Let me preface this by saying I have no life. I don't need to be railed with insults saying I have no life now. I acknowledged it, alright?
The objective was super easy; squad battles is super easy. I just put the footy on while it was happening, and when it wasn't I watched some basketball and Paul Hollywood's City Bakes (cracking show that). It was rather a boring experience, but anyone that has ever done an objective in squad battles knows the tedium. I really liked playing with the 84 cm Cucurella that I played as a cam, so in game I played this guy as a cam with instructions to come back on defense in a 4-1-2-1-2 that I threw together. His stamina allowed this to function brilliantly, and he was able to get forward and come back with no problems. His passing is exquisite, and for the couple of games I played with him as an outside mid because I didn't do custom tactics and I didn't change positions in game, his power crosses were beautiful. Power crossing is quickly becoming my favourite way to play; it's super satisfying when you get it right. His pace as a cam is great, but as an outside mid I would probably boost that pace with an engine (I used a basic). His finishing is decent: about what I expected, and since he's left footed it's easier to beat your opponent because everyone tries to block the right foot (I expect this isn't the case in higher divisions and against better players, but for my div 4 experience it was a welcome benefit having the left foot). I don't do skills, but I'm sure people that love the two skills that they know appreciate the 4*. His 4* wf felt like a 4* wf, but I never bothered to use his right since I could use his left. He feels pretty good on the ball, and his body type and height are perfect for the meta of this game (this doesn't stop him from feeling like a truck during bad gameplay. I mean, seriously, I feel like players are moving at the speed I move in my nightmares). Defending wise, he's average, but his almost Gullit Gang status was too tempting to not try him with come back on defense. Physicality is meh, but he has great stamina. In conclusion, if he is a player that is going be slotting into your starting xi, you must either like Getafe or Cucurella, be new to the game, or you must have a life and you haven't been playing this unrewarding game to the extent of not needing a card like this. If you are going to play FIFA, you might as well do this card for a free 82, 84, 86, and 87 that you can chuck into an SBC later, but I recommend you avoid loading up FIFA at all and go enjoy the life that you have. We have a finite time on this earth, and there are better ways of spending your time than grinding 6 or more hours to get this card (like playing FUT Champs ;) ). I appreciate you reading through all this nonsense.

For some reason beginner level CPU on squad battles can actually pressure you and steal the ball now, so you have to do the fake shot thing which still works for whatever reason

The big question, is he worth the grind? Tbh i gotta say yes. The card took me about 2 hours with a break in squad battles and he wasnt hard to get it just took a while. I like the card alot he is really nimble and agile and has great shooting. in game i play him cm and hes brilliant. creates chances, makes plays. He also has great attacking ai, he knows where to go and when.

When I first saw his card, I trouve I don't need this card until I saw the defensive and physis stats. He's perfect to swap a winger to a midfielder. But I can say the perfect positions are CAM or CM I tryed him as an CDM and he's perfect for my team because I play a double CDM with a Strong and agressiv CDM in Herrera and now a technical CDM in Cucurella he is also good in the defense but the strenghtes are for sure in the offensive. Another thing I realized were the longshots he made but you shouldn't make a finesse shots you can really make a very strong shot and he made many of those in the right top corner.
-If you want a winger he's not that good I think but you should try him out first.
-Maby you can also play him as a left wing back in a 5/3/2 Formation
Before I played him I played LLorente and I must say hes better because of his dribbling. Llorente was better in the defense but today I can say I like it really that he makes the runs to the
penalty area. Another thing I noticed were for sure the key passes before a other player of my team make a assist.
After all I can say try him out before you have an opinion.

As soon as i saw this card i knew he would be great in midfield so i had to get him.
I must say, he was definitely worth the grind!
I tried him out in WL (gold 2) and I played him as a lcm in the 41212(2). His passing is amazing, very rarely misplaced a pass and was confident in playing risky through balls with him. His shooting is also very good- scored 5 goals and 13 assists in the 30 games. His long shots are very good and i scored a couple worldies with him. He feels pretty fast and was good on the ball and dribbled past players quite easily. He made a lot of interceptions and was in a lot of good positions defensively, and was quite strong.

welcome to my cucurella review. So first when I saw him I thought its nothing too special for the grind but while I was on futbin I put hunter on him and he looked like cracked striker and thats just what I needed so I decided to complete him. The grind was exhausting but I cant tell you its 100% worth it I play him st in 4-1-2-1-2 narrow and he is sooooooooo goooooooooood. Put hunter on him so you can max out his pace and really boost that shooting and when you apply to hunter to him he will have insane positioning, finishing, shot power and volleys he really reminds me of Daniel James. He also has really good agility and insane balance overall dribbling is amazing for st as well passing and physicality is really good as well especially 97 stamina so you dont have to sub him off in any point of the game. But the best thing about his card is amazing defending for striker, baisicly if someone loses the ball he can take the ball back ihn the danger area and score the goal thats how I usually scored goals with him

I did this card just because I like the grind. Didn't expect to use him outside of Laliga objectives tbh.
Then I packed WIF Berchiche from the What If? Pack and needed a strong link. Having already used his 84 in an SBC, I looked at the stats of the 87, and my god what a box2box this guy is. On a powerhouse this dude is better than any other CM I've tried.
Since I play 4-3-3(2) and 3-5-2, he often joins attacks, and bangs in top corner on the regular. MotM in 5/7 games I played. He is fast, jumps high to reach headers, winning 50/50's against Varane is kinda stupid for his height xD. 1 failed pass in the games I have used him, even his long through balls to LM/LW always sticks.
So thanks EA for giving me the Yuri so that I had to get creative xD.
Just give him a go even from the bench, don't think about the chem:P.

Strength. I tried some other chem styles, but Powerhouse boosts him the best way, sadly not increasing strength. Can be bossed off the ball.
I really hate this game but i really love Cucupinga.
He is the best free player i have used this year and i think the free player that i've ever enjoyed the most.
If you are looking for a box to box for a cheap price he your guy; his body type makes him a really good dribbler, fast as Speedy Gonzales and surprisingly agile for a cm, which is the position where i use him.
If you think that he is not good for your 10kk coins team because he is free, you are completely wrong or at least that's what i feel on my 12 million coins squad.
I've used Bruno toty, Renato Sanches rttf and a few more of the top non-icon box-to-box type players and he has the right to be called one of this group. I mean of course he is not as good as bruno toty but he is still superb; Bruno toty does more than you need, Cucurella does what you need.
The only thing i would advice is to avoid taking longshots with him bc i think its one of the few weaknesses that he has.
If you are still thinking about doing him, do it and use the coins of your box-to-box for something fun like the icon player pick sbc.

Hi everyone, im new to writing comments and reviews so idk what im doing. I have played 24 games with his 86 now, and felt the need to write a review in anticipation of his 87. This is a review for his 86, but it will most likely apply to his upgraded version, so im writing it now to get out to people so they have time if they are contemplating it.
First of all, i have a mixed laliga - Bundes team with Robben and Klaiber chucked in, and i play him 8 chem CDM with Makelele, mainly to try out both Reinier and mystery sbc TOTGS Haaland. cucu on the ball feels very solid, his passing is great and i like the size of him combined with amazing balance, reaction and ball control. He's got a shadow so the pace is nice, and the defense is ok. I use him to manually intercept passes because of his great reactions and speed. Now, is he better than my Kessie, or my mid makelele ? No. But what i like about this card is that i now have the opportunity to play the rest of the field offensive. For example for this team, i have Reinier, Bebou, Haaland and Robben with Mid makelele as the only defensive midfielder. This wouldnt have been possible for my playstyle if i Cucurella wasnt around to play CDM from a LM starting position.
His ball retention is good, and his size and balance make it so that even if you lose the ball - he's not going to be knocked away and if the oppostion isnt controlling the ball he just took he takes it right back.
You also get some SBC fodder along the way. If you have the time, or the will to play his 86 in rivals, this may well go smoothly for you if you hate Squad battles like me. I've so far got 24 games, and 13 assists. 21 games and 10 assists are from Rivals, div 3, from a cdm position in 4-2-3-1. I have played 3 SBC to do the crossed assist challenge + goal. Mind you, again, this was the 86 version - so im expecting more of the good stuff with an upgraded weak foot and all around better stats.

- Because of his work rates you need to be careful how youve instructed him to move in attack but this depends on positioning, as if he's left on balance the high work rate will drag him out of the cdm position at times.
The pain i went through getting this card was horrible, so bad im not going to make a review on my yt even if it took 2 hours, im so mentally drained from this stupid little guy. Anyways, hes fast, alright at shooting, can kinda dribble and can pass decently, defending is alright and physically hes a bit weak. dont bother doing him if he doesn't go in your team. i went through pain for him, painnnn. For value for money im going to say thats value for time in this review.
Good pace, dribbling and passing in general, 4* 4* upgrade is always nice.
Weak and can sometimes miss a few shots.
I love playing squad battles and doing cucurella was worth it. If you have the time and he fits into your squad do it. I've tried some other lm like rashford and son and neymar. Cucerella feels much faster, with a hunter. He rarely misses a shot and his passes are perfect. His defending is meh but I use him as attacking but he does track bck since I play a 4-5-1
