Verratti - Mini Midfield Magician

Let me start by saying I would definitely be defined as a casual on FIFA, but even I find Marco Verratti to be one of the more under-rated cards in FIFA 20. He laces up in RDM, but later gets switched to central CAM (the formation being used is the standard 4-2-3-1) in-game. With his high defensive and medium attacking work rate, you would be forgiven in thinking he would go missing up front, this could not be further from the truth. His exceptional agility and passing combined with his boosted defensive stats make him the perfect player for link-up play and quick turnovers.

He boasts impressive base-stats with 91 dribbling and 86 passing. But the key stats that you can really feel in-game are his agility (92), balance (95), composure (96) and short passing (92). He feels untouchable on the ball, with quick turns and inch-perfect through balls ideally suited for this year's FIFA. To add to his already impressive passing and dribbling stats, he has 4*4*!

With shadow boosting his defensive abilities, he often wins the ball for you in the opponent's final third. I suspect this is largely due to his base 90 aggression.

Unfortunately his shooting does let him down, especially his long shots (58), and he won't be winning any Puskas awards for your side, but his composure and 4* WF helps a lot in tucking away 1v1s.

His physicality is also something left to be desired, but this is hardly ever noticed in CAM, as he has turned away from any potential defender before you can get shoulder-to-shoulder with him.

He is far from an engine, but he certainly feels like one in-game, or for the first 3 quarters of it at least. His stamina of 78 is not great, but not terrible. However due to his high defensive work rate and him being in CAM, you will often find him providing support to your CDMs even when it is not needed.

Overall this card is my playmaker extraordinaire and with that strong link to Herrera or Gueye, his physicality and size often goes unnoticed.

Agility - He feels like he can go past the best of them with ease; Balance - when it comes to 50/50 challenges, it takes a tank to knock this man off his stride; Interceptions - Boosted with shadow, he manages to intercept a lot high up the field; Passing - Short (92), Long (91) and Vision (89) make him an assist machine; Aggression - He has a never give up feel, which often results in him winning the ball back

Shooting - He will not be scoring screamers for you, but his composure and 4* WF make the simple finishes acceptable; Sprint Speed - boosted with shadow (61) will not be able to catch up to the speedsters over long distance, but his boosted 70 acceleration feels much faster in game due to his agility; Physicality - His strength and aerial ability is almost non-existent, do not excpect this man to be making headed clearances or to be pushing anyone off the ball

Verratti - Annoyingly Good

Honestly, his stats don't look very promising for a CM, especially the speed and shooting.But don't let them fool you! I bought this card on day one and it is still in my team.
