In my opinion, nobody comes close to Ederson except possibly the icons who I’ve not yet tried. I had his gold card, and prayed for him in my Gold 1 reds. Parejo and bamba -_-
Regardless, I slapped on 70k to upgrade to this beauty of a sweeper keeper, and it’s definitely worth the extra money.
If you are good at keeper movement, this is the guy for you. His biggest advantage over other keepers is his speed. Loose ball over your backline? Ederson got you covered. He is also decent on the ball if you get in a sticky situation, and he even got a few assists for me! In terms of natural shot stopping ability, he is just like every other GK. Decent, but need to use the right stick to get 100% out of him.
Unfortunately I’ve had to switch to Neuer, as my CBs are now from Bundes, but if I get the opportunity again, Ederson is going straight back between the sticks.
I feel like as an experienced user of IF Ederson, it's my duty to write this review.
Where should I start? If you coins left over.... I cannot stress to you enough DO NOT BUY THIS GUY. Everyshot from outside the box, he stands there like a penguin at the aquarium. 0 Movement! It actually makes my blood boil when he watches the ball go in. It's like he only has one save animation- you know the one where they fall over like they've just been shot (even though the ball is literally next to them).
Don't get me wrong, like every keeper in the game, every so often he turns into Prime Gordan Banks. But 90% he acts like my nan in goal and she has a mobility scooter.
His distbution is amazing for a keeper, scored quite a few goals with him assisting from a RB+X long kick
However this guy couldn't catch covid, every corner. Punch after punch- I could throw him in the ring with Anthony Joshua and he'd give a good scrap.
He also tends to wonder off his line sometimes. It's like you have to put him on a toddler leash to stop in running after the ball. He chases the ball like Harvey Weinstein in a playgroud.
I've used him for 270 games now since I got him in red picks, but enough is enough.
