First of all, sorry for my English. I used to have Seedorf 85 in my team to use him as box to box and to link my Promes live and Depay moments with the rest of the team. This Friday, when a free Gravenberch appears, I decided to sell Seedorf, take the profit and use this future star in Seedorf's position.
I used it in a 442 formation, playin him as a box to box, with De Jong as a defensive midefielder (you have the entire team in the link), well, this boy really surprises me; it's obvious that he is not Seedorf, he doesn't cost more than 800k, but if you know how to play him, he can really do the job.
If you want to play with him in your team, be sure you would need to play very manually, because of his workrates he would be very missing in the field; you should attack the ball and let the other midfielder (in my case De Jong) be controlled by the COM. Obviously this could change depending on the situation.
In terms of passing this guy is an absolute madness, in 27 matches in weekend league I missed maybe 10 passes only, he can pass wherever you want and the 3 weak foot stars wasn't a handicap for me. Shooting is not a hard point of this card, but he can do the job in the box really well, out the box is another story.
To be a 1.90 (6'3") meters guy he feels really smooth, with and without the ball, but I missed a little bit the 4 skills stars, that's a bad point, but well, it's a free card and like we said in Spain "A caballo regalado no le mires el diente" (On a gifted horse, don't look at his tooth).
Summarizing, is a really good card with a loads of pros, but you should know what you have and how to use it.
Thanks for read this review, I hope you like it and found it usefull, see you out there in the weekend league.
When I saw this card in objectives I was excited, I use Gravenberch in career mode and he is a monster. The 15 goals objective is not too crazy so you can get this card fairly easily and I would say it's worth it! I use him as a RCM in a 4-1-2-1-2 (2) and he has been solid so far.
6'3, great strength to shield the ball from opponents. Big body in the midfield with nice passing and the 87 agility makes him feel decently slick on the ball. When he gets the chance he can also put the ball in the net too which is always a plus. Could be tough to get into teams but a perfect link to RTTF Promes allows some options.
This is probably not going to be a game changing midfielder for you, but he is fun to use and SOLID, so for the 15 goal objective I would say it is worth it just as another option!
Strength
Agility
Passing
Very fun to use
Easy objective to get him
Could be tough to link for highly competitive teams
I am from The Netherlands and support Ajax, so I was really excited when I saw this card. I looked at his stats and I became even more excited. I have used this card for 6 matches, and he has been really good so far.
Pace
Passing
Shot power
Dribbling (for his length)
Defence
Physical
May feel a bit clunky because of his length and balance
Finishing (feels worse then 80) but doesn't really matter if you use him on cdm
he is like baby gullit, eXCEPT his boby. He is tall, kinda strong ,good at defending, good passing for a cdm/cm.Shooting is not that bad but id you want him to be a shooting guy dont get him.he is allaround. The stamina is not that good for a cdm so if you go extra time swap him.
So back in November - December when I just got the game I was running these teams with cheap beasts like promes. That meant when Gravenberch, Van Bergen and Baumgartl came out I had to do them. A couple months on and I now have a 3 million coin team and I still use him! As the commentators say he is like a piece of furniture at the club - performs week in week out. He can play as a cdm, a cm or even a cam or cb he is that good. His stats are comparable to the likes of Viera and Gullit and for ) coins he is by far the player with the most worth in my club. Not only that but there are great options like Klaiber, Robben, Van Bergen and Promes to get him into your team. I personally played him as a cdm in a 4231 and an anchor. With the tiny bit of additional pace, the extra physical and defending all the stats at face value on his card are over 80 nad his strength is boosted to 92! He is honestly the perfect cdm because of his physicals, height and agility. If he was tradeable and in the prem he wuld be worth more than kante and pogba!!!
Pace - 83 - Very quick for such a big physical presence and can more often than not track down a man on the ball.
Shooting - 83 - Obviously as a cdm he didn't shoot much from open play, but he scores the chances you expect him to score and can even surprise you if you occasionally let loose from 40 yards.
Passing - 82 - Well rounded passing stats for a central player and his short and long passing were good enough to make him top assister in my club!
Dribbling - 84 - For a 6 foot 3 player to have 87 agility is criminal. If he's playing cm with an engine he can slip in and out of gaps and pair that with his physical ability it's almost impossible to knock him off the ball
Defending - 75 - Obviously as a cdm he might need the help of a shadow, but the main stat here is his 81 heading accuracy. Pair that with his good physicals and his 6 foot 3 frame you've got yourself a corner scoring machine.
Physicals - 78 - Good stamina, strength, jumping and his aggression is passable. Personally I played him with an anchor and that turned him into a brick wall!!!
Obviously for new players that missed Robben and Klaiber he might be a but more difficult to fit in, but there is still Van Bergen, IF koopmeiners and promes!!
Maybe you can't be bothered to complete him but I promise you he is worth every second of your time.
I guess his 3 start 3 star but I never noticed it.
Another FREE!?? card, this one had the benefit of actually playing the final 10 games of the challenge and oh boy that was fun! Unfortunately those stats don't stay on the card, but he was a joy to use and scored a lot of goals.
In Rivals he also struts his stuff, albeit in a solid defensive manner with some assists in their too.
Height, Pace and Dribbling: At 6 foot 3 inches, built like a truck, 87 agility and 83 pace, what a monster of a card. Increase the pace +10 at CM and oh boy is this a great card. All of these things together make him a dominant force. Basically Vierra, I couldn't ask for more.
Shooting: Left and right foot he can score. Is you force him to make a run he will get past and out muscle defenders and its amazing to do. It does leave a big gap though so be careful.
Passing: Not his strongest asset for sure, but an asset none the less. His passing is perfectly passable. Not incredible but he is solid, very rarely loses the ball as long as you aren't over ambitious.
Defending: His defending stats look.. pretty good, slightly above average. Adding on the +10 from shadow and he becomes a different beast. Amazing and with his other stats really completes him.
Physical: Again, not his strongest asset but still a damn good one. His low aggression does frustrate me, but his strength and jumping are more than fine. Stamina is.. a different beast, so lets get onto it.
Stamina: His stamina is a little bit of a problem. He can generally do a full 90, but if you need to press at all he wants subbing at 70 mins. But general use he is fine... but partly because of his next con.
Work rates: His m/m Work rate makes him last a full game under standard circumstances, but it does mean he doesn't always sit where you want him to. Fortunately I am playing him along side Sissoko who is my main defensive CM, but he has his own issues as a CDM with a h/h so sometimes it leaves me exposed. Still good fun though!
Gravenberch is great. He is hard to link. I used him to link robben and i really like him. He is a pacy great overall cm/cdm. His 96 shotpower is insane and his pasing also. He turns really quick and feels super strong because of his hight and strenght. His defending is also great for a box-to-box midfielder. aply anchor to boost defending and strenght
So recently I decided to use gravenberch in my squad to link with van bergen and klaiber. At first I did not like him as he was not very good at making tackles and would not make the best runs.
Then I changed his role to make him an attacking cm and he totally shined, scoring almost a hatrick every game. He also was very proactive and made crucial tackles in the box to regain possession and with that shot power would send it home.
if this guy was playing in PL he would cost 150-200k .
After Klaiber, Robben and Van Bergen links hes more usable , not best box to box player but CDM with other strong CDM (Essien sissoko) is the best option.
i used him more than 100 games and he has only two problem, Weak foot and stamina ( replaced him after 65-70 minutes)
