Player Review
83 - Normal
Kingsley Coman, the Speed Demon
Formation IG: 433(2)
Position IG: LW
Chemistry Style: Maestro
Player instruction: Get in behind, Play wide, Stay forward
Games/Goals/Assists: 34/10/14
This year I find myself very comfortable with a specific system that his 433, specifically 433(2). in this system i like to have an aggressive cdm (i have allan) and two box-to-box midfielders (paulinho, who i sub in at minute 1 for chemistry, and goretzka) who have offensive presence, height and quality. I also like to have really pacey wingers who can either blitz or dribble through players to create space and opportunities for my central players or themselves. i dont score a lot with them but they contribute a lot to my playstyle so, even though they most likely score 10-15% of my goals, they are pivotal to my offensive manouvre.
If you play like that, Coman is your guy: he's blazing fast, he has amazing dribbling + 5*SM, he has good shooting and decent enough passing.
The best part about coman his is acceleration. sprint speed can be dodgy this year, but his bursts of pace in the first meters are outstanding, he can blitz pretty much everyone and he's super quick when he moves, absolutely top tier in this regard, no doubt about that.
he also has good positioning and makes solid runs down the wing, he seems to know well when to start a run behind the opponents or stay close to where the ball is being played. i think that has to be attributed to his somewhat conservative workrates combined with the player instructions i gave him. he has accurate long shots, especially finesses with that solid 84 curve. even if you dont nail the timing, if you take a shot not from an impossible angle you will have a dangerous shot at your opponent's goal which can results to a corner or a goal. surprisingly, he seems to finish a lot of 1v1, but his touch can be affected by low composure or just fifa bs when in the area in front of the gk.
the only major problems i have with him is his light physique and average weak foot.
his stamina has never been too much of a problem, i easily finish games with him still playing well on the 90th minute. also he does not have the best of passing, even though it's ok in general. he still does the job by do not play him like you would a hazard or a neymar. but that's part of why he costs a hell of a lot less than the both of them. they're definitely better than coman, but he's an amazing value for money player, i absolutely recommend him.
solid 8/10 for me
