I always liked Marcelo in FIFA, and when he got 5star skills this year it was only getting better!

I think he's not solid enough for the LB position.. his defending is too low and combined with his low workrate, it was a no from me.

But I always loved Marcelo's attacking stats, so when he got this RM FutBirthday card I needed him so bad.

I didn't had the patience to wait for his price to go down, so i bought him right away and oh my... let's get to the review now!

I used him at RAM in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with marksman in Rivals (division 1)

Pace 9/10:

Excellent! He can outpace players as Alex Sandro. He isn't Mbappe, but looks a lot like neymar if we're talking about pace!

Shooting 9/10:

Also brilliant! With his marksman chemstyle he has that finishing boost and better longshots. You can shoot from everywhere you like! His 4star weakfoot helps him a lot, so he won't become predictable. His left foot is just deadly, outside the box... magical! Finishing is 8/10. I personally love the fact you can celebrate your goals with a player who is normally a defender.

Passing 9/10:

Perfect, never misplaced a pass.

Dribbling 10/10:

Oh boy, this is the part thing of this card! With marksman his dribbling wil give him the boost what brings him to a elite level. It's phenomenal, just as good as Neymar! But on top of that, Marcelo is a lot stronger than Neymar. Ofcourse he will get bullied by defenders as Ferdinand, but players as Sandro, Mendy, Alonso won't get him of the ball! You can turn in such small spaces that your opponent has no idea where to look. His 5 star skill makes sure you can humiliate people and score some sick goals!

Defending 8/10:

Actually you don't need defending stats for your RAM/RW, but no complaints from me! His low defensive workrate will keep him in front, so you can pass the ball to him and get past one or two defenders. Finally you will give a perfect pass to your striker, and complete the perfect counter attack!

Physical 7/10:

More than enough in my opinion! In the beginning of fifa19 I always played with players like Neymar and SIF Mahrez, who had none physical. Marcelo is pretty strong and will fight for every ball, the marksman chemstyle gave him that jumpboost so he can actually win headers.

Overall a great card! Highly recommended

Pace (9/10)

I gave him engine so he did have a slight pace boost but he felt very fast and was able to outrun a lot of defenders. High sprint speed, acceleration, and agility make this card feel faster than the you would think from looking at him.

Shooting (8/10)

I play with my wingers quite wide so he doesn't get into a lot of shooting positions, however when he does, he is certainly capable. His finishing is just average but his long shots from outside the box are excellent.

Passing (10/10)

Again, engine boosted his passing, but with vision (92), crossing (99), short pass (95), long pass (91), and curve (91) all in the 90s, his passing is terrific.

Dribbling (10/10)

With almost all of his dribbling stats in the upper 90s as well as 5*sm/4*wf he is one of the better dribblers I have played with. Ball at time seems as if it is glued to his feet and is very hard to dispossess.

Defending (8/10)

I love having outside mids with good defense that can win the ball back in attacking positions. While his defensive stats aren't what you would find in a defender, they are very good for an outside mid and he is great at winning the ball back high up the pitch. The drawback is his low defensive workrate so he does not come back and help out in defense as much as I would like.

Physicality (7/10)

His strength is not great, but he is certainly adequate at holding defenders off for a decent amount of time. Its also high enough to throw around a lot of other outside mids.

In summary, this is a terrific card for under 150k. He is a lot like Neymar, but with better defending and strength. I would certainly recommend trying him out.
