Old school defending. I've just finished my first weekend league with Silva at the back, partnered with Scream Romagnoli and can say that he's an excellent defender. High value for money, he always seems to be in the right place to intercept or make a tackle at the right time. (He makes a very high percentage of tackles) Obviously he's not the quickest or the strongest but in terms of pure defending, he's top class.
He's almost the type of defender you don't notice much, very solid and just does the basics of defending very well. He's not going to catch the eye by muscling anyone off the ball or outpacing them, but paired with a quick and strong defender (Romagnoli in my case), I think he makes a great defensive partner.
If you're the kind of player that relies on your anticipation and clean tackling taking care of opponents, you'll love this guy. If you're all about pace at the back, I'd warn against, although for 80k and a 90 rated player, might be worth giving him a go.
He picked up 4 MOTM performances for me in 27 Weekend League games, which is pretty impressive for a CB.

Used the base version during draft and was impressed (I only conceded 3 goals throughout) so I thought I'd give the POTM a chance:
The pace was good enough to work with when coupled with his positioning and tackling, his defensive performances were consistently 10's which in this current game is a rarity of itself. He was always putting in strong tackles and most of the time won me the ball back which again is rare with the current defending mechanics.
As much as I could praise his defensive attributes, his heading capabilities also contributed to a couple of goals from corners adding the cherry on top of an otherwise outstanding card and one that tempts me to build a Brazil themed team in order to continue using him with a more competitive team in future WL's. Would deffo recommend if you are unsure about him.

I packed Alisson untradable and decided to give Thiago Silva a try. I played about 70 Matches he managed to get 2 Goals and 3 assists (just 5 yellow cards).
After he break in he played very good. Positioning and standing tackle is top class, passing also. Strength is solid but nothing to special, most players get pushed away by him.
He plays good if you are patient in defending. He lacks acceleration but with the shadow its usable. The thing is you have to decide for aggression or pace, since with a shadow his aggression is to low to push very strong, not as if that is a weakness but it is not actually that good in comparison to VVD, Ramos and other Icons for example. All in all he is very solid and if you know how to defend manually he does what you want him to do, he saved my ass very often in the last quarte and he almost never commits big fouls.

The second ligue 1 player of the month, and what a player it is! Nobody was expecting this to happen.
Just like everyone else I voted for him to become the player of the month and ofcourse I had to make the sbc because his normal card is already a god!
So I used this guy for a whole weekend of fut champions and it was just amazing.
As expected he finishes everything when he is inside the box, left or right it doesn't matter with the 5* weak foot.
Outside of the box, just finess the shot and most likely the ball will go in. (unless the gk is Ter Stegen)
What else... Jumping! When he jumps, with his height of 170cm, he will win against defenders like van Dijk and Lenglet. The only downside is that if he wins the header, it's still fifa 20 so the header will go wide.
So the price for the sbc was around 100k. The fact that his OTW card is worth a lot more but has a lower rating is enough proof to make sure you just HAVE to make this card and at least use him as your supersub. But because of the French nation he wont be hard to link with the Dembele, Lenglet, Varane and Mendy everybody uses in this game.
