Player Review
89 - Normal
Aguero, truly old but gold.
Now yes, Aguero might be already not good enough for your team, his stats do not stand out at all, but since I took a massive break I decided to completely restart with a brand new team 4 weeks ago. My striker for the past two weekend leagues was Sargent (86), he was doing incredibly well, but with just packing Sterling from a 2 gold player pack, I knew that I had to get a new striker. I was first skeptical about Aguero, I could have bought a midfielder or IF Gabriel Jesus to chemistry with the addition Sterling made and I am glad that I didn't buy anyone else. He has his problems, but I overlooked those with his amazing shooting ability and a great amount of dribbling, all of this brought me to a conclusion that he still has it towards these times were the first TOTS has come out. Anyways, here are the stats.
Aguero playing ST at a 4-2-3-1 formation, partnered with GOLD 84 Goretzka at CAM, GOLD 88 Sterling at RM, and 84 UCL Coman was formidable, at first when I bought him, I consistently was thinking that Sargent was overall better, which is still something I debate today and am currently trying to partner the two up. Now, he looks like a proper CF/ST type. In the 30 WL games he played he banged in 39 goals and placed in 16 assists to add to that, 30 games and 55 goals involved in, with this help I managed with a 185 team to pull out with Gold 1 which is a new record for me in this FIFA 20. These are unbelievable numbers, especially for a player who stands at 5'8 so he won't get any headers, 80 PACE so he isn't blistering quick even with Hawk on he felt sluggish, and also a small 74 PHYSICALITY which really feels like 60 at times. Anyways, what I think.
- Shooting: Something he is lethal at, whether you are playing against Ter Stegen, Neuer, Alisson, Van Der Saar, whoever, he manages to blast shots past them, finesse, chips, regular good old power, he has it all with him. Comparing to Sargent he really beats him in finishing, his shots are out of this world and with HAWK on it boosts it up to 95, feeling more like 99. Overall an amazing finisher, clinical, smart, everything you want. His weak foot is also good so I trust him with most shots. Long Range was an issue, even when it wasn't too far the shots were consistently wide of the goal. But overall I give him a 9/10.
- Dribbling: The best thing he holds, which kind of surprised me, the only defender I had a problem with was VVD who I faced around 8 - 12 times, but, against other defenders, he can glide past them, and 4* Skills really shows that he is good with the ball on his feat. Many of the goals I scored was dribbling through a whole defence with Aguero, something that I hoped for, but was amazed on how Messi-esque his dribbling is. 10/10
- Passing: 16 assists, 30 games, a striker who sometimes went into the CAM position. Not bad at all, his job wasn't to get more than 30 assists, but it was to SCORE! He did both brilliantly, I was not let down with his through balls when either Coman, Sterling, Goretzka or even in late second half / extra time Sargent. I saw a large difference with my attacking midfielders from the Sargent time to the Aguero time, when Sargent was playing, or previously Rashford, they didn't really score, this time Goretzka had a nice 19 goals to his name with Sterling getting 12 and Coman banging in 9 goals too. 8 / 10
- Pace: When I purchased Aguero, I thought that I needed to change my play style, to use my midfielders more, to make space for him to unleash his shot. However, obviously, there were numerous occasions where he was through on goal and the likes of Theo Hernandez, Akanji, VVD, Ramos, and more would catch up to him and push him off the ball. Even with Hawk it didn't help, and I hope that when I get him on a Hunter he will change this lack of speed. 6/10
- Defending: Does not matter but made good attacking interceptions that led to goals.
- Physicality: The real problem, he will never win a fight, I mean never, for me, Semedo, Jordi Alba, TAA, and ANY CDM who managed to get shoulder to shoulder would obliterate Aguero, he would be flat on the floor so I really had to use his passing and dribbling abilities to my strengths as no physical challenge would win. 4 / 10
- Set pieces: I never really got a grip with penalties this year, even though I know how to aim them now, I usually would shoot in the middle, which 80% of the time would lead to a goal, so Aguero scored pens. Free kicks were his job too unless Bale came in from the bench, he scored 2 this WL which isn't bad. No corners for him though. 6/10
- Shooting - 9 / 10
- Passing - 8 / 10
- Dribbling - 10 / 10
- Pace - 6 / 10
- Defending 3 / 10 (Does not matter)
- Physicality 4 / 10
