First off let me start off by saying that I played with Mata in div 3 and div 2 rivals. Check out the squad I used him in (attached) if you wish.
I will just make this a short and sweet review. Mata is a great CB for any starter team. He is very quick and he can catch up to any attacker, especially in the early stages of fifa, with the lack of Mbappes and high tier players like that. I use an anchor on him, and that makes him even faster. He wins many defensive battles and is a clean tackler. Because of his pace and 87 agility, he feels very good to jockey and control, meaning that he goes in with aggression and wins the ball. On the ball, he feels comfortable to dribble with, with his 77 dribbling. His passing is good enough and he can pass the ball out of defence well. Sure, he might be 5'11" but his 89 jumping (anchor boosts it to 99) makes him great in the air. However, just don't expect him to always win headers over much taller opponents. Lastly, he does have high/high workrates, which can bother some people, but I find his positioning fine.
Overall lads, great card. Remember this card is under 1k coins, which is an absolute steal. Get him paired up with Simon Deli and Mignolet. Then you have got an OP and great looking defence for the first few weeks on FIFA 21.
