FC 25 93 On This Day Drogba Player Review - Cop or Flop

Today marks the start of a very special day. Team of the Season is upon us, and this week we start with the TOTS Warm-up promo. This promo sees all sorts of opportunities to build up your packs or fodder before the big promo starts. Alongside this, we also have in packs the best of Campaigns and Best of TOTW. All this before TOTS starts next week on the 25th. 

Aside from packs, though, in the SBC section we have two massive SBCs in the form of a Flashback Eriksen and an On This Day Icon Drogba SBC. This man had three very overpowered items in FC24, so it’s only fitting he makes a return now before the big promo.

This isn’t his first promo card, however. We did get a Grassroots Great Drogba, and this is a +1 from that card, with, of course, a third Playstyle+ to go alongside the boost. For playstyle pluses, he has the Quick Step, Aerial, and Low Driven Shot. This man has all the tools in his locker to score easy goals, with him having the Finesse, Powershot, and Power Header playstyles as well.

You could go with either the Hunter or the Hawk chemstyle here. I opted for the former as I wanted to make Didier an absolute target man, so I felt the need to focus on maxing out the Pace and Shooting. However, if you want to boost his physicals as well and max those out alongside the other two, Hawk is definitely a great shout.

Just 10 segments to complete this SBC with a price tag of 1 million coins to complete. I think irrelevant of the price here it’s really important to note that this SBC is live for the next two months. Which will see us well after the TOTS promo with countless opportunities to fill our clubs with fodder. The price is absolutely spot on in my opinion and i’m a big fan of this SBC thus far.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Drogba, of course, is a very brute striker. His strength is exactly what you would expect from him as he outmuscles most elite defenders with ease.

+ Shooting felt near enough perfect. No matter the shot type, he put full power into every shot taken and made scoring look easy. High shot power and finishing made this card very OP.

+ Most “big” attackers usually don’t move as fast as the game requires, but with a quick step, he was able to shift up a gear and really burst through the defence.

+ Positionally, he was solid. Was always pressing forward to receive the ball but also tracked back quickly on counterattacks to assist with regaining possession.

/ Whilst I didn’t expect a lot from his dribbling due to his physique. At times, it could let him down when being locked into situations that require an agile player to dribble out of.

- Despite passing getting a nice boost, he still, of course, lacks in this department, so he should purely only play as your target man. 

Drogba - Cop or Flop?

Just like last year, this is another top-level Drogba card that I strongly feel we will see a lot of players completing. He’s not your perfect all-around striker but he is an absolute machine that creates nightmares for defenders. He scores with ease and absolutely bullies the opposition. I think if you have been stuck with picking up some form of upgrade, this could be perfect for you.

Normally, before a big promo, I would suggest holding off on obvious coin/fodder sinks that get released via SBC,s but in all honesty, I think this one is an easy cop. Even if you decide to hold off for a while to see how TOTS treats you. This SBC is here for 2 months. There is already a lot of ways to earn yourself more fodder, and I feel that once TOTS is here, there will only be so many more. 

If you are able to complete this SBC now, I would highly recommend the COP!
