Destroys Opponents Backline
By FUTProsFC, 06-10-2020

A new year brings in a new Composure. This 87 rated Hugo has a Composure upgrade from last year. From 62 up to an incredible 86. This card is incredible. I applied the Hunter Chem Style to use his Pace and fantastic Shooting to an advantage. His Dribbling stats are already so good in my opinion either a Hunter or Hawk are the only 2 options you can go with. This card terrorizes defenses like crazy. Give and go's with this card feel absolutely incredible. Make the right through ball pass and he'll pretty much meet the opposing GK for a 1 on 1 opportunity. Short passing is phenomenal as well. Really feels complete because of the passing. I did have issues with his finesse shots, I feel like that may be because his shot power isn't in the 90s. He doesn't have a finesse shot trait either so that doesn't help. The power shots are absolutely ridiculous. I played 3 games for him in my review and he scored 8 goals. Should have had more but I'm still getting used to getting back into the Fifa groove so I screwed up a lot of his shots. He biggest problem in my opinion is the Medium/Medium workrates. I had his instruction and Stay Forward but there were still times when he would just stand a little bit ahead of the middle of the pitch and not really make a run forward. A bit annoying but it happened rarely. This man can be your lone ST if you want. Pairing him up with another ST like I did is much better in my opinion. 3 Star Skill moves is a let down for a lot of players but keep in mind that there are so many extremely effective 3 Star Skills that can terrorize your opponent.

-Speed

-Inside the box shooting is fantastic(power shots)

-Dribbling stats all feel complete. Turns quickly and dribbles with ease.

-Very good passing for a ST

-Hawk Chem Style does make him more Physical. Also very good for Corners.

-Medium/Medium workrates can be annoying at times

Hugo Sanchez (87)
By Rxhiem, 08-11-2020

I was really struggling with being clinical in games, and I was in the middle of trying to adapt my gameplay to start trying two striker formation. Fortunately, I had enough coins to purchase this card (my first icon), and the results are ongoing and very good.

In a 4-2-2-2 formation, I needed a clinical striker who also was trust worthy at using short passes to help my other striker (Werner 85 base) get through on goal more often - something that I had lacked. I know what you're thinking... A striker icon and he's talking about his passing. Trust me, the ability to hold up and play short and effective passes especially to play people through on goal is crucial for me. As of right now, out of 20 weekend league games, he has 15 assists. This is a quality I have really liked about him, as it has meant other players in my team have gotten more goals, and I have created many more chances than just the typical low cross spamming I used to use. Not sure if he would be as effective as a loan striker.

His pace feels weird. I use him with a hunter chemistry style, and despite having nearly maxed out pace with it, in terms of raw acceleration, he isn't the best. Even against average pacey centre-backs in weekend league, he doesn't seem to bomb through the spaces in behind like a Werner - even when I have have him on get in behind. However, is quick enough in a long sprint to compete with most defenders, so its a weird balance I still have to find out.

For what you came for, when talking about finishing he is an animal. His 4* weak foot feels like 5*, and his ability to be clinical and accurate is a different level. His main quality is his shot power - I haven't used anyone who strikes the ball so clean and hard, and when I have momentum in games he doesn't stop scoring. His movement in and around the area is pretty solid, always seems to move around and find just enough space to receive the ball or take a shot. Even without a finesse shot trait, from around the edge of the box, his finesses are nasty on either foot. He has scored 25 in 20 weekend league games for me, against some pretty broken defenders (Maldini/VVD/Varane/Gomez/Walker).

He feels competent in terms of normal dribbling. 3* skills doesn't help though, as even though there are effective 3* skills, nothing beats a 4 or a 5. He generally retains the ball well, especially when I use skilled dribbling, so the ball often bobbles back to him which is great. His main quality in his dribbling is agility. On paper mid 80's agility isn't the best, but it isn't a bad stat. His 5'9 height though means that his agility feels perfect, and his ability to use skilled dribbling can create enough space to open up passing spaces and opportunities to shoot. is incredibly useful in sweaty matches.

He does come with weak points, but that you can adapt to. He has very poor stamina, and even with minimum running he tires out 60 minutes into games, losing his physical sharpness which isn't great. However, you can still play around him and at worse, there is a lot of pacey cheap players you can use as super subs if you do go to extra time, or need runners in behind late in games. Not idea for a pricey striker though to not be on point all game.

Overall though, this guy has transferred me from being a Gold 2/3 player, to currently with 10 games to play be chasing Elite in Champs. He is so clutch and so useful as a poacher, and his hold up play and above average in game pace provides many options for you. Worth the buy for sure.

Finishing - Clinical in and out of the area, on both feet despite 4* weak foot. Extremely clutch.

Short Passing - Really useful for simple link up play.

Agility whilst using skilled dribbling - Creates space for others or space for a shot, he feels so smooth and retains the ball well.

Pace - Both good/bad, decent pace but nothing special in behind.

Pace - It can be a con if you want a Mbappe style pace merchant in behind. Can be caught up to even with the hunter.

Stamina - Can tire out fairly quickly in games - check the review for more info.

Trying Baby Hugo Sanchez
By pfrost03, 14-11-2020

I got red Lozano in my weekend league rewards and wanted to play him really badly. With about 600k sitting around in my club, I decided I was going to buy a mexican icon St. as that was the only way I could make the chem work. I looked through MANY reviews oh both him and hernandez, and decided on him, the cheaper option. To start with, over the weekend league I used him in, he played 29 games, scored 39 goals, and had 16 assists (As the right striker in a 4222 next to 86 rashford with neymar and 85 lozano as the CAMs). This card is absolutely insane (I used a Hunter). He volleys the ball unlike any other player in my squad. I scored with him on at least 10 different hard driven crosses where he volleyed with his left foot straight into the box. Along with this, his finishing is definitely above average. While his weak foot doesn't quite get the job done, his left foot does an exceptional job of finishing in front of goal, and he also scored some pretty beast finesse shots.

As a dribbler, this card is exceptional. He only has the 3 star skill moves, but he is able to maneuver extremely well, especially within the box in tight situations. He could be slightly quicker, but he overall did well to beat defenders and get into a scoring position. His agility is decent, and his balance is also decent as well, making him a very well rounded dribbler.

Off the ball, Sanchez does really well to find space. I played him at stay central, and stay forward, and he always seemed to be open in the box for a cross pass to a quick shot. This easily is the best thing about the card, his positioning and his off ball runs, all of which set you up for an amazing counter attack. Bottom line, he is guaranteed to score you goals without having to do much of anything. He will do the work off ball.

BUY THIS CARD. Any price under 550k is completely worth it.

Division 1 & Fut Champs only
By Tacoezax, 19-12-2020

I got this card from the first Base Icon SBC, I was actually quite excited to use him as I could have obviously gotten something worse (Lineker etc), he has without a shadow of a doubt exceeded my expectations.

I have only used the card in Fut Champs & Divison 1 Rivals, he has been really good for me as you can tell by the stats mentioned. He has been used as a Stay up Forward & Get In Behind ST for me in said formation.

As mentioned he has really exceeded my expectations, with a Hunter this card was actually quite something else, he has perfect runs when it comes to counter attacks and his finishing & weakfoot really help in that matter, one ball over the top and no cap Varane can't stop him most of the time, he has really been quite strong for me there.

Now as you can tell he has some weaknesses, he isn't the most "dribbling" kind of player but he actually has some really strong dribbling stats, only a 3* skill move but the ballcontroll, agility, composure & balance are actually really good even though he only has a 3*.

This isn't a card I would go ahead and replace some big boy diamonds coin card but out of all the quote on quote "RTG cards" I have used this one is one of the best, a really good card and easily takes the spot over cards such as Werner or Rashford up there.

He is around team of pacy wingers which also help him a lot, I would recommend having people with good crossing stats as this card has Power Header trait which you can really notice at most crosses. He has actually one quite some headers against the likes of Varane with his quite decent jumping of 84.

Average, only good for links
By leonhili, 18-01-2021

I am a gold 2 player and i packed him in my base icon pack and used him for links. His finishing is crazy good as well as his shot power , also good for penalties. His finesse and passing was really bad however. Although he has a good pace in the stats , in game he feels very slow. Moreover, he has 3 star skill moves and his dribbling is average and is unresponsive.
