https://www.futbin.com//21/squad/8952329 - that's the squad I use Gosens in and this is how it looks in-game - https://www.futbin.com//21/squad/9038143. As you can see I used him as a box-to-box style CDM with a shadow chem style. I played 10 games with him in woeful Div 3 rival gameplay, and he still played well. This Gosens, just like real life Gosens, is the perfect balance of physique and technicality. His pace with a shadow is 99 and it feels like it, the agility does not mess with the pace on this card, which is a huge plus. I wasn't sure how the dribbling would be with this card, and I was pleasantly suprised, it's not good enough to play as a true winger, but as a LM in the 3-5-2 he does very well. His mcgeady spins are fabulus, and he can do them thanks to the skill move upgrade. Passing on this card is good, the only con to his passing is his lack of curve. Gosens physicality is insane, 6'0, average body type and 99 jumping 99 stamina 90 strength and 95 aggression, wow.. I wondered if it would make him clunky and it doesn't, he can dribble a few players in the middle when you need him to. I didn't get to shoot that much with him, and he only scored 1 goal, but that was a nice hit from 20 yards out.. his long shots aren't like James, Okocha, or Del P, but they are still good. The aggression and strength this card possess were very prevelant in his tackles. He made a lot of Kante-like interceptions where I wasn't even controlling him, and when I was controlling him his tackles were top class. You for sure could play him as a CB if need be, but TBH, that's a waste of this card. the High/High work rates and 99 stamina were great, he is all over the place. Overall this card is worth it to do, and if you don't like him he's 93 rated fodder for 10 easy games.
Pace, (9.6/10)
Long Passing, (9.2/10)
Short Passing, (10/10)
Interceptions, (10/10)
Tackling, (9.4/10)
Long Shots, (8.4/10)
Crossing, (10/10)
Aggression, (10/10)
Strength/Balance, (9.6/10)
Ball Control/Composure, (9.6/10)
High/High + Stamina, (10/10)
Jumping/Headers, (10/10)
If you don't like him it's linkable 93 rated fodder.
Easy to complete, and the longest one is score with serie a players in 10 separate matches, and that can be done in rivals if you have like Belotti or Zapata.
boring to do
Curve, (6.8/10)
Agility, (8.2/10) not really a con but it would be nice if he had a bit more agility
I did his objective to use him in an SBC to get an icon but decided to keep him for a bit because I completely drained my entire club and had no options but him, I'm using him as a wide LAM in this squad (https://www.futbin.com/21/squad/9069926).
Glad that I didn't trade him in because as a LAM he is insane, he just has every stat you would need and he fits my style of play perfectly. Engine on him to max out his creative stats and his shooting is bang on anyway, the fact that he is such a well rounded card also makes him versatile as I will switch from a LAM in 4-2-2-2 to a CM in 4-3-1-2. He doesn't stand out in any one regard, his passing and crossing is pin point and physically and defensively he does an amazing job up the pitch and also dropping back, the 99 stamina and H/H work rates show through.
He always seems to be in the right position both offensively and defensively, I find him on the wing making the right runs that my ST's can feed him through or do one-two's with, he is actually so good that I always go down his side as he beats out Joao Felix in every way possible - and I have really enjoyed using Felix's card.
I don't use skills too much, for me 4* is plenty so I'm good with that. His 4* weak foot feels bang on, I haven't done too much on his right foot in terms of shooting but things like passing and crossing seem really good. One notable thing is his height, which I was a bit iffy on at the start but I began to realise it just adds to his card in another way which is heading and the 99 jumping, for some reason most my crosses from the right end up going to him and in a him vs. full back battle he dominates the air most of the time.
Overall he is a solid card anywhere on the pitch, he really suits my game style so I guess you will need to try him out to see for yourself.
For context I use Gosens like this, in game as a CDM, allowing Kimmich and De Jong to act as B2B midfielders. https://www.futbin.com/21/squad-builder/view/9084854
He starts on 10 chem, and has been superb across 15 Division rivals games (Div 4 and Div 3) and friendlies. Previously I had been playing De Jong as CDM, but by bringing Gosens in for Kostic I've managed 12 wins on the bounce and I'm now comfortably in Division 3.
As a CDM he has been brilliant in front of the back four with a shadow chem style. The chem style brings his pace and acceleration to 99, and he certainly feels quick, mixed with his 4* skills and 4* weak foot, he is brilliant for playing "out of trouble" and setting up vicious counter attacks.
He is a solid passer, usually a CDM will only play the safe short ball, but with Gosens having good long passing he will often find Lewa.
In terms of shooting, I haven't had much chance to test this out due to the midfield in front of him often being in a better position and him playing as the CDM. However he has scored twice both beautiful goals from distance. In terms of assists he has provided a few.
An excellent well rounded card, who excels as the CDM in my team. He is very versatile and I have given him the occasional run out at LB where he looks solid as well.
