Now I decided to write a review about my love story with my 8 tokens swaps pick Baby / Base Shevchenko in the middle of December.

At first my instructions:

• 41212 (narrow) as RS with get in behind, move outside and balanced defending cause of High/High.
• 4231 or 442 as striker or RS with get in behind and balanced defending

Chem style: Engine

Division: 1

WL: Elite 3 / Gold 1

Squad value around 4 to 5 mil.

Before getting to details I need to say that I was disappointed after I packed him. Seeing his mediocre stats expect shooting, I thought he won't be meta and unusable but I decided to give him a try and I benched Gold Aubameyang for him who replaced Gold Werner.

Engine looked the most effective to me cause I knew that his shooting would be OP as I knew that all Icons have something special about their shooting ability.

Turning and dribbling:

So the main fear I had was the question of IS HE CLUNKY? - No ! He isn't. He turns not fast as a Ben Yedder but faster as the likes of Aubameyang, so it was fine for me.

His dribbling is quite decent. Compare it to Werner, its pretty similar. He is able to outrun a defender but not 2 or more, so make sure you have dribblers around him.

Pace:

Surprisingly good! If he is trough on goal I never get caught by anybody and that's the most important if you need an easy goal but don't expect him to be a pace whore like Werner etc...

Passing:

Mediocre with engine. His short passing is good enough with both feet. Even double tap X will deliver with him. His long passes are hard to handle but with time you'll understand how to do this. I wouldn't do high long balls with him. Just make it simple.

Shooting:

Absolutely outstanding! Ice cold!

This my guys is phenomenal!

I'm a really experienced FIFA player and I can't remember many players shooting like this Shevchenko. Just look at his traits. His normal circle finishes are rockets. His finesses are thx to engine OP as well and his weak foot feels like 5 stars if you are in the box.

Physicality and Defending:

Great! I think his body type is meta this FIFA, he is rarely getting bodied from the ball and not to tall to feel clunky or hard to handle. Due to his High/High his defending helps if you need it, so it's nice as well. His low stamina stat is fake. I never had to sub him off because of him being tired. It feels solid.

Positioning / AI / CPU effect:

Thats the main reason I (still) love to use him and why he is so important for my squad!!! I could tell the same as I told about his shooting here. I rarely played with somebody making such perfect runs bringing him to goal scoring positions. You can feel that he want's to score Hattricks every game like he did in real life. If he once makes a run where you can't pass the ball to, he'll immediately turn backwards and he'll run to the next gap. It may sound weird but it makes such a difference using a striker like him with such a commitment to score.

Summit:

Imagine a third inform Timo Werner with intelligent movements and Icon shooting - you'll have this Shevchenko.

Some advices - don't dribble too much with him. Make it simple, pass the ball and let the CPU bring him to goal scoring positions (maybe help with L1 or R1). As mentioned make sure you have the dribblers and CAM's behind him to assist him.
