89 - What If Obj
Caputo has been infamous within the FIFA community in recent months, as people were begging for him to get a TOTY; and here we EA have answered our prayers!
Looking at the card stats many would say he's a bit underwhelming, and other Serie A strikers compare and even outdo him on many fronts. But, here is the overview of my limited time with this card. (Note, I am a div 5 player; I know! Shocking!)
For starters, the card is incredibly easy to get a hold of, play for a couple of hours or afk the matches and you will have him in no time at all.
I truly believe that Sassuolo will score the needed goals for the upgrade to take place, but already it's a fine card.
I went for a Hunter on the card itself, as he needs the pace without the upgrade.
- Caputo has an amazing body type (high and lean) which makes him very agile and glides around in attack.
- His dribbling feels good. Nothing more, nothing less. 3* skill moves were a big put off for me but as a target man in a 442/4222 he works fine. Better off the ball than on the ball.
- Shooting is a weird one, he has times were he feels Immobile and others like using a gold Muriel. I feel the needed cem style for this card is a hunter, as his shot power is heavily lacking. But combined with the finesse shot trait he works very well.
- He is rather strong, he manages to keep defenders off the ball; but his defence makes him not being able to rewin it if he loses it.
- Amazing jumping and amazing headers. Feels even better than Lautaro Martinez's
- The biggest surprise was his passing, as he feels good to play through balls with (I play flashback Dybala as my second striker) But the long passing isn't the greatest I've seen
- This man's work rates for a striker are just amazing. The High Low makes him always lay high and always looking to break through the lines.
Conclusion:
Caputo works great as a target man in a 2 striker formation, but I struggled with him performing in a 4231 for some reason. Linking up with Dybala he makes a great partnership, and two free-roaming cam's in a 4222 work well. Ideally, you want a hunter on the card, for now, to make him faster, but if he gets a 2+ upgrade I would consider giving him an engine.
He might not have the finishing of Immobile, nor the agility of freeze Martinez. But he is a cult legend and you get an amazing card for the best possible price. The link to Tonali and El Shaarawy is simply mouthwatering.
- get. this. card.
- Good body type and movement around the box
- Perfect forward runs and work rates (this makes his lack of stamina rather obsolete)
- Good shooting, but needs a boost with a hunter (before the upgrade)
- Good physically and on crosses, great headers and jumping
- Decent through balls, but please don't try any Pirlo passes
- *good* dribbling, better off the ball than on the ball.
- 3-star skill moves hurts my soul
- Composure when finishing
- Shot Power / Shooting outside the box
