Ok, we all know this card is top 3 CB in the game. We are all annoyed when we face someone using Mendy, Varane, Gomez...
Now if you are coming to this page and read this review... it clearly means you know about who is the best CB in this game.
I am not spending 5 pages explaining the stats of this card as everyone knows about the gold version of Varane. I will tell you here why this guy it the best CB and if he is worth the 1.3M (at the time of the review).
Why he is the best:
*Because of the 3P... Pace Pace Pace. This guy is so fast that he can recover against the Mbappe Neymar and other fast players. You feel so safe when using him that you don't mind if your opponents are spamming speed button. We all know this ridiculous "pace hype" created by EA making Puyol and other legend CB unusable. this card is ready to run against Usain Bolt.
*Also because his tackling is absolutely amazing. He is always doing the right thing in the right moment. Never going to make a bad tackle like Campbell for example.
*Because of his positioning. Always in the right place and his aggression is amazing. Never felt so good in my back line.
Worth the extra 1.1M ?
Well, it really depends about your team. Like I said, you not gonna look at this card if your team is not already insane. But of course if you already playing with great icons and insane team, you want to go for a solid CB that you can trust during WL.
If this is the case ... then here is your man. This card is disgustingly good. He is so good that you can see your opponent trying to tackle after you get the ball from him. Absolute monster. Now if you want your opponent to be so stressed... play him next to Gomez IF... and 50% of the time you get rage quit.
At the beginning I was little bit not so hot to pay 1.2M for a CB... but now I can tell you I will keep this card as long as possible.
The real answer is: Yes he is worth it.
Reasons are simple:
* he is the best CB in the game
* the only card with same stats is Prime Maldini (4M) not the same price...
* almost 90 rated guarantee
* at this price you don't have better CB with good links like Varane
* I don't like to say this... but of course because he is a Meta player
* because of TOTY Ramos green link
* his price will stay high till TOTS
* Pace
* Positioning
* Agression
* Strength
* Links
* Nothing. Except I would like to express my disappointment about Meta players and Pace abuse in this game which gives this card some hate from many FIFA players.
Maybe this is the best defender in the game. Even his normals card causes WL problems when you play against him. And especially the basic back line with Mandy-Varane-Gomez-Walker.
When this card came out I was lucky enough to buy it just under 1 million coins, and it hasn't been a bad buy to this day. Let us go through his statistics before we make a clear judgment.
Pace:
I myself play Varane with a shadow which makes him even faster than his original card. This makes you really feel that you are playing with one of the best defenders of the game at the moment.
Shooting:
Personally, he never comes to me in positions where he will have to shoot.
Passing:
For me, the most important statistics in passing are the short and long ones. I usually immediately hand in the ball with my central defenders to my central midfielders where I look for the attack.
Defending:
We all know how good Varane's normals card is, so it's no surprise that it's overpowered again.
Physically:
I don't (yet) have the idea that it is a major upgrade of his normals card.
Conclusion:
Raphaël Varane is in my opinion the best central defender in the game at the moment, maybe prime Maldini can change my mind but I haven't tried that yet.
At the time of writing his market is worth 1.27 million, which I do not think is crazy for such a good card that will be upgraded as the CL matches are played.
What strikes me when I play with this card are the automatic blocks it puts in my own 16 metres. Because of its long legs it makes sure that it is back in position in no time.
I won't sell it myself for the time being, especially with the chance that Ramos will get a TOTY year this card will only increase in value.
I have tried plenty of CB but Varane is by far the best. He is absolute insane. Best CB in the game right now. So, if you have money for him, buy him at any cost.
