Wow. I've played him in a 4-3-3 (4) as the CAM so far, and has 39 goals and 38 assists in 31 games, Squad Battles on Legendary and Online division 2/3. His shots anywhere within 25 yards are as good as or even better than most strikers, his passing his great and I love how he has a High/High work rate. I play him with Engine chem style, which means all of his essential technical stats are above 80, apart from Strength! 4 Star skills and weak foot means this card has no apparent weakness. I haven't found his pace an issue really.
Great Shot anywhere, 83 Finishing, 86 Long Shots.
85 Dribbling, high Composure, Reactions, Ball Control etc.
I don´t know what to say about Kevin de Bruyne. He is just AMAZING. I play him with Maestro in 4231 as the middle CAM. right Wilian, left Son an Lukaku as Striker. KDB, i thought, will give the Assist to his Monster Trio but instead of assisting he makes the Goals himself. With Maestro he has 96 in Longshots and you feel it. No Failures in Passing (Can I write it so?), and every shot is dangerous.
I bought him now at the "Market Crash" for 220k on sunday night, and he worths it!!
Just try him out with Maestro
- His Pasing
- His Longshots
High/High Workrates make him work everywhere, you will think you got 3 Kevins ;)
- Just Everything
Only Con is his Pace, but really you don´t need it. He is Dangerous without 95 Pace. And Maybe his Price is a Con for you, but he is a gem. And gems are expensive ;)
I was lucky enough to pack this guy during FUTmas, and I had to make a team around him. He is so smooth on the ball and rarely makes mistakes. His pace is decent, I put a hawk on him just for the boost and he is awesome. His shooting and long-shots are pin - point accurate and his finishing is very good. Passing is so good, his through balls are perfect. Dribbling is unstoppable, he never takes a bad first touch. With a hawk, it will boost his strength which makes him even better. I highly recommend this card in any kind of game, FUT Champs, Squad Battles, Seasons, whatever. He is a monster.
Pace, if you're a pace jockey
The last years I always loved KDB, so I wanted him this year again to go in the right CM role together in a midfield with Eriksen and Kouyate (also tried him with Alli instead of Eriksen).
The player he replaced was Dele Alli and from the first game on i didn't really get used to him. Maybe because of his high/high workrates, but he was not present enough at the front and when he had chances, he missed most of them. Going backwards he was very good and won a lot of tackles tho, but I bought him because I wanted him to play the deadly throughball to one of my attackers or to smash some goals from distance with his 84 shooting, but that was rarely the case. Also when I held up the ball with Jesus, normally my Alli makes a run so I have someone to play it to, but when I needed a run from KDB, it never came.
And it's not that I say it is a bad card or something like that, I mean he was pretty solid, but a card worth more than 300k (origin, mid of november) should make the difference in a tight game and not miss game-winning chances.
His passing in the midfield was pretty good, a bit weaker than Eriksens tho, but it didn't bother me too much. His pace is very good for a CM or CAM too and I also had no issues with his crossing, infact when he crossed, a good chance was always near, but from the CM spot he never really came to cross the ball too often.
What I disliked about him was his strength and his agility. Normally a strong player isn't that agile and the other way round, but that wasn't the case with KDB. He couldn't move as agile as Eriksen or Alli, but he wasn't stronger as them as well.
And then I also tried him in a 41212 in the CAM spot because I thought maybe he's just lost as a CM, but it really didn't make much of a difference.. so now im playing my Alli instead of him and will maybe try out Pogba or an icon if I can afford them and need a change in my team.
To sum it up, it is a solid and good card, but not for 300k+
- Going backwards
- Not deadly in front of goal
- Missing the right runs from him
Against the AI this card scores more goals than my striker. But only because the AI marks the dribbling impeccably, thus the weakness of average agility players doesn't show.
Against human opponents, dribbling is the key this year, even more so than pace. Not just for dribbling! But for passing and shooting as well, because beforehand you need to create space to pass or shoot. And here lies the problem for De Bruyne and Eriksen. De Bruyne is a Long pass taker and really can pass wonderful through balls, but the problem is, the moment he has to TURN into a direction to pass, he's not fast and agile enough to do it before he gets bullied. Getting bullied reduces the pass accuracy even if he can pass (that's what Nick28 doesn't understand...). If you look into the stats of the gold cards on the market, you'll see that he doesn't have many assists.
KDB would be a truly wonderful card, Eriksen's long passing is nowhere near. But here me out. You buy Alexis Sanches, put an Architect chem on him. You buy Alessandrini or whatever, so that you can start with 4-3-3, after that you can change without chem loss, so that Sanches wlll be your CAM. With Architect, his passing is better than KDB's! And he has 86 pace, 90 dribbling, better finishing, he's a longshot taker as well. With Architect he has 90 strength and agression. So the only thing KDB still has over him is his height (doesn't matter) and that he's a longpass taker.
Long pass taker. I have never experienced such through balls, Eriksen is a joke compared to him.
He's one sided considering that you can change formation and use beast players as CAM. No pros use standard CAM cards, they use strikers like Messi, Suarez, even Dembelé.
