I packed Grimaldo during the RTTF promo and decided to give him a go before selling him and never looked towards another LB again.
First off - he feels faster than he is thanks to his small frame and very good dribbling stats (every stat in that department is over 85) which allows him to get back to deal with the most pacey wingers. I cannot remember a situation where he would not run shoulder to shoulder with the Manes, Dembeles and Adama Traores and bailed me out when my other defenders are caught out. Yes, I use an Anchor chem style so that helps for sure but he is no slouch either way. His pace comes in very handy considering that I use him with overlap instructions and he gets forward A LOT.
He is actually a very important part of my attack and often plays a pivotal role in build up. He gets away from the high pressuring wingers with ease thanks to the combo of dribbling and speed. Thanks to 95 stamina, he can go up and down the pitch the whole game and not once do you have to worry about using the sprint button less with him.
Thanks to these attributes he creates a constant overload on one side, which allows the other attacking players to find spaces that they usually would not thanks to the opponents need to deal with Grimaldo as he bombs forward. Often I find him in the opponents half or even near his box putting in an accurate cross (his crossing stat is 86).
The card only has 67 strength but I have to say I never noticed him getting bullied off the ball of outmuscled by an opponent.
Basically you can not go wrong with him, the only downside to this card if you look for one would be shooting but that should never be an issue when choosing your LB.
it is a true - I have not used many left backs in this years edition. But after finding Grimaldo, I will not use one for the rest of the game for sure. And just think of the upgrades...
(I put down 5 assists but that is not 100% correct, I cannot see assists in the web app at the moment of writing this review but it is about 5 probably)
Feels way faster than 87 pace
Passing is very good.
Dribbling gets him away from annoying high pressure opponents. (ofcourse don't go full Mbappe with him but be reasonable and he is epic)
Often is the last man back to save you a goal
Live card with guaranteed 87 (and think of the possiblities)
Shooting? Not really a con, it doesn't matter with your LB
