Here it goes. I needed to complete the French league Icon swaps objective. I had an okay Team Atal at rb Futmas Cavani at the top etc... I was only really worried about one position GK. I know Lecomte is an 82 and thats decent.. I also know that GKs are almost useless. I have used futmas De Gea, Van Der Saar, Ter Stegen and Navas. None have impressed me.
So I fire up my first game and I am a bit nervous. I need these wins to get my swap token right so I dont want to spend hours on each one. Either way I start up and I am playing a guy with Mbappe and Ben Yedder up top. Biggest Nightmare, all I could think of were the amount of goals that I would concede and the absolute waste of time this was. 7minutes in Ben Yedder sends a long through ball to Mbappe and he splits my CBs and is on a clean run on net. I am ready to huck my controller across the room when out of no where Lecomte dives to the opposite side of the net and tips the ball to the crossbar and out. I got my hopes up as this was a good sign, but it could have been luck. I assure you it was not. The corner is taken and Lecomte runs out and throws his body across the box to launch the ball into the stratosphere. By the time it hits the ground, He is back in position and ready for more and luckily too. For the next second Ben Yedder is on the ball dribbling through my defence, He sends a finesse shot to the wide side of the net and Who is there to grab it with his big greasy mitts? LECOMTE.
You may be asking... well that was only one series in one game and why should I trust you? well Lecomte finished the game with 18 saves. The other team had 60% possesion and 25 shots. Lecomte grabbed his first clean sheet for my team. I shouldn't leave out that my oponent tried to score a sweaty goal in the 80th and guess who was there to stop it? yup the man himself. Long story short in 5 games I had my Icon token and I replaced Futmas De Gea in my pl squad for a 4 Chem Lecomte. Has not let me down since.
