Day 1209 of lockdown: Welcome to the sweat fest folks! TOTSSF EPL was bound to bring some madness into the list of cards available, and it did not disappoint, with some cards even eclipsing their TOTY version. With the level of cards, it is no wonder that the grind was real this Weekend League and I was glad to have TOTSSF Salah fighting for the badge in my squad. If you follow me on Twitter: @IVIaeday you will know that I often turn to 94 Headliner Salah after my 20 game reviews are complete to get me over the line in the last 10. I was hoping that the 97 version would be exactly the same, with just minor improvements, and I was pleasantly surprised that this was exactly the case. After applying the FINISHER chemistry style I played Salah primarily in the Left ST of the 4-4-2, often finishing the last 25 – 30 minutes as a LM. Mo Salah, Mo Salah, Mo Salah … was running down the wing this weekend in the following squad:
Those ratings are not an optical illusion, this card is such a treat to use, and was a key addition to my squad this weekend. However, one illusion I did encounter was the difference between the pace of the in-game statistics and what I experienced in-game. The 99 ACCELERATION is there, every single sinew snapping ounce of force as Salah blisters away from his first touch. However, the 97 SPRINT SPEED was definitely not in full force and I found Salah’s top end to be lacking throughout the weekend. However, if your opponent is closing in for the kill you can utilize the incredible dribbling to manoeuver your way out of any situation. 99 AGILITY, 95 BALANCE, 97 BALL CONTROL …This card is seriously one smooth operator.
Linkability
Linkability Rating: 4/5
Similar to Thiago, Salah has an entire army of special carded Liverpool teammates to link. The bright and shiny addition of the EPL TOTSSF Squad is not hurting his links either. It is because of these options that I leave Salah at a 4/5 despite his incredibly difficult nation to link. Unless you completed Moments Trezeguet and really enjoy that card, there is nothing else to get the Egyptian into intricate hybrid options.
End Game Strength
End Game Strength Rating: 5/5
There was a brief moment that I had this category at a 4.5/5 despite the endless supply of ammunition in Salah’s possession. The key here was the 3 STAR WEAK FOOT. Why they couldn’t give this card the “Jamie Vardy Treatment” and boost his WF I do not know. Yet, I still went for a 9.4/10 in the shooting department and Salah earned every single rating point. The left foot on this card is about as close to a sure thing as I have used. Incredible power (99 SHOT POWER) and accuracy (99 FINISHING) combine to create a cannon, with homing missile precision. Of course with the FINISHER attached Salah is 99 rated in every Shooting category, save for his penalties. However, I still come back to the 3 STAR, which is ultimately holding this card back. I still scored goals on his right leg, but it cannot be trusted and is why I can see this card being moved to the back of the queue in due time.
Value/Coins & Good vs. Bad
Value/Coins Rating: 5/5
Good vs Bad Rating: 5/5
1.2 million as of this writing… and honestly, whether he drops more at rewards, or goes up out of packs, I think any number under 1.3 for this card is good value. There are comparable options in that price range, but I have not yet used a card with this level of left stick dribbling, mixed with the quick burst acceleration, followed by the lethal injection left foot. 93 Stoichkov and 95 Maradona offer some good comparable(s) in the 3 STAR WEAK FOOT category and honestly lead me to think that Salah is even a bit low honestly.
25 goals and 7 assists in 20 matches during the EPL TOTSSF SWEAT FEST 2020. It has a nice ring to it and really speaks to the level that this card can produce. Lost in the mix of Salah’s impressive statistics is just how good the passing is with this card. Whether breaking down intense team press or breaking down the 1 depth drop back, Salah has the pinpoint accuracy required to get the ball into tight spaces… and then his movement off of the ball does the rest of the work to create key chances when it matters.
Closing Words
Last but not least I did want to spend just a few words talking about the strength with this card, the key detail being that he actually has some. I was pleasantly surprised with the ability to hold off defenders and to ride tackles of bigger opponents throughout the weekend. Again, this was beneficial when opponents tried to press up the pitch and use their CBs to pin me in… as well as against the drop back squads bouncing off tackles in the box to get those precious shots on goal. In the end, I would be absolutely made up to get this card in any of my rewards this weekend, but if not I think I will look to bring him back in the future as I build my end game squad. In the end, if you are looking for a dynamic ST or a creative winger you could do a lot worse than the Egyptian King… he helped me climb the Elite 3 pyramid all weekend, and I know he could do the same for you. Cheers for reading.
To start, I was just hoping for TOTY Mane to drop so i could pick him up and use him this weekend league. When the team came out, I saw Salah 97 had similar stats to Mane, and personally I get more satisfaction out of left footed players. I was lucky enough to pick him up for 1.4 mil at the start, and after only 10 games, I dont see myself taking the money on him (at the time of writing, he is about 1.6). I am an elite player, have finished elite 3, 2, and 1 most recently, and he is incredible. I used the basic chemstyle to max his pace, dribbling, get the shot power up since his finishing is already 99, and also boost the strength and passing. I used other versions of him, but obviously nothing compares to this. I play him at ST in a 4231 narrow with 1POTM Messi behind him at CAM, and Salah outshines him by a mile. After the 10 games he has 17 goals and about 7 assists, and I wouldnt say he is better than Mane, but he is still an endgame card. There are several pros and only a few cons, but several of my boys roast me since they would never consider using him due to his standout con, which Ill get to.
His pace is nastyyyy. Feels so fast, I guarantee he will run past your Sergio Ramos on 7 chem if the through ball is timed just right. His shooting is deadly, both finesse and power. He has the finesse shot trait and outside the foot shot trait, so he will adjust to whatever angle you are positioned in. He also has the chip shot trait, but I havent tried that out really. His dribbling is lights out, his L1 dribbling on PS feels like Messi/Maradona, and his acceleration after opening up space is unstoppable. His passing is unquestionably good, havent had an issue with it. He also feels surprisingly physical, and he does feel decently strong when running, doing the fake shot cut in, and shielding the ball. Due to his high reactions as well, he always is first to the ball and can maintain possession, this is the stat I believe contributes most to the 'sticky' feeling. I played him at ST but he can play anywhere across the attack. I recommend ST or RAM, for the finesse shots far post.
The only con I can think of really is his 3* weakfoot, which you are probably thinking of. This can make him somewhat predictable, but because he is so good at dribbling and he is rapid, opening up space on the left foot hasn't really been a problem. I use 91 Son, and although he is quality and has the weakfoot, getting into shooting positions is easier with Salah. With the outside the foot shot trait, even when most players would line up to shoot on their right, he hits it with the left still, which is his saving grace. Also another con is that he doesnt have 5* skills, so he cant scoop turn, but if you rely on scoop turn to win, you should reevaluate yourself.
So i packed salah a few minutes after the premier league tots dropped and i was buzzing, he is amazing up to where i play him, he finishes everything even from outside the box and his finesse shots is deadly, he feels really good on the ball and can cause chaos in any defence with his amazing pace, shooting and agility.
He can finish everything
Really fast
Amazing on the ball
Stamina (can last the whole game)
Strengh
The only real con is that he has 3* weak foot but it isnt that noticeable.
Heading buy that doesnt really make a difference in this fifa.
Ok so I did the 89+ upgrade pack for free because I had the fodder and was expecting gold Busquets and Ter stegen but what I was greeted by was beyond anything Ive seen, I got 99 Lewandowski and 97 Salah In the pack. As a player who never spent coins on packs, you can just imagine my reaction when i received over 1 mil pack value. But coming back to the point, this card is absolutely broken. I played him up top as striker along with the 99 Lewandowski, and I have to say he somehow overshadowed the highest rated card in the game. Although Lewandowski is an absolute cheat code. This card is on another level. You cannot begin to comprehend how well this card exploits space. He can do everything, including passing, as you may know is an absolute pain in this game. ill be going a little more in depth of the cards stats now:
Pace: 99 Acceleration and 97 Sprint Speed, thats it, thats all Im saying
Dribbling: 97 Ingame Dribbling with 99 Agility, thats it, thats all Im saying.. No Im just kidding.... His dribbling is amazing, it may seem a little underwhelming in the beginning, but once you understand and get comfortable with the cards mechanics, you'll realize the guy keeps the ball extremely close to his feet. Quick turns, quick legs, and quick lefts and rights are all in this cards repertoire. This card is generally in very good positions in which he just needs to use his pace to break through and score, but he can also take on over 4 players at once with just his left stick dribbling.
Passing: This was something that really surprised me, as you may know, a lot of the time high passing stats on TOTSSF forwards doesnt mean anything because the passing in this game is garbage, but this card is surprisingly good at passing, you can feel the great short passing in the game because this card dished out assists like crazy, if through balls were an in game attribute, this man would have 99 because this card can make defense cutting balls which are incredible, his long passing is nice too
Shooting: oh man OH MAN! I never expected this to be the highlight of the card over his dribbling, but damn. This is where this card is worth the money, suited better on his left, as long as you take the shots on that side, it IS DEFINITELY GOING IN. Man has the best shooting animations in the game. 99 positioning is what here here for, man makes superb runs and 99 finishing just finishes things nicely. And yes, Im getting to the elephant in the room, 3 star WF. Im so done with this games forbidding meta, that Salah meets anyway, to care about the 3 star WF. In the games Ive played so far, his weak foot is not a problem. if you do find him on the right, I would recommend a simple left ball roll, get the ball on his left foot, and the Outside foot trait, which works an absolute charm, will get the job done. Traits are obviously important and Salah has Outside Foot and Finesse which make his finishing experience even more worth while, I used the marksman chem style on him which makes his shot power absolutely insane. I would say this is my favorite attribute of this card and honestly felt it would have been wasted on the flanks.
Defending: Umm..... i did find the 99 reactions very helpful because when he lost the ball he would immediately pounce to try and get it back, so thats great.
Physical: Really like this about the card, really surprising, even though he doesnt have the bulk he is strong and extremely aggressive, combine that with his immense speed, helps you guard the ball from a defender and then break away from them and score a goal
So overall I gave him a 5/5 because this guy is an absolute cheat code. I gave him Game changer 5/5 because man bailed me in two games when i was losing by 2 goals, Stamina speaks for it self. The only reason I gave Value for money 4.5/5 is because i saw that TOTSSF Aguero and TOTSSF Werner were in a similiar price range and you may want to choose them for the WF but I would still say this card would still be worth it, but what do i know? I got him for free :D Lol.
So that concludes my review, I know no one must have read all of it, word to word, so in a nutshell, great pace, passing and dribbling but the stand out of this card is clearly its shooting. Dont mind the WF, as long as you play him as a left striker you should be fine.
Shooting
Positioning
Pace
Shot Power
Agile drilling and quick reactions
Passing
None ( I honestly didnt have problem with the 3 star WF)
When I did the Prem TOTSSF sbc i was praying for a good attacker to fit into my squad. As soon as I saw the Egyptian flag, I knew I just got a massive attacker and a massive win from the sbc. After using for 12 games, He felt so good in almost all areas of his game. In those 12 games he got 9 goals and 4 assists which isn't a bad return at all.
Pace: 10/10
As they say Mo salah is running down the wing, and he can really burst past defenders with ease.
Shooting: 10/10
I love the shooting on this card as his shots are so powerful and good since he has got 99 finishing and positioning along with his finesse shot trait.
Passing: 9/10
His passing is generally good is just that he can occasionally misplace a few passes.
Dribbling: 10/10
He feels nice and smooth on the ball and can glide past opponents and move from side to side really quickly
Defending: 5/10
He does intercept passes on a few occasions, but you will not really need to be defending with him anyway
Physical : 9/10
He feels quite strong as he can hold off defenders really well and his 96 stamina is also really nice to have
Closing words: This card definitely has everything apart from his 3* star weak foot, his is definitely worth it as long as u get him under a million coins
I´ve already got Salah from my Fut Champs player picks and was totally hyped to get him this year as well. Im always between Gold 3 and 1 in Fut Champs and got him and Henderson from my Gold 2 Picks. In- Game I play him in a 4222 as the right striker with Marksman and he´s absolutely brilliant. Considering his 3* Weak Foot I thought it would be a weakness, but he scores from every Point on the pitch with his left foot, so you kind of don´t really need his right foot. I think that´s because of the Outside Foot shot and the finesse shot traits. Inside of the Box he scores with his right foot as he wants and he also scores headers from time to time. After playing him for 88 games, he scored 110 goals and 29 assits. I Think those would have been more if my second striker wasn´t Totssf Vardy.
Pace
Shooting (Outside Foot Shot and finesse Shots are OP)
Dribbling and Agility
Strength
Flair Shots
Sometimes the Weak foot, but as I said his left foot is from another planet
Best forward I used this FIFA outside Draft. He's so quick and agile, and somehow hard to push off the ball despite his size. His left foot is deadly, finesse, power or chip, there's only one outcome- goal. Surprisingly, his right foot is not too bad either, 9 times out of 10 he won't have trouble beating the goalkeeper with his weaker foot.
