FC 25 WSL Team of The Season Predictions

Moving to the WSL next, and unless we find out otherwise, I will be following the player format of last year’s game, meaning we are looking at squads of eleven/twelve for each female division. The usual clubs dominate this side, with the likes of Reiten, Shaw, and Caldentey standing out.

Phallon Tullis Joyce - GK - 79 > 91 OVR

There are a few routes in with the goalkeeper this season, but I just can’t overlook Tullis Joyce of Manchester United. The American keeper has kept an astonishing twelve clean sheets from eighteen matches, conceding just nine times in that period. While she has not been the busiest of keepers, with 47 total saves made, she has done more than enough to justify her position in this squad.

Katie McCabe - LB - 85 > 94 OVR

There have been some crazy defensive records in the WSL this season, with Arsenal having one of them with just thirteen goals conceded from their eighteen matches played. McCabe also offers an attacking threat to go alongside those stats, making her stand out for selection. With one goal and four assists, she can be relied upon at both ends of the pitch.

Maya Le Tissier - CB - 81 > 93 OVR

Talking of strong defensive records, Manchester United have been beyond difficult to break down, conceding on just nine occasions this season. Despite being just 22 years of age, Le Tissier has captained her side at the heart of the defence, performing consistently at a very high level, with her aerial battles and distribution from the back specifically standing out. The young defender has also chipped in with a duo of goals.

Millie Bright - CB - 85 > 94 OVR (Moments)

Millie Bright could easily get in as either a starter or a Moments addition, so predicting her makes a lot of sense. The Chelsea defender narrowly missed out on a spot in TOTY, but her performances for Chelsea this season shouldn't be understated. She commands the backline, bullying any attacker that comes her way.

Lucy Bronze - RB - 85 > 95 OVR

Lucy Bronze has been recognised as one of the best RBs in the women's game for quite some time now. It's been another strong season for her, with Chelsea looking set to go on and lift the title. EA like to include TOTY recipients in TOTS, so with Bronze being a viable option, I would expect her to sneak in, whether that's in the starting line-up or as a Moments card.

Mariona Caldentey - LW - 84 > 97 OVR

The only difficult part about this prediction comes with what position Caldentey will be. The Spaniard has played all over the midfield, whether that's CDM, CAM, or LM. Wherever Arsenal have opted to deploy her, she has been phenomenal. One of the best performers in the division this season and has the stats to back that up, with seven goals and four assists!

Grace Clinton - CM - 71 > 90 OVR

I actually predicted Clinton last season, but EA opted to ignore her, presumably due to being less well known at the time. Clinton returned from her loan and back to United over the summer and has held her position in the middle of the park ever since, chipping in with seven goals while also contributing to that previously mentioned defensive dominance. Clinton seriously can’t miss out this time around.

Erin Cuthbert - CM - 83 > 92 OVR

With Chelsea looking likely to lift the title this season, I would expect them to receive the most players in this side, which realistically should be the case anyway. I did struggle to make that happen, however, with it being a strong team performance rather than standout individuals. Cuthbert was the last player I selected, but with four goals in fifteen matches from the middle of the park, she seems to be a viable solution.

Guro Reiten - LW - 88 > 97 OVR (Moments)

Reiten is actually a fringe option for this side, with the Norwegian being the second-best LW, and considering there are minimal spots available, it puts her at risk. Considering she made the TOTY and is a popular face within the WSL now, I think she sneaks in via a Moments addition. We saw an 8 and 3 split last season, so I would expect similar numbers again this time. That being said, Reiten has still been good this season with seven goals, it’s just that Caldentey has outperformed her.

Vivianne Miedema - ST - 85 > 93 OVR (Moments)

Miedema has only managed to play half the matches this season, but her performances within those games have been beyond impactful. With seven goals and an assist to her name from those limited matches, this has a Moments card written all over it. Had Miedema stayed fit throughout the campaign, I’m sure that City would have been more competitive.

Alessia Russo - ST - 85 > 93 OVR

There are only two players in double figures for the season so far, and both should find themselves in the TOTS as a result. The first of those two is Russo. The Arsenal striker has been a key figure for the side as they continue to make a late title push, and while they're unlikely to catch Chelsea, it's been a strong campaign for them.

Khadija Shaw - ST - 86 > 97 OVR

Manchester City have not lived up to the performances they managed last season and look set to miss out on Champions League qualification. Shaw has still found herself among the goals though, scoring twelve times, which, as it stands, makes her the top scorer this season. So, while City have struggled, Shaw’s position in this side is not really up for debate.
