TOTW 23 PREDICTIONS

Moving into this week, and it’s almost as if these superstars new just how much content we already had within FUT. There are a couple of big names that make the list, and a few surprises could find their way into the mix on Wednesday, however overall, it’s not looking great!

Starting Eleven

Oblak

Another week of predictions, and another goalkeeper to kick start things this week, however this time it’s a big one. Atletico picked up the points with a narrow 1-0 win away to Rayo Vallecano, however things were anything but smooth sailing. If anything it was the hosts who were on top, however Oblak was on a mission, a mission in which he was extremely successful with. With 6 saves and the highest match rating on the pitch, could this be his first upgrade of the season?

Alvaro

Villarreal and Sevilla went head to head for their La Liga clash this week, where the hosts pulled off a surprise 3-0 win. Once again Cazorla was absolutely fantastic, dominating the midfield and showing that he still has it after all these years. Our selection however goes with their centerback, Alvaro, who not only played a huge part in maintaining the clean sheet, but also got his name on the scoresheet as well.

Bonucci

Juventus continued their dominating run with yet another win this week, as they breezed past Frosinone with a 3-0 home win. Once again Ronaldo was in fine form, picking up a goal and an assist, while Dybala scored an incredible goal before performing Ronaldo’s signature celebration. Our selection however has to be Bonucci, a clean sheet and a goal should be just about enough to see his name in lights this week.

Telles

Porto played hosts to the travelling Vitoria de Setubal this week in their Liga Nos fixture, and on the day it was one way traffic in favour of the hosts. Porto took the points with a 2-0 win, and while Telles may not have scored himself, his contribution on the day is something that simply cannot be ignored. Helping maintain the clean sheet, he completed his defensive role with style, while he also showed just how valuable he is when going forward, providing assists for both of the goals too.

Veretout

Fiorentina were dominant 4-1 winners away to SPAL in their Serie A fixture this week, and as you would expect with such a performance, there are plenty of possible TOTW candidates. The man who just steals it for us was Veretout from the midfield. Scoring the highest match rating, providing an assist and converting from the spot, was just about enough for us to give him the green light here.

Demirbay

Across to Germany now where we find Hoffenheim picking up a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Hannover this week. While the entire team put in a fantastic performance, Demirbay was by far the run away star. Scoring once, assisting the second and picking up a perfect 10.0 match rating, should be more than enough to see him take his second inform of the campaign.

Coman

With the race to win the Bundesliga hotter than ever, Bayern had a must win away match against Augsburg this week. The game itself was anything but smooth sailing for the visitors, however they managed to push through and secure the points with a 3-2 victory. Coman was nothing short of sensational on the day, scoring twice and assisting the third.

Feghouli

Galatasaray were away this week as they travelled to Kasimpasa for their Super Lig clash. The game provided fans with a total of 5 goals, 4 of which went in favour of the visitors. Feghouli was the man of the hour, scoring three times from the wing to secure his hat-trick, alongside a place in our predictions this week.

Fekir

It’s that time again, where we make a really bold decision and include a massive wildcard. Finding nominations from Ligue 1 was once again really difficult this week, so instead of choosing a name out of a hat, we decided to go with those who secured the best match ratings. Lyon were 2-1 winners over Guingamp this week, and with 1 goal alongside a 8.7 match rating, Fekir is one of the players to steal a spot within our selections this week.

Dost

The man, the myth, the legend. It’s the card that everybody wants to pack in FUT, and we have some good news, there is a serious chance of an inform this week! Sporting were 3-0 winners over Braga in their Liga Nos clash this week, and although it’s Dost who makes these predictions, it wasn’t an easy decision to make. Fernandes was once again absolutely breathtaking, scoring once and assisting another from the wing. The only reason he misses out here, is due to having an inform already, the fact that he is very likely to receive a ratings boost, and the fact that Dost managed to score twice, just stealing his spot.

Piatek

This new batch of one to watch cards dropped only a few days ago and already we have our first contender for an upgrade! Milan we’re away to Atlanta for their Serie A fixture this week, in a game where on paper they were the underdogs. Despite going 1-0 down, the visitors fought back and took the points with a 3-1 win. Piatek was once again simply incredible, scoring the equaliser and then once again to wrap things up.

Substitutes and Reserves

Musso

Onto the bench now and as usual we kick start things with our second and final goalkeeper selection. Udinese took home the points with a narrow 1-0 win over Chievo this week, where despite the scoreline, things were far from as they seemed. Musso was a wall in the net, stopping anything and everything that Chievo could throw at him. After an array of big saves and a clean sheet, Musso steals this second spot amongst the elite this week.

Knoche

Back across to Germany again now, where we find another comfortable home win as Wolfsburg took home the points with a 3-0 victory over the travelling Mainz. Knoche was the standout player on the day, an absolute monster in defence, ensuring the clean sheet, while also showing his attacking skill set with a goal as well. From a center back, this is almost always enough for an upgrade!

Clark

Vitesse and Willem II went head to head for their domestic fixture this week, leaving fans on the edge of their seats in a 5 goal thriller. Vitesse were the side who came out on top at the end though, taking the points in a narrow 3-2 win. Clark played a massive role in this, and while he may have lacked a little defensively at times, his attacking skill set more than made up for this. With 1 goal, an assist and the man of the match award, Clark strolls into our 23 man lineup this week.

Criscito

Lazio were away to Genoa for their Serie A fixture this week, in a game that most expected them to win. Genoa however had other plans, and were more than prepared for this match, despite conceding to a first half goal. The manager must have done wonders at half time, as the second half was nothing but dominance from the hosts, as they racked up over 20 shots, scored twice and took the win. Criscito played a big part in this, not only was he solid defensively, but he also managed to find the back of the net himself to give Genoa the win in the 93rd minute.

Savanier

These controversial decisions always seem to made around the French league, and as we know that EA likes to diversify and include someone from each of the top leagues, sometimes we just have to roll with it. Nimes took the points this week with a 2-0 win over Dijon, and for us, there was one man who really stood out. Savanier was solid in the midfield, not only did he score one of the goals, but he also secured a near perfect match rating, making him our second and final Ligue 1 nomination.

Rochina

Heading back over to Spain for this selection, where Levante picked up a confident 4-1 win away from home, as they travelled to Celta Vigo for their La Liga fixture. Selecting the right player here is tough, especially as there are numerous solid candidates. Coke picked up a goal from defence, Morales got two as a striker, and his partner Mayoral got 1 goal and 1 assist. Our selection however goes with Rochina, he provided 2 assists from CDM and took the highest match rating on the day.

Portu

Real Madrid played hosts to Girona for their fixture this week, and once again, on paper this looked like an easy win. Despite going 1-0 up, Madrid once again managed to bottle it and with a little help from Ramos, Girona took the points. Now usually a single goal isn’t quite enough, however when your towards the bottom of the table and beat Madrid, it’s hard to go unnoticed. Portu took a goal and the highest match rating, could he also take his first inform too?

Oyarzabal

Back across to La Liga now, where Real Sociedad took home all the points with a very convincing 3-0 win over Leganes this week. While there were plenty of great performances across the team, Oyarzabal was a man in form, running circles around the opposition from start to finish. He also showed just how clinical he can be, scoring twice on the day to take the man of the match award, alongside his nomination from us.

Dalmau

On to a big one now, a player that simply cannot be excluded, a monumental performance that needs recognition! Heracles absolutely destroyed Fortuna Sittard with a 6-0 win this week, and Dalmau was simply breathtaking. Scoring not once, not twice, not even three times, he picked up four goals to secure the man of the match award, and surely his first inform as well.

Adam

Al Taawoun took the points this week with a very comfortable 4-0 home win over the travelling Ohod club. Adam was a man in form during the match, terrorising the oppositions defence from the very start. His performance was fantastic, and the stats alone show this, as he took home the match ball with a hat-trick of his own.

Pukki

It’s about time this man received some recognition, and we wanted to make sure we kick started things off by including him within our predictions this week! Heading across to the Championship, we find a match between Norwich and Bolton. Bolton were the dominant force this week, taking the points with a very convincing 4-0 away victory. Pukki directly played a part in 3 of these goals, scoring twice and assisting a third on the day.

Tadic

For our final selection this week we head back across to the Eredivisie, and despite the numerous demands for another inform Ziyech, we just couldn’t pick him this time around. Ajax picked up a comfortable 5-0 win over Nac Breda this week, and while it was in fact Ziyech who scored the highest rating, Tadic was the man for us. With 2 goals, including one from the spot, in a newly adapted striker role, i think it's about time his consistency was rewarded with another inform from this campaign.
