This card is good
By CLane12, 28-02-2019

I initially bought this card as an investment, hoping he'd rise in price post winter rating refresh. However, sadly, his price surprisingly dropped after the refresh. This may have been due to his injury, or simply because people over invested and then panic sold, but either way I decided to use him instead of lose coins. Reading the prior review I was worried, as I thought he may have not been that good. I started playing him as a Left CAM in the 4-2-3-1, because I thought his pace would be good for a left outside mid. However, he was horrible, wasn't involved, didn't produce anything, and just felt like a waste of space. As a result, his stats were something like 12 games with 2 goals 2 assists or something terrible. I wish that I had taken a screenshot at the time, because those stats were not at all reflective of the player.

I moved reus to the central CAM spot, and all of a sudden he is a completely different player. He felt faster, stronger, and just exponentially better then that player who was out wide. REUS IS GOOD POST PATCH! Do not be fooled or tricked by prior reviews, this player is very, very good. He can shoot on either foot with power or with finesse, with 4* weak foot and 91 Shooting. He can dribble quickly and with the use of skills, with 4* skills and 91 dribbling. And, luckily, he was fast, I was just using him incorrectly. After moving him to the central CAM he now was 51 goals and 28 assists in 58 games. That after his terrible start, is exceptional.

The most important thing I can say about this card, is that if Reus gets another inform returning from injury in these coming weeks, this card will be one of the best CAMs in FIFA 19. The only issue is his stamina, which is only a minor problem, and if that stat gets an upgrade, Reus is almost a perfect CAM. This card is currently worth about 750k, and is undervalued on the market. A good investment, because one more inform will place this card near a million coins.

I am an Elite 3/Gold 1 player in division 2 with about a 2200 skill rating consistently

Pace- Fast enough to run away from defenders and a quick enough turn of pace to lose midfielders in the center of the pitch

Shooting- Unbelievable, enough said. Set pieces or open play, doesn't matter, kid can shoot

Passing- Very good at passing, not the best, but very good

Dribbling- One of his best stats, very close ball control sharp turns and can dribble at speed

The only con is his stamina. And if you play him in a wide position he may not be as productive

Icon Status: Best Player for Bundesliga
By DowJonesMahomes, 13-03-2019

For starters, im a division 2 player who routinely competes in WL. I have a bundesliga squad but needed a cam to go along with havertz and was skpetical about dropping the cash on reus. But for some reason the price of this card tanked and a I couldnt resist. I put reus at the central cam role along with Jovic and Havertz as the other two. This card blew me away. If you ever play FUT Draft and use an icon or TOTY Ronaldo, you notice they are a step above and that exactly what Reus is. When defenders try to take the ball he does this little flicks to get passed and on 50/50 tackles the ball just seems to end up back at his feet. Hes even a great header of the ball against the best full backs in the game and actually burns Van Dijk and Ramos. Im also not the best at free kicks but every FK i do seems to be placed perfectly to force a crazy OP De Gea save or goal. I would say his nemesis is a CB with +83 pace/agility with 87ish+ defending. The tanks like Van dijk are no match but Kimpembe was able to hold his own. That is the kinda of player he his. Perhaps HIS BEST ATTRIBUTE isnt even a stat, I notice that my opponents double or even triple team him and leave rebic or Jovic wide open giving them space for easy goals and this is more important than the amount of goals he scores. You will win more with reus. Simple.

BEST:CREATES SPACE FOR OTHERS

Long Shots (yes, even against De gea)

Dribbling in tight situations

Headers against full backs

Finishing

Passing

Clutch

Solid investment

FK /Pk

MAYBE Stamina? (he had around 20% left in the 114' minute)

Defense(I like to press and since he has a low work rate I often find him leaving the RB open for back passes)

Reus, not so good post patch...
By barneywilson, 12-02-2019

Marco Reus oh what a relationship i've had with this guy this year. All I have to say is he was truly one of my favourite cards in the game I used everyone of his IF's and would have definitely completed is POTM cards if they weren't so pricey. So as soon as this card was released I knew I had to try him, I managed to pick him up for 585k which was a good price as he is now up at 640 and rising. I was so exited to use this card. I played 10 games... 0 goals... yes 0! I was so surprised Marco had been phenomenal for me all year, yet now he cant score for the life of him... It was just not what I was expecting of a card with 90 Positioning, 90 Finishing, 92 Shot power and 90 long shots?! There is only two explanations,

The first being that I have failed to adapt my game past the timed finesse META that Reus could so easily abuse

Or the second being that, it's not me its him... It could be that, Reus is just a waste of money and a waste of shooting stats, you can barley score from the outside of the box with anyone anymore, let alone a card with phenomenal shooting like Reus.

Anyway, in my personal experience this card fails to finish, he's miserable from the o?utside of the box and I found myself missed many Driven shots in the box with him. (they would always hit the post) I understand that this review is going to get down-voted to hell because thats what happens to all negative reviews, but I felt like I just needed to shed some light on what my experience was playing with this card. If you go out and purchase him I really hope he is a lot better for you, than he was for me.

  • Long shots supposedly, although they were poor for me. (exeptional long shots before the patch)
  • Pace, his pace was one of the only good things I noted in this card, he felt much quicker than is pervious IF's
  • Passing, passing was exactly as what the card says, nothing wrong with his passing.
  • Dribbling, he felt very silky on the ball. Good balance, ball control and agility.

  • Finishing, was very poor, he found himself in the box once or twice and game and the ball either hits the post from the driven shot or is dragged wide. Extremely frustrating from a card which displays 90 finishing as a stat.
  • Physicality, there is not much you can expect here originally, he is a small guy in real life, and is very easily shoved off the ball, gets bullied by Van Dijk, Varane, Ramos ect...
  • Stamina, very, very poor stamina especially if your play style is to press, he is always dead by the 70th minute, although this is something that is improved from his previous IF's it is still very poor.
