FIFA 23 FUT Ballers "Play To Style Objectives" - Release Date, Latest News, Predictions & More

The next promotion coming to FIFA 23 Ultimate Team has been confirmed, and it’s not FUT Birthday like many predicted, but a new event - FUT Ballers.

FUT Birthday is still likely to be arriving soon in FUT 23 to celebrate 14 years of FIFA Ultimate Team, but before that, let’s dive into the information we have so far surrounding FUT Ballers!

What is the FUT Ballers Promo?

FUT Ballers has been announced, and from the latest loading screen, we can see it’s an Objective & SBC themed event!

“Play To Style Objectives” have been announced – showing Luis Duiz upgrading from an 86 with 88 Dribbling to 88 rated with 92 Dribbing, and a Klopp-esque dynamic.

It’s rumoured that you’ll have to complete Daily Player SBCs to earn FUT Ballers cards, before upgrading them by completing specific gameplay related objectives, earning new traits, skill moves, weak foot upgrades and stat boosts in the process.

Could we also potentially see a set of re-released promo cards from the likes of Centurions, TOTY Honourable Mentions, Future Stars and Road to the Final, similar to the “Winter Best-of” release from earlier in the year?

What are “Play to Style” Objectives & How do FUT Ballers Cards Upgrade?

“Play To Style” Objectives will be the way in which FUT Baller cards are upgraded – likely in a similar fashion to the Future Stars Academy Objectives released earlier in the year.

To start off, you’ll have to complete the base FUT Ballers SBC to obtain the base card – in the example above – 86 Diaz.

You’ll then use 86 Diaz to complete a number of objectives to upgrade to the 88 rated version.

Currently, there’s no information as to where the objectives will be placed, i.e. Squad Battles, Division Rivals, FUT Champs or Friendlies – so keep an eye out.

When Will FUT Ballers be Released in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team?

FUT Ballers is confirmed to be released in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team on Friday, March 17th.

This was confirmed by a loading screen release on Wednesday, March 15th, showing the new purple card design.

The FUT Ballers card design has been confirmed in the loading screen, as shown above.

Interestingly, the loading screen shows two identical cards, could FUT Ballers include some sort of Player Pick between SBC cards - similar to the Mario Gomez Fantasy FUT Hero Player Pick SBC released recently?

There are no signs of FUT Ballers cards having an upgradeable element as of yet, but time will tell - we could see a call back to promos such as Adidas NumbersUp from FUT 22, whereby individual card stats upgrade over time.

FUT Ballers Predictions & Rumours

With such little information currently surrounding FUT Ballers, predicting which cards will be released is difficult.

Will FUT Ballers be themed around 5* Skill “Ballers” such as Antony & Ousmane Dembele, or will EA take an approach and look at “Ballers” that the streets won’t forget from previous FIFA Ultimate Team cycles, such as Radja Nainggolan or Aiden McGeady?
