Absolute goal machine
By CrK1907, 15-11-2017

I placed 87 Crespo as the main goal threat next to Aguero in a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow formation with Dybala behind them as support. This trio proved to be deadly as they controbuted to a combined 150 goals and 95 assists in the 33 games they played together. Crespo currently has 99 goals in 37 games for me. I bought him a day before I purchased the rest of my team.

Crespo is clearly the 'finisher' of the trio. This is his main asset. About 95% of the chances he gets end up in the back of the net. The runs he makes, and his positioning is incredible. He always is in the right place at the right time. This is a reflection of his 89 positioning and 92 composure. He is always ice cold in front of goal. Double 4 stars mean he is versatile and pull off a skill move or shoot with his left in a tight position.

I played with strikers like 84 Jesus, Lacazette, Higuain, Lewandowski, Mertens and now Aguero. None of these strikers were nearly half as good or prolific as Crespo was, bar Aguero. Aguero seems like a slightly weaker but more agile Crespo. He also misses the odd chance every once and again, which Crespo just doesn't. Crespo doesn't feel slow at all and once he's behind the defence, catching up to him and pushing him off the ball isn't easy because his strength isn't bad either. His agility and dribbling are also decent; not the best but definitely not the worse.

I do have to admit that he is NOT a game changer on his own. I believe he needs a good team to be built around him to perform (A team worth +- 1.5M). His dribbling and passing (and maybe pace) are not enough in order for him to win games on his own. If you build a decently strong squad around him, he becomes a game changer and goal scoring madman.

Crespo's tactics are run behind the defence and press the back line.

  • Incredible finishing
  • Amazing positioning and runs behind the defence
  • Suprisingly agile, quick and adept at dribbling
  • Good at headers
  • Decent strength + height
  • Double 4 stars
  • His passes can be off sometimes
  • Very expensive
  • Not a game changer on his own

I dont even know where to start, this card is so good. I have used the 85 crespo, I have the 90 larsson but this 87 crespo is incredible. I play him in a 4312 with Larsson at CAM and inform Rashford as the second striker. He feels like a different kind of player, his finishing is on another planet. Low drivens he is unstoppable but his dribbling was amazing for someone who is 6'0 tall, the 4* 4* really helps to get into the box. I picked him up for 320,000 coins and I dont plan on selling him soon, definetely value for money as he is a game changer!

I can't really make a comparison because he is nothing like anything I have used before apart from the 85 Crespo. However, if I had to make a comparison I would compare him to suarez but not as strong because their both clinical and have good dribbling.

  • Finishing is clinical
  • Composure is excellent
  • Pace is good
  • Strength - He actually felt quite alright with a Hawk chem style, he didnt get bullied and held of centre backs quite alot.
  • Dribbling
  • 4* 4*
  • Passing - He was competent with quick one-twos but sometimes you can notice him lacking that passing accuracy over longer distances.
  • Stamina - He plays well until the last 10 minutes when he doesnt make as many runs, but as a lone striker, without someone with high stamina feeding him like I had, I can imagine him lacking runs.

I first packed this card after completing the Douglas Costa SBC right at the beginning of the game. Ever since he has been in the striker spot of my team no matter what and has been an incredible card. His finishing ability is incredible and he never misses a shot (unless DDG save with feet...) His pace, with the added Hunter chemistry card is sublime and can always get that extra step in front of the defenders. His dribbling is also just as good as his pace. His passing is lacking and does cause issues, however with the TOTS Dybala, Prime Hagi and TOTS Gomez behind him, its not a massive issue in the end. His stamina will only cause issue towards the end of the game and the rest of his physical stats are at a good level to the point that they do not cause issues. His strength does seem higher than is actually stated on his card.

To round up, the card is incredible and at the low price he is at this time of FIFA, it is 100% worth it.
