Here we are, after waiting for almost one year we finally get an upgraded version of the most "I don't know how the hell his gold card is so good" player, Mr Lenglet himself. Now to be honest in the early stages of the game I hated this card so much, honestly. His stats weren't that special compared to other 80+ defenders but he played like he was a god damn 99 rated from the start.
It's not any different with this one: he is, as he always was, so so so OP! I mean take a look at these stats: 91 Acceleration, 99 Reactions, 97 Control, 99 Composure, 98 Defensive Awareness, 95 Interceptions. Strikers will simply walk towards him, see him, give him the ball and let themselves get subbed off. So much for the theoretical part. Usually I like to test players at least 4-5 games, since every game is different, especially regarding what type of opponent you get: good, not so good, skill spammer, meta teams, normal teams. It always needs some games to make sure a player can perform against anyone, but with this one I noticed early on that he can keep up with the bad boy CBs easily. In times where everyone has a 90+ defense and stats are maxed out anyway it comes to the SB being as less clunky as posiible, he has to stick to his position, have fast reactions and a huge amount of the secret stat thats called "How much does EA love this player" and when it comes to that stat Lenglet had 99 since last September anyway. Hes always in position, is super fast, hits opponents like a meteor - even huge, physical strong players like Ibra or Lewa are a joke to him - and for a CB has nice dribbling.I mean honestly, you knew it before reading this review: this card is super op, super meta and super linkable since he is (what a surprise) french! Looking at the price that is really fair, there is no doubt wether you should do him or not!

Pace, dribbling, defensive/physical stats, the "lucky factor"
So let's start with a simple question..Which defender scares you the most?? For me it's flashback militao, and after him here comes the new beast!! Hands down, the best center back in the game! First of all i need to tell you that i am not very good at defending, and i finish like gold 2 every week. Completed him and tried him out in the weekend league, after 7 games i can assure u he's broken, his defensive positioning is world class, how aggressively this guys tackle and intercepts everything is unbelievable. Conceded 2 goals in these 7 games with 5 clean sheets thanks to him... If you come across this guy, he will give u a hard time coz even bad defensive players like me can use him :) But if you have him, he is definitely a game changer!
This guy is an absolute beast! Got him for the strong links to ter stegen and mendy, and figured he'd be big improvement over storyline Umtiti.
Boy was I right! This guy is fast as hell and is absurdly strong. For example, he caught up to tots rashford from behind and bodied him! My jaw literally dropped. I have him on shadow, and don't think anchor is needed at all as he feels incredibly strong, as strong as any other cb I've used. Plus, his 4 star weak foot is a plus, and he's great at switching play or hitting long diagonal passes to wingers. I ended up using my fodder to get him for free, but even with the full price, I think he is absolutely worth it. To compare, militao is going for more...
one of the strongest and quickest CBs I've used
Beast on the ball
4 star weak foot
The only thing I can conceivably think of is his Agility and Balance, and but even at that, he feels really good on the ball, with his 97 dribbling and 99 reactions
i spent all my remaining fodder getting this guy, spent my wholw club. but it was worth it. i pair him up with hummels, davies and lala as a back 4. hes by far the most complete defender on the game. unlike hummels who is insane at pure defending, lenglet is quick as well, and can dribble, as well as physical too. cant go wrong with him, best cb in the game.
