Player Review
96 - TOTS
So I've had some great pack luck this past week. TOTS Salah untradeable from rivals rewards. TOTS KDB untradeable from a PL upgrade pack. TOTS Richarlison tradeable from the Brighton league sbc I completed with players I got from the upgrade packs. This guy was just icing on the cake. I was hoping for a la liga CB to link with Reguilon objective and pair up with my untradeable Maldini (I was honestly most interested in Diego Carlos), when this guy popped out of my third 82+ la liga upgrade. Well, let me tell you: Diego Carlos has been forgotten. I'm sure he's great, we all know how broken his 86 rated UEL RTTF card is, but this Ramos is worth every penny and more. Let me tell you why.
-Ramos is incredibly fast. I have an engine chem style on him which gives him upper 90s pace and agility and balance that most centre backs cant touch. These factors combined let him easily catch up to the fastest of attackers. I can't tell you how many times my opponents have thought they were in alone when Ramos has come out of nowhere, overtaken them, and either taken the ball away or forced them to turn, hold up and wait for support.
-As mentioned, he is very agile. He feels incredibly light on his feet, turns well, and most importantly, doesn't feel the least bit clunky. As most people know by now, if you want an agile CB, go for Ramos. This also makes him an excellent defender if you're like me and you want to take manual control of your centre backs.
-He wins the ball. We all know how little strikers like Ben Yedder seemingly have the ball glued to their feet. We all know how big attackers can sometime push you off. Well, just like in real life, TOTS Ramos is a competitor extraordinaire. He makes sure he gets the tackle in and he makes sure give the attacking player a shove for good measure. You may want to be careful though, his ultra aggressive nature may cause him to go right through an opponent's ankles from behind if you're trying to win the ball from a player who is shielding (although he strangely doesn't get called for too many fouls doing this). If he doesn't get the ball the first time, he makes sure to kick it far enough away so that it doesn't bounce right back to the opponent. At that point, its a 1v1 to the loose ball and Ramos wins that every time by shouldering the opponent out of the way and picking up the ball for himself.
-His work rates are not a problem. His positioning is exceptional.
-Ramos is a very good passer and is good with the ball at his feet. I actually used him at CAM to get assists with a defender for the Reguilon objective and he held his own there. I wouldn't play him there permanently- he doesnt have the skill moves, weak foot, and defending, but he's 100% in the uppermost echelon of centre backs when it comes to passing the ball and with the ball at his feet. He's calm under pressure and always picks out the right man.
-He has excellent links. Militao SBC, TOTS Varane, TOTS Reguilon (a "free" end game LB), TOTS Carvajal, TOTS Courtois, TOTS Casemiro, etc etc, along with a whole host of soft link options from la liga, and any icons you might have. I currently have him paired with middle Maldini who I got from icon swaps at CB and they make a fantastic duo but I can easily slot an upgrade for Maldini in the form of Varane or Militao into the team when im ready to do so. I suspect he would pair well with almost any centre back you choose to link him to.
-Ramos might be the best CB I have ever used, and I've used almost every elite tier CB the last few years. Give him a try and you won't regret it. He has a unique skillset that will be difficult for any of the other CBs in this game to match.
