78 > 94 OVR

It took some time for Gravenberch to claim his place in the Liverpool side, but he has really made the CDM position his own this season. While he doesn’t get on the scoresheet, the job he does is so important to the success of this Liverpool team. His performances don’t go under the radar, with the Dutchman widely accepted as one of the best players in the division this campaign.

Mohamed Salah - RW - 89 > 98 OVR

Salah is without a doubt going to receive POTY this season. The Egyptian has recorded absurd numbers throughout the campaign, currently sitting on 27 goals and 17 assists in just 30 matches. The best part is he doesn't even play as a striker. Should Liverpool go on to achieve European glory, the Ballon d’Or looks almost guaranteed to go to Salah. While his future at the club is uncertain, I’m sure Liverpool will do everything they can to keep him for at least one more season.

Alexander Isak - ST - 85 > 96 OVR

Isak continues to grow as a player, solidifying his position as one of the best strikers in Europe, let alone the Premier League. The Swedish international has bagged twenty goals from twenty-five starts this season for Newcastle, who once again look likely to fall just short of Champions League football. A move for Isak seems unlikely, however, with a significant fee likely required to prise him away.

Erling Haaland - ST - 91 > 97 OVR

Some will say that Haaland has had a poor season — and that just goes to show the standard he has set. With 21 goals to his name, his position in this side shouldn’t even be up for debate. While Manchester City will inevitably be disappointed with their season, a top-four finish is still a strong possibility as we enter the final stages. Haaland is out for the next seven weeks, but his goal tally should still see him included here.

Substitutes

Ola Aina - RB - 75 > 91 OVR

While the majority of the Nottingham Forest backline makes a case for inclusion in this side, I feel that Aina has the highest chance. While both Murillo and Milenkovic are also very good options, I just feel that you could argue Aina has been the best right back this season, while the same cannot be said for the other two in their positions. Aina has been a consistent performer for Forest and has deservedly gained some traction for the upcoming transfer window.

Bruno Fernandes - CM - 87 > 95 OVR

While there is no hiding from the fact that United have been shocking this season, a consistent performer in that side has been Fernandes. Without the Portuguese talisman, it is difficult to imagine just how much worse the situation could have been. Fernandes has often been playing a deeper role compared to previous campaigns, but his offensive contributions and overall control of matches have remained the same. In total, he has eight goals and nine assists, but he is the key performer in almost every United match.

Bryan Mbeumo - RM - 80 > 93 OVR

It's been a pretty standard season for Brentford, who look set to finish mid-table. Mbeumo continues to stand out for them with another consistently strong campaign. He’s taken it to another level for the 2024/25 season though, currently sitting on 16 goals and 5 assists. It comes as no surprise that he features here. Brentford have reportedly put a £100 million price tag on the winger, which likely prices most sides out.

Chris Wood - ST - 76 > 93 OVR

While Forest deserve a few cards here with them being the surprise package this season, realistically it's difficult to fit their players in. With Wood’s injury towards the end of the season, he is slightly fringe, but with 18 goals as it stands, he is the fourth-highest scorer this season and it looks unlikely that another striker will catch up to him, making it highly likely that he will be the bench option this season. Which is deserved, I must add.

Moments/SBC/Objective

Justin Kluivert - CAM - 77 > 92 OVR

Bournemouth have tailed off towards the end of the season but their performances throughout have been largely impressive. Kluivert has been one of their main performers and is often involved during important wins. With twelve goals and six assists I think it would be harsh if EA opted to ignore the Dutchman entirely.

Bukayo Saka - RW - 87 > 95 OVR

With Saka missing large periods of the season, I think it is difficult to include him outright in the fifteen. That being said, with six goals and ten assists during the eighteen appearances the English winger made, a moments card seems realistic for him. Saka has also returned for the final stretch of the season, meaning those totals could also be pushed up in the next few matches. Arsenal also have limited players who stand out, and considering they look set to finish in second, you would imagine they receive at least a couple.

Matheus Cunha - CAM - 79 > 93 OVR

While Cunha didn’t shy away from controversy this season, his performances are probably the reason why Wolves managed to stay in the Premier League. He really stood out in what has been a very poor Wolves side. With thirteen goals and four assists to his name, he ranks among the highest goal contributors from a non-striker this campaign — and achieving that in a team set to finish 17th is pretty impressive really.
