TOTW 6 Predictions FIFA 23

TOTW 6 brings multiple big-name performances and although my prediction does not contain them all it is still a desirable side. With the likes of Dembele, Vinicius, Martinez and Bellingham all standing out.

Odisseas Vlachodimos - GK - 81 > 84 OVR

5 Saves and clean sheet / 1-0 win against Porto / 8 Match Rating

Porto against Benfica is always a crucial fixture in Portugal with limited points being dropped by both sides throughout a season. Benfica are now in a superb position after a narrow 1-0 win, with Vlachodimos standing out for his saves to deny Porto.

Adam Marusic - LB - 79 > 82 OVR

Assist and clean sheet / 2-0 win against Atalanta / 7.5 Match Rating

Lazio are very likely to pick up an IF this week after an impressive result over Atalanta but who that will be is a difficult call. Anderson was named as the official MOTM but with one goal as a striker, I can’t see him making the side. Instead, we look to Marusic who provided an assist and also picked up a decent match rating.

Andrei Girotto - CB - 78 > 82 OVR

MOTM / 1-1 draw against Nice / 7 Match Rating

When you’re struggling for gold defenders L’equipe’s TOTW is often your saviour and I expect that to be the case again this week. Girotto was a solitary 7 in the backline and with him being gold I expect EA to go that route yet again.

Daniel Munoz - RB - 75 > 81 OVR

Two goals / 6-1 win against Westerlo / 8.9 Match Rating

Munoz often finds himself among the golds and can be included in TOTW predictions regularly. EA often snub the Colombian but after scoring a brace on Tuesday he becomes very difficult to ignore.

Vincenzo Grifo - LM - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal, one assist / 2-0 win against Bremen / 1.5 Match Rating

There are several attractive IF options from the left side this week but the most realistic for me does not compare to those. Grifo claimed a strong Kicker rating after being involved in both Freiburg’s goals on Saturday.

Jude Bellingham - CM - 84 > 86 OVR

Two goal / 5-0 win against Stuttgart / 1.5 Match Rating

There were several Dortmund candidates from their 5-0 victory over Stuttgart but the main two were Bellingham and Sule. You have to go with the MOTM option which in this case was Jude who continues to improve his game.

Adrian Rabiot - CM - 80 > 83 OVR

Two goals  /  4-0 win against Empoli  /  7 Match Rating

Many will be hoping for a Cuadrado IF after he provided two assists but after only receiving a 6.5 rating I feel that is unlikely. Instead, we look to Rabiot, with the Frenchman scoring twice and claiming MOTM with a 7.

Vinicius Junior - LW - 86 > 87 OVR

Two assists  /  3-1 win against Sevilla  /  3 Stars

Real Madrid are playing some unbelievable football recently and Saturday’s win over Sevilla was yet another example of it. Vinicius provided two assists to claim a maxim match rating from Marca and will be a desirable card.

Ousmane Dembele - RW - 83 > 85 OVR

One goal, three assists  /  4-0 win against Bilbao  /  10 Match Rating

It looked as though Lewandowski was a strong candidate for TOTW 6 but Dembele had other ideas. The Frenchman is now easily the best candidate for Barcelona this week after being involved in all four of their goals during a routine win over Bilbao.

Antoine Griezmann - ST - 83 > 85 OVR

Two goals  /  2-1 win against Betis  /  3 Stars

Some players just work well under some systems and Griezmann under Simeone at Madrid is one of those. Since being reunited Griezmann has regained the form we knew him for. His brace this weekend secured all three points and a likely IF.

Lautaro Martinez - ST - 86 > 87 OVR

Two goals and one assist  /  4-3 win against Fiorentina  /  8 Match Rating

Martinez was somewhat of a punt last week but there is no doubt surrounding his inclusion this time around. The Argentine excelled during a seven-goal thriller, being involved in three goals to help Inter snatch it 4-3.

Substitutes

Dean Henderson - GK - 79 > 82 OVR

Seven saves and clean sheet  /  1-0 win against Liverpool  /  9 Match Rating

Dean Henderson played twice this week and managed to keep two clean sheets, performing superbly in both. It’s specifically the Liverpool performance which see’s him selected for TOTW making seven saves, including a superb late one to deny VVD.

Florian Lejeune - CB - 77 > 81 OVR

Two goals  /  5-1 win against Cadiz  /  8.3 Match Rating

Although Lejeune failed to keep the clean sheet and was not officially MOTM with two goals, as a gold defender I can’t see a scenario in which he is not included.

Brahim Diaz - CM - 78 > 84 OVR – FEATURED TOTW

Two goals  /  4-1 win against Monza  /  8 Match Rating

A superb display from Diaz helped Milan to a comfortable 4-1 win over Monza. He was named player of the week from Gazzetta making him an easy selection for the side.

Andre Gomes - CM - 75 > 81 OVR

One assist  /  4-3 win against Monaco  /  8 Match Rating

Outside of PSG, who I feel will be snubbed this week, there were very few Ligue 1 options. I have made a couple of punts though with Gomes being one. Despite only one assist, the Portuguese midfielder was named MOTM with a strong rating during the seven-goal thriller.

Steven Berghuis - CM - 82 > 84 OVR

Two goals, one assist  /  4-1 win against Waalwijk  /  8.5 Match Rating

Despite a plethora of Eredivisie options last week none made it into the 23-man squad. This week there are fewer options from the division but Berghuis specifically stands out, being named POTW with an 8.5 from VI.

Alexandre Lacazette - ST - 81 > 84 OVR

One goal, one assist  /  2-1 win against Montpellier  /  8 Match Rating

Although on paper Lacazette seems to be a fringe option after L’equipe awarded him an 8/10 his spot in the side seems much more cemented, with his last-minute goal securing the three points for Lyon.

Danny Ings - ST - 79 > 82 OVR

Two goals  /  4-0 win against Brentford  /  9 Match Rating

Aston Villa came out of the blocks remarkably fast, scoring three goals within the opening 17 minutes. Both Ings and Bailey excelled but with Bailey featuring in a recent promo, Ings seems the likely IF candidate here.

Reserves

Arnau Comas (CB)  - Two goals - Basel 3 - Winterhur 1

Doru Popadiuc (CAM) - Hat trick - Voluntari 0 - Targoviste 3

Lawrence Shankland (ST) - Hat trick - Hearts 3 - Celtic 4

Renzo Lopez (ST) - Three goals, one assist - Union 1 - Central Cordoba 4

Tom Bradshaw (ST) - Hat trick - Millwall 3 - Watford 0
