The best striker
By SebbeWesse123, 16-11-2019

So Ian Wright, I have played him in striker in a 4231 infront of ozil, Maddison and zaha and he is just unbelievable he take runs that no one els would and he almost finishes all of his shots. but at first I didn't think he was that good but that changed now he scores about 3-4 goals per game. his passing isn't that good but I works. his dribbling is actually very good. a similar player is pot osimhen which I think is a very good player with similar stats. the player instructions that I use is stay central, get I n behind and stay offensive

the wright man for the job
By aguerooooooooo, 28-12-2019

I picked Ian wright in the first icon swaps and it was one of the best decisions I have had in fifa 20. I was first gonna get rio Ferdinand but at the last second I switched to Ian wright. him with a hunter has been one of the best strikers in the game for me. he combines insane pace and insane shooting and it works perfectly for the meta of the game and the way that I play. some of the goals I have scored with him have been insane. he has also scored a lot of important goals that have won me ages

-shooting

-pace

-strength

-game changing ability

-passing

-dribbling

-sometimes goes missing in games

-only usable at striker

Just Believe Him, He is a goal machine
By alparslan13, 18-04-2020

I opened this account just for writing this review. First of all, I used him with a Hunter Chem and as a Striker in several formations, 4-3-3(4), 4-3-1-2, 4-3-3 (3) and so on. Lastly, I have used him in 4-2-3-1 and gave the instructions; stay central, stay forward, conservative interception AND HE WAS AMAZING IN ALLLLL FORMATIONS, Formation doesn't differ for that guy, it doesn't matter he is alone or playing with a partner, he just doing one thing. HE IS SCORING.

Yes, as you can see from the stats his passing is a lil bit low, and yes you feel that in the game, he makes some mistakes, but mostly he gives the basic passes without problem. Actually he is not making assists that much at least for me he worked like that, I also played with depay(86), mallen(87), mbappe, son(88) all of them making more assists under my control. However, this guy dont need to pass or assist because he will compensate his mistakes by scoring 2 impossible goal.

Yes, as you can see his agility stats are a little bit low and balance also relatively low when you compare with the strikers who you used with quick dribbling, however he is not that much clunky, yes sometimes he feels clunky but sooo rarely. So If he doesn't be a little bit clunky this card would be around 700K or more maybe. But actually you dont need that much agility with this guy because with a quick step to his right, you can shoot directly, at that moment you will forget all the cons about that card because that shoot will be a certain goal.

His pace is enough not flying like mbappe but still its more than enough. Surprisingly I like his physical condition, he always plays 90 minutes and 120 and also cant get abused by any of the defenders. Nobody can bully this guy, nobody. If somebody try to bully Ian Wright he will take the ball to his right and score the banger.

CONSEQUENTLY AND MOST IMPORTANT THING, This guy will not change your teamplay or sometimes you can't see him for 60 minutes but somehow at the end of the game you will see that IAN WRIGHT is going to referee and taking the match ball since he did a hat-trick.

He Scored REALLY IMPOSSIBLE GOALS FOR ME. HE TOOK A LOT OF MATCHES JUST BY HIS SCORING ABILITY. He never misses inside the penalty box and he curves perfectly behind the penalty box. Moreover he scores a lot on touch goals inside the penalty box while he was in a really hard situation. SMALL NOTE HE CAN SCORE WITH BOTH OF HIS FOOTS.

JUST BUY THIS GUY YOU WILL NOT REGRET.

GAME CHANGER GOALS YOU CANT BELIEVE

Sometimes he feels clunky (can be a problem for some people who wants to dribble till the end of the game...)

Biggest problem is passing (if you are a guy who use the striker as a false 9 then IAN WRIGHT is not for you)

Very influential on the pitch
By p3rdy17, 11-12-2019

This man is insane. His shooing is so smooth. Put him on his (w)right foot and my god he can score. I use him in 442 with 89 klose as his partner and wright outperforms him quite a lot (even tho klose is also amazing up top). Use an engine on him and play him as a CF role in the 442 (stay central and false 9) coz his passing and possession play is very very good. This does mean he won't always be in a scoring position but he can create them as well. I would very much recommend getting him from icon swaps or buying him when he comes out as he is kinda broken. If you currently have his baby or mid, I do recommend upgrading and yes he is slower but an engine can fix that

  • Finesse shots from outside the box
  • His finishing mainly in the box is near to perfect (he's no pele)
  • his dribbling with engine is good (yet again, he's no pele)
  • his link up play
  • 4* wf is key
  • stamina - never have to take him off
  • when keeper comes rushing out he's able to easily slot it past him
  • his agility is surprisingly good
  • 3* skills
  • strength up against most cb's (that's why play false 9)
  • not having high attacking wr but that's just my preference

Incredible
By ZackkFairr, 27-11-2019

I should start by warning I am a huge arsenal fan, the current players are OK but this card looked special. That's the whole reason I chose this card for my swap! I thought he looked fun, his stats with an engine are incredible but I was worried he would feel sluggish and unresponsive. He doesn't! Honestly right now he is my favorite striker, so lets get into the details.

I play him at Left Striker beside Reus in a Bundesliga team.

I will return in a week or two after a WL run with him and update you on his ability there.

Shooting - Left foot, right foot and headers! This cards shooting in and around the box is incredible. Even when I think I have hit the post or it's going wide it creeps in.

Dribbling - With an engine Wrighty is incredible with the ball at his feet, he dribbles like Henry and that is impressive. (I have Reus beside him and this card blows Reus out of the water.)

Pace - 94 with an engine is great! And it will be until at least January. He will likely be a starter for me until March possibly longer depending on how poor my luck is.

Physical - Stamina to last into extra time and decent other physical stats for a short fast striker. To note his jumping seems better than card value, this card is oddly great at winning headers under challenge.

Passing - His passing stats are fairly poor. His link up play can be a problem sometimes so keep it simple and let him make the final runs!

Skill moves - I am not much of a skiller but sometimes you wish you could be that little more flamboyant, but in honesty 3* is OK for this year.

Work rate - I prefer H/M strikers to be honest. They seem that much more willing to run behind and win the ball. That being said this card is still my favourite striker this year so it's not much of a problem, but he would be noticeably better with it.

Defense - He tends to stay my player up from corners, but his ability to win headers in the opponents box doesn't translate to defensive help.
