As soon as I saw this mate hitting the SBC's I realized this could be the CDM i was always looking for. Due to many untrades in my club I got him for 100k and didn't hesitate any second to complete his SBC. By looking at his stats I surely had some big expactations regarding his gameplay. Would he be worth the 500k he would cost someone, who has nothing left in his club ?
Afer trying him out for a few matches in DIV 1, i finally can give answers. But first of all, let's have a look on his stats before the final conclusion:
I played him as CDM in a 4-1-2-1-2 with stay back while attacking as his main instruction with a shadow chemistry style.
Pace 9/10
For a CDM/CM his pace is absolutely enough. He is not as quick as e.g. Kimmich TOTY but his pace is very balanced and very good. With the shadow chemistry style you can feel a positive difference for sure!
Shooting 9.5/10
To be honest. With playing him as my only CDM with stay back while attacking as instruction he surely doesn't get many chances to get a ball onto the goal. Therefore I played him 2 games in the CAM spot and yes, he can shoot. His shotpower is awesome and his shots are very accurate. Surprisingly his finesse shots are very OP. Scored me two goals from outside the box with the finesse of dreams.
Passing 10/10
I thought I do have a very good defensive player. But holy shit, his passing is on another level. His long passes are gorgeous and can't remind any bad pass from him which resulted in a goal for my opponent. He played like a playmaker from the cdm spot. He clearly was THE MAN when it comes to create an attack.
Dribbling: 9/10
Of course you don't get a dribbling like Messi or Neymar with this card. But his dribbling is very smooth, agile and quick. Perfect for the CDM spot when he is coming up against very agile players.
When Vidal is having the ball it was very hard for my opponents to get him off the ball due to his very close ballcontrol and physicality. Did I mention he has 5 star skills? :)
Defending 10/10
Guys, let me introduce to you the best defensive midfielder in the whole game. And yes I played with Firmino Freeze, Kimmich TOTY and Kante. But this card is on another level. His interceptions are out ouf this world and his tackling is so good. He doesn't foul the opponents player unless it's your fault due to bad timing. Best player I have used this year in this category.
Physical 10/10
It's the same as with the defending stat. An absolute monster when it comes to pushing other players off the ball. It doesn't matter wheter its CR7, Drogba or Neymar. Vidal will bury them down.
Value for coins:
As I said I did the SBC for 100k and therefore he is a 10/10 for me in this category. But even if you get him for the maximum of 550k he still is a 10/10. I compare him to the price of Firmino freeze back in the day for nearly double the price. Therefore Vidal is worth every coin you spend on him.

The perfect allrounder, made for everyone who wants to increase his team in the CAM, CM or CDM spot. If you can make him fit into your team, don't think twice!

when I seen this card I immediately grinded the player picks and it was so worth it his attacking and defensive presence is insane even is insane paired up with 91 Matthaus and 91 Zidane best valued cm and cdm in the game

I mean hes MENTAL. Insanely good at everything except links. Near perfect at defending and physical stats. 5* sm and 4* wf is just insanely good at cdm. Matched with firmino you have yourself a nice little 5* sm defensive midfield. Both practically the same cards except 1 is better with stats and the other with links.

So I saw the leak for this card and when the card got a released I was very excited to use him I crafted him for free using player picks and packs form swaps. Now let’s get into the review.
His pace his great for getting onto loose balls, interceptions and catching up with the opponent. He outmuscled everyone in the midfield thanks to the 87 strength and 97 aggression. He won all his tackles and intercepted everything.
His passing was great both short and long. Now my only concern is how he feels on the ball I had Thiago fb beside so he had big expectations but due to the 85 dribbling stat he didn’t feel great on the ball so I would recommend having someone like Thiago next to him.
If you play him at cdm use a shadow but for a box to box I would recommend engine because he doesn’t feel great on the ball.
- Pace 8.7/10 he was quick but due to his agility being in the low 80s he didn’t feel insanely fast.
- Shot 8.5/10 can shoot very well and has all a cdm/cm needs.
- Pass 9/10 brilliant passing short or long. Feels like his pass feels is about 90.
- dribbling 8/10 not great on the ball but it works. Just don’t try and elastico the whole team.
- defending 10/10 wins all his tackles intercepts everything.
- Physical 10/10 aggression, strength and stamina what more do you need.
- As I said before his dribbling wasn’t great he didn’t feel amazing on the ball so don’t go over the top with him and partner him with someone who feels good on the ball
- none apart form dribbling he was crazy good
I am a Div 1 player, who regularly gets to G1 on WL. I am rocking a serie a/la liga hybrid and when I saw Vidal, I thought he was a must buy (especially as all the reviewers were raving about him)! On paper, Vidal is one of the best b2b midfielders in the game but for whatever reason I could not get him to work!
Defending (5/10)
I started off playing him as the sole holding midfielder in a 41212 narrow but found that he wasn't good enough defensively - for whatever reason he seemed to bounce off other players like mbappe and even weaker players like Neymar. As far as positioning, he didn't do a bad job but there are definitely better defensive CDMs out there.
Passing (9/10)
I could not fault vidal's passing this weekend league - he very rarely put a foot wrong and could thread both long and short passes
Pace/agility/dribbling (5/10)
Lumpy lumpy lumpy. Slow and lumpy (I had a shadow on him, maybe it should have been an engine?)
Shooting (6/10)
Vidal's shooting was good, but nothing special. He does make good attacking runs but hasn't got the pace to make them count
Strength (6/10)
Regularly got shrugged off the ball by the likes of Kante.
I started off this weekend League with with vidal at RCM and had the worst start to WL I have ever had. As soon as I dropped Vidal, my weekend league picked up significantly and I clutched G1 by winning 9 (yes nine) games in a row! Vidal had a goal/assist contribution of 0.2 per game. If I compare that to Cucurella, who played LCM, he had a G/A of 0.8 per game (from basically the same position)
From my experience, I would highly recommend not getting Vidal.
Welcome to the review. I always look at reviews of 'expensive' SBC players so I'd thought I'd write one.
I've played around 10 games so far with him in Rivals, and did the Serie A Icon Swaps with him as my star player. Now firstly, this SBC is not overpriced, it's just expensive. Thankfully, I got messi in my player picks along with some others that made this very cheap for me.
I play Vidal in a 41212(2) at CM, balanced custom tactics. Neymar and Eusebio up top, Maradona at CAM, Bruno Gumaires at CDM and Kaka at the other CM. Safe to say he was in good company.
I must say, I'm a little disappointed in some areas, but more than happy with others, so lets get into it.
Pace 7/10
Initially I used an Engine chemistry style, which made the dribbling more responsive, but I definitely didn't feel the pace upgrade. Shadow for me gave him a much better presence in defence with his defending, and made him more dangerous on breakaways as his runs are great, but he didn't have the pace to push through the defence.
Shooting 7/10
Vidal has an absolute rocket in his boot. My first 5 shots with him all went over the bar, or straight at the keeper, the power you have to use with him is so much less than Maradona and Ney that I was overpowering all my shots with him. Took a while to fix, but I can see the high finishing in fruition, as he definitely can shoot the ball with insane power.
His long shots just get auto blocked as all of them do so hard to say how good those were.
His volleys feel insane, so so much power but alot right at the keeper.
Overall his shooting seems average, Kaka with way less finishing would score way more of the chances I have given Vidal.
Passing 10/10
I was very impressed with his passing, from long balls to short, lofted passes he really impressed me. His passing was far better than the stats suggested, really enjoyed him for his passing
Dribbling 8/10
What can I say, 5* skills with his strength and surprisingly good stats did show itself in his game. With an engine he can left-stick well, and moves very fast. Though his skills preform quite slow, his strength lets him keep possession. I am a skill based player, I love my skillers and use them as much as I can, hence why I was so excited for this card. Wouldn't say his dribbling is incredible, but definitely gets the job done at CM and can turn his players inside out and body them off the ball, only a little bit clunky.
Defending and Physical 10/10
If i was playing him at CDM i wouldn't have been as happy with his defensive and physical stats, but at CDM they are great. He bodies off players, and his dives into tackles makes sure he wins the ball when he puts his foot in, which I loved. The shadow was very good on him, defensively he was great, his interceptions were great also.
Information and Gameplay
With 5* 4* he was fantastic in the midfield. Honestly his WF feels like 4.5*. and half the goals I have scored have been on his left.
His H/H workrates are great for a Box to Box midfielder. He tracked back well after possession was lost, and going forward he made brilliant runs drawing defenders or getting the ball himself. I was forcing him the ball a-lot, but his Stam did slightly disappoint me.
Worth it?
Up to you of course. Just wanted to share my thoughts. At 500k, potentially less with untradables, if he fits ur team and you need a midfielder, I'd say he was worth it. I wouldn't spend 500k on his SBC incase you don't like him, or have to re-arange your team to fit him in though. Thumbs up from me, but not by alot.

Interceptions and tackles - He was a rock even at CM
Shooting - Missed the target in some very suss moments
Speed - Depends how you use him, for me he needed a SHadow, and still didn't feel as quick as the stats suggested
