Solid enough

I'm not too sure why this card is getting so much hate, which is why I decided to write this review. I found him to be a solid enough defender for the price that came with the sbc. His headers from corners were very good and allowed me to get 2 goals from 5 games. Sometime his work rate found him in a difficult position to recover from but as long as you get a pace chemistry style like shadow or anchor on him he'll be fine. Also make sure you utilise his long passing stat when looking for players out wide because he was often able to start attacks from the back. Look, I'm not saying this is the best defender in the game but if you have coins to spare then you should give it a go if he fits in your team.

You get what you pay for

I think a lot of people saw this sbc and thought it was a scam because you could get someone meta like Davinson Sanchez instead. Honestly this guy is so underrated. I recently decided to buy an Icon centre back (for sentimental reasons) and was short on coins afterwards. I realised that i still had Laporte in the club so I decided to give him a go and man was I surprised. He was much better than I expected in every single department. If you use an Anchor chem style you have the complete package. He is great on the ball and he can pick out long passes with no problem at all. He is also great in the air and is a presence at corner kicks. My only downside is...well... he isn't exceptional. Don't expect him to be as amazing as Van Dijk/Varane. He is a 50k centre back and you shouldn't expect more than that. Also, it could just be me but, he only plays well if he's playing with a good centre back partner so I wouldn't recommend building your defense around him.
