95 - FOF

He is back!
By TheFUTBuilder, 05-08-2018

Carlos Tevez, I'm sure everyone knows him. Went to fill his bank account in China and is now back, thankfully, because otherwise, we wouldn't have this card. Judging by the card stats, this guy should be fantastic. I've been using him mostly in D1 but this weekend in the WL as well. Let's get into it.

Pace - This card feels absolutely rapid. He just sprints past defenders for fun. 96 acceleration on the card and 91 sprint speed is just perfect for a striker like Tevez. A short, agile striker who hangs on the line of the last defender and then just runs away from his marker, only to be left standing one-on-one with the goalkeeper. And he does it, time and time again.

Shooting - His shooting is brilliant. Great positioning inside the box (or outside, ready to tear away from defenders as mentioned in the above paragraph) and his finishing is practically flawless with his right foot. Coupled with 99 shot power and 99 composure, the keeper will have very little chance, even if Tevez is being pressed by an opposing player. Having the long shot taker trait, and finesse shot trait, these, from long range, will easily fly in as well. Shooting with the left foot feels alright, just what you would expect from a 3 star weak foot. He can definitely score with his left foot, but in pressed situations or long-range situations the left foot is going to let him down a bit. Unfortunately he doesn't have the 4-star skills, which would help him turn to his other foot more easily.

Passing - For a striker, Tevez has got fantastic passing stats. If he wouldn't be this short, I could even recommend you playing him as a target man. Great vision and short passing and solid curve, which really helps with those finesse shots outside of the box (on his right foot, once again). His free kicks are okay, didn't manage to score one myself, but realistically, who does not use the Fake Shot technique while trying to convert your free kick?

Dribbling - Immaculate. Well, there aren't all 99s, but it's just great. Close ball control coupled with fantastic agility and balance allows him to turn quickly and dribble past his direct opponents. Don't be afraid to have a go at bypassing your opponents with just dribbling, without using a skill move, as it will most likely work out for you. He's also got great reactions, helping me score a few rebounds from shots that were saved or hit the post.

Defending - Not really going to talk about defending for a striker, but crazily enough he's got just under 70 standing tackle, which is actually really solid, especially considering he's a striker, which means he can rob the ball off defenders sometimes.

Physicality - For a striker as short as Tevez, his physicality is really nice He has got low jumping and low heading accuracy as well, so he's definitely not the kind of guy you wanna pump crosses into the box towards. He can run all game, even in extra time, with his 96 stamina. He's got 95 strength and agression, which help him shrug off defenders, but against tall defenders (even with less strength) he has little chance. He can hold off smaller players like Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva, but against players such as TOTS Vertonghen and Chiellini, he's got no chance.

All in all Tevez is a great card, and the only few negatives I experienced are his 3 star / 3 star combination. Tevez'd be pretty much perfect if he was 4 star 4 star. Besides, he is hard to link, but that is not really a negative for the card (his in-game performance isn't hindered by the difficulty to link him). I have got Crespo and prime Del P which makes it really easy however, and with the great attackers from Argentina you should manage to get him into a team. Low / Medium workrates are fine, Medium / High would be better but I'm not going to hold it against him as it doesn't really affect his performance, he is great nonetheless.

And the price is definitely fantastic, around 25 to 35k on all platforms for a 95 rated player is a good deal, and when it is a card as good as this one, being low-priced is even better.

Dude is basically a cheat code.
By ATL17, 13-08-2018

Got my old stand-by in a Two-Rare-Players Gold Upgrade pack. Insane. I had used him in most games in FIFA17 and a bit early in 18, but this guy is a game changer. Get him, and watch him track back and attack defensively. He can score off balance, and he is way too fast to be fair.

I use him with Aguero up top in my PL team, and even at 8 chemistry, he is the single best player I have ever used in a FIFA game.

And I play a lot.

Speed

Work rate, both on offense and defense

Dribbling

Scoring goals

Stamina

I got him way too late in the season.

What a brilliant card!!!
By BenOwen4, 04-08-2018

As soon as I saw how much this Tevez card had dropped in price, I knew I had to use it. For just 35k, this has to be one of the best buys on the entire game. In my opinion, he is not hard to link, as with the current market crash there are many good cheap Argentinian players out there. Overall, this card is not as complete as his stats suggest but he is a fantastic player on this game.

  • Pace - he can beat the majority of defenders for pace so is really good on the counter attack.
  • Shooting - he has a fantastic shot from both inside and outside of the box, but make sure you keep it on his right foot and avoid using finesse finishes, although finesse shots from outside the box are good most of the time.
  • Finishing from tight angles.
  • Heading - this was a surprise as he is only 5'7" and has very average heading stats but he is a surprising threat in the air.
  • Stamina - very good although personally I don't think it is as important as people make it out to be.
  • Dribbling - very good with the ball and very agile, now and again has the odd bad first touch but not often enough to be a con.
  • Strength - the only expectation that wasn't met was his strength. He has such high strength and aggression yet he gets pushed off the ball by everyone, even small weak fullbacks.
  • 3* weak foot - on most cards weak foot usually isn't an issue but avoid Tevez left foot at all costs, he literally misses open goals with it, it's awful.
