Good?

I bought martial from the transfer market for around 45k expecting great things. Martial is fast on and off the ball, and his strength is actually decent. I do have a problem with his composure. His shooting stats are not bad, but many clear chances have been squandered because of shots going wide or over the goal. His passing was ok, but nothing a chem style cannot fix. Overall, Martial is an electric winger with the ability to cut inside or cross, but my experience with his shot has been mixed.

Tony Martial Review
By Kogie13, 24-10-2018

Tony Martial was a beast for me last season. This season, it's been more of the same. I used Tony as a LM in a 4-4-2 with Catalyst chem to boost his weak passing stat. He seems more suited for wing play or in a formation like 4-3-2-1 but I was very satisfied with his play in the 4-4-2. He is a god at finesse shots and with the overpowering effect of them this season, it's almost a sure thing he scores when he pulls one of successfully. I was also amazed by his physicality. He holds his own well holding the ball against fullbacks and can beat big men in the back for headers (he scored most of his goals on finesses shots and headers). His pace is also very good and is amazing to get open for through balls and easily beat the defense. In terms of cons, his passing is like another Tony in Tony Romo. He can be very accurate in passing but also can easily be too strong or weak resulting in interceptions. Overall, he's just a bit inconsistent with passing without a good chem on him. Another con is stamina as he can get a bit tired late especially in games for me in Weekend League that went to OT. All in all though, Tony Martial is a great left midfielder or winger that's well worth the coins. From finesse shots to his physicality up front and down the lines, he can be a big difference maker and change the pace of the game. Just make sure you boost his passing with a chemistry style like Catalyst or Deadeye
