Ok I’m not one to jump on the overpriced bandwagon, when you get the new fifa you go from expecting 95 rated beasts for 60k to 83 rated 200k players who don’t play to the level you’ve spent probably 5 months or so enjoying. Fati was one I was surprised people gave hate to, it’s a quality card and in my head 170k wasn’t too bad considering how well he plays but with money especially tight for most right now I can see why this year affordability should be a priority for companies just as goodwill cus we all deserve that. The problem I guess is algorithms and card weight but with a new promo that tbh is filled with mostly mediocre cards why couldn’t they just let us have a better chance? The money they make it just seems really sad.
with VVD around 450 and varane around 250k this card is the most expensive non icon cb in game, I don’t look at rating, but with Chem he is 91 rated as a cb, his stats with anchor are class but does he feel like a 91 rated card? That’s the question...
well easy answer is no, he doesn’t as there are meta cards with low ratings that can embarrass every cb on this game due to the system which defending works, having a high rated card boosts performance but without a skilful owner it really doesn’t mean much, if a pro can go 30-0 in weekend league with bronze and silver cards I find it nuts how people still believe the stats matter. The game is not honest with you, from packs to pitch it’s clear there’s fixed parts in every corner making the game something not always if ever fair.
he’s good no doubt but he’s not going to revolutionise your defence so don’t let a cool design make you bin off upamencano or Delaney or varane, if you have klostermann and alaba don’t let card envy make you lose money. Do what makes you happy in this game, if you get gold 2 now getting this card won’t take you to elite.
he feels great, plays well and doesn’t do much wrong but nor did my Delaney cb card I bought for 60k.
stay safe, healthy and above all else happy, don’t let a greedy company take your hard earned money for a card that won’t do much more than any other decent cb as the mechanics are the issue. Cool design or not this simply isn’t worth it.
Bar the obvious links and stats he does have some good strength, movement, passing etc but honestly after testing most top cbs I can honestly say that although maybe a tiny bit better definitely doesn’t justify this level of price or pack weight. It’s been released in a poor pool of players to try and look better, creative marketing done to screw you.

If you watch football alot you would know how left footed CB´s are talked about alot when discussing center backs. I really didn´t think about it like it should be important when playing FIFA. The reason I started looking for one was that I was always seeing good runs from my left sided attackers when the ball was at my LCB feets but 9/10 times the pass was horrible cuz I was using a right footed CB with 2-3* WF so I decided to look for a left footed CB and came across few good ones: Alaba, Lenglet and Ake but Laporte was the one I decided to go with and man.. he changed my team alot more than you think.
Overall
This player is a elite ball playing left footed CB with unique long balls and is so composed under pressure, he really loves being under pressure, thats where he shines, with 87 Composure, 90 Reactions, 80 Ball Contro & fantastic passing stats he is so good when in tied situations.
I play 4231 possesion and 442 long ball and he fits perfectly in those two systems. The Long Passer Trait is a game changer for him, he makes a long ball like he is prime Micheal Carrick passing it to RVP back in 2012
Value For Coins
He is worth it if you already got a great team. I would not reccomend any CB worth that much to anyone if you dont have a good team, but if you have a good team, then he is worth every coin.
Tip
I scored alot goals this WL just cuz of him. You need to take advantage of his build up play skills.
The one tactic I did was this:
Hold L1 and pass to your LB with your LM. Pass to Laporte and make a lobbed through ball (L1 triangle pass) with him to your LM and he is now in a great counter attack.
There are many other ways that I use and you will figure it out.
Passing - His long balls are unique and he is really good at playing the ball from the back, dont forget, the Long Passer trait is real and make sure to take advantage of it.
Defending - He is one of the best defenders in the game, reminds me of CB Capita.
Under Pressure - He is so good under pressure. with 87 Composure, 90 Reactions and 80 Ball Control he is so good when in tied situations
He is Left Footed - Left CB´s are very rare in this game and he is the best one.
Easy to link - He´s french and in the Prem
Heading - He is not going to be scoring alot from corners but I got RB Lukaku and Cantona in my team for that
Pace - Dont take this as a Con, I put it here just to let you know that I think its best to have a faster defender beside him, I use IF Gomez.
There really are not many cons to him, he´s almost perfect.
Ok. First off - I am a Gold 3 Gold 2 player - And I usually count on my defending to elevate me from G3 to G2 and rarely a G1.When I started Fifa 21, I was really struggling with the new style of defending. I had good defenders in Gomez and Diego Carlos but there were too many 50-50s going the opponents way and against top - 88+ attackers, i was conceding way too many shots and chances. Thats when Mr. Laporte came in to save the day.
Some good pack luck finally helped me afford him. (i actually splurged on defence rather than my attack to play to my strengths). Partnered with 83 Gomez. I wont speak much about the obvious positives - Pace, high strength(which means you can apply shadow and max out pace) and relatively high agility.
I want to talk about his secret sauce: What makes someone like Van Dijk soo good. The high reactions and composure stats! This is truly what lifts him above the likes of walker 86 and Gomez 85. (I have used both - like i said i splurge on defence rather than attack). Now i was winning all the 50-50s, more of the rebounds were going in my faovr and this guy reduced my goals conceded easily to half. Got gold 2 two weekends in a row and i can say easily he was the difference.
And honestly - those stats and french links should easily get you till Jan atleast and yet not lose too much card value So i think hes great value for money.
Trust me - You will not go wrong with Laporte

if I had to push his price for a defender but really not much else.
I got laporte couple days ago, i was lucky enough to get him for 422k and he is a beast ! Ive made so many tackles with him and usually wins it every defender makes mistakes. Although one thing that is the issue with laporte is his price. If you have enough for him get him hes done amazing for me. Can catch up to attackers most of the times but if that happens its usually the players fault.
I packed him untradeable during the rulebreaker promo and This guy plays lvery well
He is very quick and has saved me tonnes of times as he is very fast with a shadow and has very good slide tackles ( means he can come from behind and stop goals )
his tackles are pretty much always good with the few times being largely down to ea more than laporte and the rest of his deffending is very solid and his pace can sometimes allow slip ups as he can get back very quickly.
His passes tend to be very good especially his long balls on counter attacks, i have no issues with his and long passes and even his free kicks are decent, If you are passing around the back during the game you can rely on him fairly well not to loose the ball under press.
His shooting his bad but he is a cb
He doesn't feel overly clunky and won't have balance issues and won't be barged of the ball and you are mostly safe to dribble with him as he won't have awful touches putting players through and that sought of thing in genral
Physically he is very large and has good aggression and strength and can bully smaller and or less physical players of the ball however his jumping is low and this makes him awful at scoring headers as he is against other cb's and not forwards and when he does have clean headers they don't tend to be very good. For me his stamina is never and issue
I've packed him untradable in one of my rivals packs during the Promo and after a while i fitted him in my team with Red Gomez, Mendy and Semedo. I don't think he is the rock in my defense I wanted him to be, he does not have the presence of a Ramos, Varane VVD or Gomez. He is nowhere near as good as Gomez although they both similar pace. He feels clumsy on the ball and has some weird mechanics attached to him. I've had several occasions where I've turned away from the attacker and he stops the ball and runs around the ball, not shielding the ball at all, my Gomez can do this without problems.
Another issue is his passing, although he has 84 passing he very often passes it directly to my opponent, again with Gomez no issue.
After all this, I am looking to replace him as I just don't grow fond of him. I would never pay 400k+ for him, I liked gold Bailly and RTTF Kounde way more.
So EA released the Party Bag SBC a while back. I decided to do it because why not, and for my surprise I packed Laporte Rule Breaker card. I was really happy since he would link perfectly with my untradeable Kanté, but when I started using him... oh jesus. His defending is really not that great, he doesn't have that security of getting the ball as I expected and for a 550k card he should do a lot better.

Physical is not that good either (gets bullied agaisnt the better cards... even gold rashford lol)
