Player Review
91 - TOTS
Recently I wrote a review on Semi Ajayi - being a West Brom fan, I felt it only fair to write one on King Matheus as well. Thankfully his price dropped to 215 on Xbox and I was happy to buy him at that price. And no, if you're on laptop, I still haven't figured out how to put the text 'normally', so I'm again sorry about that.
Onto why you're here. I play Pereira up front in either a 442 or 352 formation with a high press set up. I use a hunter on him to really boost that pace (99) and give him properly nice shooting (94 with a hunter). I'd say that the pace boost might not be neccessary for him but it's the way I play so it benefits me. A sniper may be good to boost the composure up to 85 or maybe a maestro turning him into a 94 rated CAM. There are many pros with only one real con with this card - let's get into them.
On a side note - I wrote this in the Ajayi review but I do wish you and your families well at this difficult time.
His pace is incredible with a hunter, but even with a non-pace-boosting chem style I think it would be more than adequate, especially at CAM where most of you will play him.
He's lke Messi on the ball - so agile and the ball sticks to his feet like it's got Gorilla Glue on ffs.
His passing is second to none - I didn't notice the 74 long passing affect him at all.
Really cool in front of goal. Has missed one or two fairly easy chances, but is there any player who scores EVERY SINGLE SHOT?
Stamina means he keeps going all game.
Decent strength for a card like this - he can't mix it with players like Sol Campbell, but he has knocked players like Saul and Kante off the ball a few times for me.
4* skills is tidy, would obviously be nice if it was 5 but 4 is great for me.
Great Brazilian links (Neymar, Cunha, Lucas Moura to name a few) and some tidy Championship links as well - that frankly RIDICULOUS Phillips card as well as the new Watkins, Benrahama, Rooney and McGeady (if you did those cards), Eze and Swift (changing his position to CDM gives a strong link to Ajayi the absolute unit of a man
Many people don't know he's left footed (shhhhhh), so it is surprisingly easy to cut inside and get the shot away
Really nice free kicks and corners - they literally go exactly where you aim them (now I know that's what you hope for but he's consistently good at this - some players I've used aren't).
Yes, the three star weak foot has to be mentioned at some point sooner rather than later. It's a real bum on the card, but using it isn't bad at all. It's not as reliable as a 4 or 5 by any means, but with his ridiculous stats the 3* right foot can get you out of a pickle a lot of the time.
For some players his cost (200 ish) may be steep, but if you struggle for coins and can get this guy, I'd definitely recommend him.
Links if you don't run a Brazil / Championship team
Maybe defending but it's not bad and if you play him at CB with a sentinel he's actually a 73 rated CB - the more you know, eh
