Fantastic Right Back
By Gvnrssll, 03-06-2019

I got Kimmich in my reds for this past weekend rewards and was not sold on it. I already have the likes of RTTF Alonso and Roberto Carlos as my wingbacks who do perfectly fine off chem and didn't know if Kimmich would make a spot in my team but once I gave him a chance he has proved he is good enough. Let me start off by saying in this review shooting will not be covered as I don't think i took a single shot with Kimmich because that is not my play style. However, with that being said looking at his in games and how he feels in other places in game I feel as if he would be a great shooter. His passing is the best I have used out of ANY player this year and it surprised me. He is great and would make a great CDM, or box to box CM if you want to play him there. He is good at dribbling for close play and stays very composed on the ball. He sometimes lacks the blistering pace but does the job when needed. He isn't super strong but poaches the ball by intercepting it before the attacker gains control or just sticks a quick foot in to get the ball. You can count on him to play all game at a high rate as he never gets tired. Overall, Kimmich is a great player that can play almost at any defensive position on the pitch with great passing and dribbling as well as the defensive skills to bail you out on many occasions.

Passing: Some of the best passing of any player I have used this year. He will rarely miss a pass, even with terrible gameplay, and can put balls on a tee for players to run onto. Long and Short passing is phenomenal and for good reason with his 97 passing base card stat.

Weak Foot: Can pass on any foot at a high rate. Great stat to have as he is able to string up build up passes on any foot and doesn't force you to switch only to his strong foot every time when he touches the ball.

Dribbling: He does very well with close quarters dribbling. He keeps the ball tight to him which makes it very easy to build out of the back on a counter. He feels agile on the ball with quick bursts of speed to weave around defenders.

Physical: With 99 stamina Kimmich can run all 120 mins if necessary and still plays as if he has full bar of stamina at all times. With high jumping, he wins a lot of headers to stop the cross heavy meta on the back post. He is also very aggressive causing him to lunge into tackles or go for interceptions on loose balls.

Defensive Positioning: Kimmich is surprisingly in good defensive position on stay back while attacking even with his work rates. The work rates sometimes let him down if you take him up the wing for a cross and he will slowly get back but usually he is ready to defend and is a very good shout for RB

Pace: This is a very weak con. He is not that slow on a shadow but there is a high difference between him and other more pacey full backs. He can catchup to most wingers of high pace or beat them to the ball but does it sometimes at the last second when I would have preferred him to get to the ball a lot faster than he did. Overall, his pace is not terrible but at this point in the game he leaves some to be desired with gameplay of high play down the wing with fast players.

Strength: Doesn't usually body the opponents off the ball or get into a tackle with full strength. He doesn't need to because he usually is in the right position for an interception or can just merely poach the ball off with a standing tackle. However, if he faces the likes of Ibra or any other strong bulky striker he will have a tough time on occasion.
