Everyone knows how important CDMs are especially in Fifa, but I'm not one who usually spends a crazy amount on players, (1 mil coin squad) and I usually try to save the bulk of that for my attackers and wingers. Yet, this man is the exception. I was making a new squad a few days ago and stumbled across this card looking for players I wanted to build my squad around, when I saw 95 PACE for a CDM, I knew this was someone I had to try. He is ridiculous. If you are using a sentinel on him no one is getting by this man. 95 pace lets you catch up to ANYONE, and I honestly mean it. Obviously there are exceptions, but generally speaking I think people reading this review know what I mean. If he's caught on the attack or in a position he should be if you take control hell be in the play in moments, he is super fast. The only con I would say in regards to his speed is I have picked up quite a few yellows because of him flying in, no matter how lightly you standing tackle sometimes he's just too fast. His strength is insane as well. Shoulder to shoulder there was not one player I came up against where he couldn't fight a guy off the ball. I haven't used any icons this year at the CDM Position, but I have used Kante, IF Ninja, SIF Ninja, IF Allan, FUTMAS Sissoko, SIF Doucoure, and I can tell you he is tied with Kante. He is an excellent player and for 225,000 coins I for sure think he is a must in any bundesliga team, as that league has many players for MUCH cheaper than they should be.
Ox Strength
Usain Bolt Speed at CDM (ILLEGAL)
Tackling ( also a con )
Overall defensive play/positioning
Stamina is mental
Sometimes tackles become yellows because of his speed
has to be a stay back while attacking CDM, zero offensive abilities
Boy, where do is start. I bought this guy about 2 weeks after he came out and he immediately was the best player on my squad. Since i dont play that much Fifa anymore, i have probably made approx. 60 games with him and haven't finished a weekend league at that time (so rivals div. 3, normally Gold 2/1). But he is sooo good it is a joke.
He looks like he is 190cm and plays like that, barely loses headers and his challenge range is ridiculous. Add in 95 Pace, 91 Strength, 99 Stamina and m/h work rates and u already know you've got a beast at CDM.
In my squad he played the more defensive part in a 4-2-3-1 Formation with offensive fullbacks and Mckennie playing the more offensive role. And i would argue, that besides TOTY Kante there wasn't a better player to do that job than Mbabu. He chases down counter attacks with ease, wins every challenge (99 Standing tackle and 95 Sliding tackle with Powerhouse) and is just literally everwhere, while also beeing able to handle shifty attackers, due to his good (not great) agility and balance stats.
With the Powerhouse chem style he has great passing stats to and can play every pass to open the game or initiate a counter attack after getting the ball.
This guy is just a phenomal player and every friend i had over was totally stunned by how good this guy is, give him a shot for a few games, and i promise, you won't go back.
Ps: his speed allows him to make some surprise runs through midfield and iniate attacks, even though thats not, what he is best at :p
