If you're like me, you're looking for small ways to make the managerial masterpieces objective even easier. This is maybe my favorrite game mode this year, and probably the most creative mode for us squad builders too. The common strategy is to load up teams with 75 rated players and shoehorn in some elite talent to dominate your opponents scrubs. However, there's a big flaw - most 75 rated players are simply crap, and if you rely on your CR7s/Mbappes/Neymars too much, you become predictable and just like your opponent.
I'm here to tell you there's another, better way. Players like Ivan Toney are perfect for this game mode and represent deep f--ing value with incredible stats, not needing to be subbed out at all. I've used Toney as the RS in my 442, hunter chemistry applied, for 10+ games. If I need a special objective card (like Reiner), I simply slot that player as the left striker. Chemming in Toney is easy if you have cards like Dack, Sinclair, or any other English Championship-level players.
So how does he play in game? He simply bangs them in. 98 jumping at 6'2 means he wins headers. 96 agility means he'll be able to glide through defenders and pivot on them easily. With hunter chem applied, you're talking 95 pace with 96 finishing and 89 positioning. The man makes runs. The lack of skill moves and weak foot certainly hurt, and his passing is definitely low. You're not going to be creating goals with the lad. You'll be smashing them past the keeper, heading in deep crosses, and getting rage quits from confused opponents who have no idea who Ivan Toney is.
Since he's 77 rated, you can save your silver player slots for low rated 65s or other great cards (Che Adams, Adeyemi) to tear up your opponents meager defense. With hunter applied, he's an 85 rated striker, so you're getting incredible value out of this card. I can't give such a low rated card a 5* rating, as that's for the Mbappes, Neymars, and Dybalas of the world. but 4* is certainly appropriate, and in MM friendlies, he's definitely a 5* striker.
