Midfield Maestro - Bruno Fernandes
By MN69, 26-11-2020

Its about time that this man (his sif) gets his first review. I play him in a 4-2-2-2 as a cdm alongside a more defensive-minded player like kante/allan. I put get forward instructions on him and he adds sooo much while you are on the attack. He is also quite decent at tracking back with his high/high work rates(+shadow chemstyle). His passing game is top-notch and he feels nice on the ball. His agility got upgraded from his normal card quite a lot and he is a fairly good dribbler especially with his high composure and ball control.

-Pace (he is pretty quick for a midfielder and glides over the pitch with a shadow. Furthermore, he is quick enough to run past a lot of players)

-Passing (it is what you expect from his stats --> superb passing ability and for me one of his strongest aspects. He can switch the play, play balls in behind or whatever pass you want from him)

-Movement/Runs (if you trigger his runs with l1 he will make some awesome runs in behind!!!)

-Shooting (Finishing is consistent with his composure, longshots are great with his high shot power)

-Setpieces (oh boy corners and freekicks lead to goals more often than not)

-Stamina (97 nothing more to say)

-Defending(is decent enough with shadow)

-People barely use him :) but maybe I should be happy about that

-maybe strength and aggression but its fine in my opinion

I'll preface this review by saying that I've used Futbin for 4 years and played FUT for 7 and this is the first time I've been compelled to write a review for a player. This Bruno Fernandes card is unequivocally the best attacking midfielder I have used in at least the last 3 fifas. He has the entire package. I won't drag this on, so let's get into his stats. It's also worth mentioning that his base card stats are simply far below his actual performance in game. I have only used this card for 6 D3 rivals games, but I wanted to get this review out to help players building their squads for the WL. He has recorded 9 goals (not counting 3 pens) and 6 assists in these 6 games, playing as a central CAM in a 4231 (squad linked above).

Pace: I'm using a Hunter on him for the moment (more on that in a bit) and his pace is plenty good enough. Sure, he's not mbappe or ASM, but he can outpace most defenders. 9/10

Shooting: This is an interesting one because it depends on the chem style you apply to him. Since I play a faster, more counter-attacking style, I needed this central CAM to have pace and the ability to shoot if the option was there. This is why I chose a Hunter for Bruno to maximize his pace while giving him a solid boost in shooting. With the Hunter, his finishing is up to 91 and his shot power and long shots are also very good. If you have a lane to the net from within 20 yards on his right foot, the ball flies in. You may run into an issue with his shooting if you apply an engine to him. It'll still be very good, but I think the hunter really takes his stat to the next level. He is also potent on those power shots to the far post if you are 1v1. Not to mention, his penalties are absolutely exquisite. He is by far and away the best penalty taker I've used in any Fifa. He's had 3 so far and all have nestled beautifully into the top right corner, far out of reach of even the keepers that dive the right way. 9.5/10

Passing: Bruno's passing is simply immaculate. I imagine you would want to boost it with an engine if you are playing a slower, possession style game, but as I've said, that didn't quite suit me. Nevertheless, his base passing is quite fine. He is great at dropping those over-the-top through balls to a pacey striker, and he is very rarely intercepted. He's one of those guys who you can hammer it with from your own corner, and he'll pick out a winger or outside CAM through the defensive line. Could be boosted with an engine, but still fine for me. 10/10

Dribbling: His dribbling is perhaps what surprised me the most in game. Again, the Hunter is not boosting this, so I'm going off his base stats. As you can see, these stats are still very, very good for any player. In game, however, he is slightly below Messi in my ranking of best dribblers I've used. He is unbelievably agile and can zip through defenders. He is very good at making those slight adjustments in the box through a maze of players in order to create space for a shot. I'd imagine he'd be next level with an engine, but as I've said, doesn't quite suit me. 10/10

Defending: Look, you're not gonna play this guy at CDM, but he is certainly capable of playing as an attacking CM. He isn't kante or anything, but his defending is still solid and he wins me the ball back a lot in the offensive third after a turnover. He is also pretty strong for a CAM, and can really put in a good standing tackle. 9/10 (for an attacker)

Physical: His strength isn't crazy, but he can muscle smaller players like dembele and even Kante (once) off the ball. His height also helps him here. He wins a good amount of headers and his stamina is absurd. He plays the whole 90 mins and is still only about half drained of energy. 10/10

Thanks for reading! I highly rate this card and would recommend him for anybody with the coins.

PS: I would pay 1 million coins for this card. In terms of value for money, this is the bargain of the year.

Shooting from inside 20 yards, finesse shots, penalties

Pace is quality for a central player

Dribbling is immaculate

Passing: prime pirlo

Defending: very good for attacker

Physical: stamina and strength also very good for an attacker

The only con might be his shooting if you don't boost it. I wouldn't know, but 81 finishing doesn't really cut the mustard in December.

His strength is slightly lacking against VVD and such, but you don't expect any attacker to push those guys off.

Hi this is my second review, sorry for my bad English.

Fernandes is a player who is very underrated, if you want a cdm/cam/cm to link with Ronaldo ore felix potm ore any other prem players.

He is very god as a cdm ore cm with shadow. I packed him in a totw pack from weekend league so i was very lucky. If you need a cdm for prem then i would buy kante becuse he is cheaper and mby more meta. but if you are making a hybrid with ronaldo and prem i would buy him.

Very expensive, you could get kante for a cheaper price

there's a reason he's mad expensive

I would've got this card earlier as I am also a united fan but this card was just so expensive and I didn't know if it would be worth it as I hadn't tried any of his cards yet. I finally tried it and it was amazing.

I USED HIM AT CAM AND NOT CM WITH A SHADOW. WTH IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE WITH ADDING SADOW TO EVERY GODDAMN CARD IN THE GAME. HE HAS THE BODY TYPE AND ABILITY FOR A CAM NOT CM. anyways, I had fernandes summer heat in Fifa 20 and was hoping to get e glimpse of that in Fifa 21 and I did.

PACE. his pace actually is not bad with an engine and he felt decently fast and I didn't have much problems with it.

SHOOTING. his shooting is absolutely solid. he can easily finish inside the box and and his shot power helps so much. for some reason ea always give bruno low finishing but he is has amazing finishing in real life so that always baffles me. his weak foot is really good and if you have a good angle he they will almost always go in

PASSING. probably one of if not the best passing in the game. he makes the strikers job sooooo much easier with his through balls and with that passing alone I would buy this card. passing for me is sooooooo important and bruno just fits that absolutely perfectly.

DRIBBLING.suprisngly his dribbling is really good. with an engine it really helps making his balance really high and he is quite responsive. his ball control in game is amazing the ball sticks to his feet and cos of that I've fluked my way past so many players.

PHYSICAL. bruno is not strong in game. that's why I'm always baffled for why people play him cm. although he obviously has amazing stamina.

DEFENDING. I dont how why people play this card at cm defensively. in my opinion defensive players need to be strong and big to be effective such as viera or Sissoko so why are people putting fernandes up there. although I haven't tried him with shadow he doesn't show the least defending characteristics . he can't really tackle due to his reach and he is weak so he is not made for defence.

overall an amazing card that I really enjoy.

top tier passing, I mean really the best

responsive solid dribbling

good pace

amazing stamina

strength

should not play defensively, he is made to play cam not cm idc what people say\

quite expensive

Don't use at CAM!!!
By Pruegelbuegler, 28-11-2020

It all started, when I packed Renato Sanches from an Inform Upgrade Pack and of course i wanted to play and link him, but i do not have enough coins for someone like Ronaldo and because i had Rashford also untrade, i thought Bruno would be perfect for my team. This review is for CAM position, i can tell you he is decent on CM with 97 Stamina in a narrow 4-1-2-1-2, but i will focus on where I played him. I played him on the central CAM position in the standard 4-2-3-1 formation, where he is absolutely NOT worth above 600k.

At first after a few games in Rivals and Weekend League, Bruno did not disappoint me at all. He has great shooting, his set pieces are magnificent, his passing is very accurate and with his Stamina, Workrates and Def. Stats he also is helpful while defending. He is too slow to run past a Varane or Gomez in WL, but it seemed good enough for his job on CAM, and i had other fast players, so I did not bother me. But my opinion about him changed really fast. I literally played ONE game against a friend, where his De Bruyne Gold Card and my Bruno Fernandes got swapped. Bruno has a BIG Problem to his card and it's the dribbling or maybe like the way he feels ingame. My friend was like "What?!!! This guy is an absolute fraud." Both had a Hunter Chem applied on them and i think De Bruyne and Bruno have a similar role ingame on the CAM position, so you can compare them pretty well. I do not know why, but I thought Bruno would be the far better player, because of his price tag and because I thought De Bruyne feels clunky ingame. But it turns out that De Bruyne is WAAAY more responsive on the ball than Bruno is. For my style of playing FIFA a responsive dribbling is the key and if you are playing at a high skill level, i think you can agree with that. It was way easier to outmove 1 or 2 defenders with De Bruyne and I was shocked, because I payed soo much more for a player that just is not as good. To sum this up: De Bruynes shooting is similar, but 5 star weakfoot is a big plus, so I would say his shooting is better; both are amazing at set pieces and passing, not that much of a difference; like I said De Bruyne feels way more responsive and has, in my opinion, better dribbling, although the stats say something different (that's just something in FIFA i do not understand). The pace is just not a key element if you play someone like Bruno or KDB on CAM, but to be honest Bruno is a bit faster (+3 pace). And another interesting thing that speaks up for KDB is his body. Like I said he does not feel clunky at all, but does not lose the ball that easily like Bruno, because of his strength and height. You might think I am writing a KDB review here, but I just wanted to point out, that you get a more responsive player, from the same league, same position, for almost a quarter of Brunos price. Tbh Bruno has great links and can be a good option on the CM or CDM position, but on CAM you just want something more for 600k and you can easily get something for the coins. And also rethink your decision on CM and CDM, there might be cheaper and better options.

Pace:

-not fast enough to outpace meta defenders, but decent enough for a central CAM

Shootng:

-Good Finishing

-Good Longshots

-4 Star Weakfoot feels good too

-Amazing free kicks, corners and of course penaltys

Passing:

-very accurate

-good long passing and crosses

Dribbling:

-okay, but not just not enough for CAM position

-sometimes clunky and not as responsive as other players

-good composure though

Defending:

-okay nothing too special, good enough for CM, for CDM you should apply a shadow

-good on CAM position, helpinng out in the defense

Physical:

-AMAZING stamina

-you do not care about jumping with a CAM and he is too small to score headers

-strength and aggression combination is okay, and with his def stats he sometimes wins balls up front, for quick counter attacks

-gets pushed of pretty easily though
