Player Review
90 - Icon
Ireland never get enough credit on FIFA. Yes, they're not Brazil or France in terms of Icons, but I'm a massive Premier League fan and the imbalance of Icons on FIFA is fairly biased towards England. Yes, there are deserved Icons such as Gerrard, Shearer and so on, but some are a joke. Sol Campbell, a bit above average defender, would be around the standard of Alederweireld today. Compare that to Ireland's Paul McGrath, a player with R9's knee problem over which Man Utd tried to make hi retire so they wouldn't have to come up against him. Many recognise his heroics against Italy as one of the best defensive performances of all time. He shared the pitch with Maldini and Baresi and outplayed them on every scale. A for Sol Campbell, nothing special and, according to himself, not quick at all. EA give him over 80 pace on all his cards. Nice. Ian Wright may cry on tv and may have had a tough life, but his PL scoring record is mediocre and comes in at 20th in the all time list. Above him is a certain Robbie (not Roy) Keane, who only played a portion of his playing days in England, compared to Ian Wright's entire career there. Fi that EA.
Now, as for my Keane review, I just wanted to point out that in his prime, he was one of United's fastest players. This is his prime card, but it has 72 pace. Nice. But anyway, he feels quick enough. He's small enough to feel fast with a chem boost, but no ideal for chasing down rapid strikers and wingers. I have him on stay back, which is ideal. An opponent would try a counter attack, but Keane just sweeps out, cleans up the ball with banging tackles. For opponent counters, I don't need to use Varane of Freeze Casemiro. Keane does it all. As a result, I can use Fernandes POTM as my other CM. Keane provides that much defensive cover that bruno only has to make 1or 2 tackles a game, with loads of attacking freedom. As a result, I win much more games with practically an extra attacker and no need to move CBs out of position. I don't care if people say he's not ''meta'' because he's not Kante. I played with them both at the same time and Keane outshined him, and I realised I could play without two out and out CDMs, something I couldn't do with Kante because of how important the Icon factor is in this situation.
So stop with these fake ideas and just do the SBC.
- Defensive positioning and interceptions-always at the right place at the right time.
- Always comes away with the ball, making crunching tackles.
- Makes very few fouls due to high defending.
- Stamina means he can do his thing all game.
- Top class passing to start counters.
- Not as rapid but still gets by.
- Has let me down in front of goal on the rare occasion I've shot with him.
