I tried this Mendy card in Rivals Co-op with a friend's squad. I originally thought he was way overpriced, but actually using him made me realize the big difference there is between him and other fullbacks. The Telles in my personal squad is much less dominant than this Mendy. He almost feels like the Summer Heat from last year, except a gold card. Maybe the 100k he costs (at release) can be used to upgrade other spots in your squad, but he is bar none the best in the game.

Maybe the cost. You can get Jordi Alba for about half the price and he does a solid job. I don't really recommend spending too much on fullbacks unless you can't upgrade anything else or you are constantly beaten on the wing.
I pulled Mendy from a random SBC pack, and i was happy because I knew this was the only way he could have got in my team. So, I have used a ton of LB this year, and he is WAY BETTER than any other left back in the game, even Davies. The 5* weak foot is incredible, he never misses passes. He is fast, can easily catch up with Adama, Lucas, Saint-Maximin and all the fast meta players. The question is: is there a point in spending over 100k for a left back? Well, if you have some spare money and you already have a good team, go for it, 100%, it's absolutely worth it. But if you have a 200-300k team, spend your money on a better team.
I thought my pack luck won't get any better after packing for Silver 3 IF Watkins, I also packed Joe Gomez, Semedo and lucas {untradeable} and decided to put them in a team. In game I play a 44-2 formation as the players are nicely spread out around the field.
