This 87 rated card reflects del piero in the time period from 1993-1995, when del piero served his first years with juventus. Del piero was already an amazing player then and if it wasn't for roberto baggio, vialli and ravanelli up front they would not have benched him so many times the first year. Do realize that roberto baggio was a ballon d'or winner and both ravanelli and vialli were top strikers. When roberto baggio got injured in the beginning of the season 1994-1995 juventus deployed del piero on a full time basis. They won that season the serie a title for the first time in 9 years. The rest is history.
Young del piero doesn't have the class in dribbling, finishing and vision like his 90 rated card but he sure is a lot quicker. This while he's still a very good finisher, passer and dribbler. 88 shooting, 84 passing and 89 dribbling isn't exactly average. He still got that 5 star weak foot as well and he has high medium workrates. He has even more stamina.
I still use him as a supporting striker though (like I did with his 90 rated card) but because of the extra speed and those workrates I can be more agressive on the counter. He's only got 62 strength so you need to keep moving with him but with his dribbling and passing stats you can easily get the ball to a teammate.
I have to be honest, while his 90 card was more fun to play with because of the pure class, this card works better for my playstyle because of the speed and workrates and he's also fun to play with. He's also good at pretty much everything. This card has so many pro's that I don't even know where to start, be sure to click the read more button...
