TOTW 32 Predictions

With TOTS just around the corner now the focus turns towards that but we actually have a very respectable TOTW ahead of us. With potential upgrades for four live items, while six players of 87 rating or higher could also feature in the side.

Goalkeeper

Kevin Trapp – GK - OVR 82>>87
Goalkeepers were once again a difficult position to fill with virtually no gold options available. I think that is shown by the fact I have included a goalkeeper with three saves in a 2-2 draw. Trapp’s saves did help ensure that Frankfurt didn’t come away empty handed from their 2-2 draw though and was named MOTM from Kicker for his performance so although a stretch Trapp is not completely random

Defenders

Andrew Robertson – LB - OVR 87>>91
It’s been a while since we have seen two players from one side make TOTW but Liverpool could easily obtain two this week. With two rival matches taking place and six points taken it's been a statement towards City that they are not dropping points anywhere and in turn putting the pressure on City, which so far, they have had no problems whatsoever with. Robertson gets the nod for scoring one of Liverpool's two goals as they recorded a 2-0 win in the Merseyside derby.

Philipp Lienhardt – CB - OVR 76>>84
Gladbach and Freiburg played out a six-goal thriller this weekend with both sides scoring on three occasions. Despite conceding three times Lienhardt was named MOTM with a strong 2 match rating. He scored once compared to Gunter's goal and assist from LB but Kickers ratings are too strong to ignore.

Denzel Dumfries – RWB - OVR 82>>86
Inter recorded a huge win for their title ambitions this weekend, managing a 3-1 win away at Roma. Dumfries, Brozovic and Hakan all received a 7.5 from Gazzetta, resulting in any of the three having a chance of an inclusion. There will certainly be an Inter player included though and my guess is Dumfries who scored the opener.

Midfielders

Gabriel Jesus – RW - OVR 83>>87
By far the performance of the week came from Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus. The Sky blues ran away as 5-1 winners this weekend when facing Watford. Jesus was involved in all five of these goals from the right-hand flank. Scoring four and assisting another the Brazilian had a night he will never forget. Just give game remain in the season and the gap at the top remains at just one point with the advantage to City.

Dimitri Payet – LW - OVR 80>>83
There were two sets of Ligue 1 fixtures played this week but the second set was rather lackluster. With Payet having a headliner card I feel that his chances are boosted further than usual. Despite only scoring two penalties L’equipe decided to award the Frenchman an 8/10 which looks set to see him pick up his first IF of the year.

Youssouf Fofana – CDM - OVR 78>>84
Ligue 1 was a difficult league to predict from with the reliable L’equipe source offering very little in terms of usable options. For that reason, I have taken a few punts as we will inevitably see a couple included by EA. The first doubles up as the featured TOTW with Fofana being awarded an 8/10 for his defensive display during Monaco’s 4-1 away win over St Etienne.

Houssem Aouar – CM - OVR 81>>84
Usually, Aouar would be nailed on for a TOTW spot after scoring twice for Lyon however L’equipe failed to include him in their TOTW which makes things difficult. That being said he did receive a 7/10 and while I struggle for Ligue 1 options, I don’t see how I can ignore Aouar.

Mohamed Salah – RW - OVR 89>>93
Although the inevitable Salah TOTS is on the way there is a gap between what would be is TIF and that TOTS which allows this card to happen, a nice little boost for those headliner owners. Liverpool showed the gap currently between themselves and Manchester United with a very convincing 4-0 win on Tuesday. Salah was the stand out player scoring twice and assisting another to claim MOTM with a 9/10

Forwards

Arnaut Danjuma – ST - OVR 76>>86
It's been a strong season for Danjuma, who took his tally to ten for the season with his latest two against Valencia. Villarreal still has an outside chance of European football after their win in the Derbi de la Comunitat, sitting just five points off Real Betis in fifth. I would say Danjuma is rather fringe but considering the rivalry I expect him to sneak in with two.

Luis Muriel – ST - OVR 82>>84
Muriel has been snubbed on a couple of occasions this year for an IF however, they have been in close proximity to that of his Showdown card. Gazzetta awarded the Colombian a strong 8 match rating making him the highest of the week in Italy and thus despite only achieving a goal and an assist on paper, something which is often not enough for a striker, with his match rating I do expect him to get in.

Substitutes

Yunis Abdelhamid – CB - OVR 77>>81
Seeing as the silver goalkeeper punt failed to come off last week, I didn’t want to try the same again this week and thus I have opted against a second gold keeper and instead opted for Abdelhamid. The CB managed to get an 8/10 from Ligue 1’s midweek fixtures after scoring the opener for Reims as they won 2-1.

Connor Roberts – RB - OVR 75>>81
Burnley took a huge step towards safety this week with a 2-0 win over Southampton on Thursday. It comes after the controversial sacking of Dyche which let's be honest should never have happened. That being said Burnley looked very good against Southampton and were unlucky not to have completely run away with it having had two other goals disallowed and were convincing throughout. Roberts scored the opener while also helping to keep their clean sheet.

Lucas Ocampos – RM - OVR 83>>85
Sevilla played out an enthralling 3-2 away win against Levante this weekend. Both Corona, who scored twice and Ocampos with two assists stand a chance of making TOTW 32 but it is Ocampos which seems the more likely of the pair having been awarded MOTM. There are a lot of right sided payers already though, but with both being wingers I can't see EA justify Corona over Ocampos.

Sasa Lukic – CM - OVR 75>>81
Onto a pretty dead card but a deserving one nonetheless. Lukic scored both Torino’s goals from the middle of the park as they recorded a 2-1 home win over Spezia. Gazzetta awarded him MOTM with a 7.5 making him nailed on for this week's side.

Max Kruse – LW - OVR 81>>84
Probably one of the least wanted positional changes we will see all year comes with a LW Max Kruse. The German managed to bag himself a hat trick this weekend during Wolfsburg’s convincing 5-0 win at home to Mainz. Wind scored the first after just eight minutes and it was Kruse control from that point onwards.

Surdar Dursun – ST - OVR 75>>81
Fenerbahçe recorded one of the more convincing results of the week, a 6-0 win. This resulted in an easy TOTW selection with Dursun. The forward scored three times and assisted another for the Turkish outlet and although two wee from the spot there is no way that he misses out here.

Borja Mayoral – ST - OVR 76>>81
Another La Liga striker now comes with Mayoral scoring twice for Getafe as they recorded a 2-0 win away at Celta Vigo. Although contracted at Real Madrid the Spaniard continues to be shipped out on loan to various different clubs. I don’t feel that he will get a chance at the Spanish giants now being 25 years of age however I do think that he will make it at a mid-table side such as Getafe

Reserves

Dariusz Pawlowski – RWB - OVR 59>>69
It’s been getting to the stage now where defenders with two attacking contributions are often snubbed by EA but Pawlowski went one further and managed three and thus surely will be included in the upcoming side. With one goal and two assists, the RWB helped Zabrze to a 4-2 win.

Mohamed Ofkir – RW - OVR 63>>73
Ofkir was pivotal during Sandefjord’s impressive 5-0 away win over Stromsgodset. The winger scored three of the five goals from the wing to help secure the three points and his MOTM.

Deniz Undav – ST - OVR 69>>84
Things now begin to get difficult for Gilloise who looks set to upset the whole of Belgium and lift their title. They passed the first test though, beating Anderlecht 3-1 in the first round of the championship group. Undav is usually the goal scorer but he turned to the assists on Sunday, providing all three to help his side secure the win.

Eddie Nketiah – ST - OVR 74>>80
Just the one hat trick was scored by a non-gold this week and thus it allowed me to mix things up a bit in the reserves section, allowing players like Nketiah to be deservedly acknowledged. Arsenal had a superb week winning both matches, the first being a 4-2 away win over Chelsea before then dispatching another big side in Manchester United 3-1. Nketiah gets the nod from the Chelsea match where he scored twice to claim MOTM.

Andrea Pinamonti – ST - OVR 68>>77
Similarly, to Nketiah, Pinamonti would have usually been snubbed for a random hat trick but with a lack of those occurring he is likely to get in. Empoli shocked Napoli this weekend, beating them 3-2. Pinamonti was named MOTM after scoring two of those three goals and thus could see himself included in TOTW 32.
