Bought Martinez for 160,000. Let me tell you he's a monster I played 3 Games with him in and he already has 7 goals and 3 assist. I played with his gold card at the beginning of the year and he felt very Clunky. But this Inform with a Hunter Chem style makes him a beast with 96 accelerating and 95 sprint speed helps him run pass the defense. His High/Medium work rate makes him feel like he really helps out the team. His upgraded agility makes his movements so fluid and his 86 strength helps him push of defenders.

Prologue: After stable Gold 3/ Gold 2 finishes without stressing myself too much in the Weekend Leagues before, I was searching for a striker (who’s name is not Cristiano Ronaldo) out of Seria A to link the new acquisition of Story Andres Tello (slightly worse Renato for free in my opinion, love him!) in my squad.

With no luck yet in red picks I bought IF Lautaro for 168k coins (while writing this he’s dropping around 125k rn) and tested some Rivals game with him.

Main Stage:

Obviously he was so good I kept the team for the WL and boy did he deliver. In 21 WL games he dropped 17 goals and 11 assists, claiming 4 MVPs.

In my eyes he is very playable and fits the meta pretty well in the latest patch. With a Hunter Chem-Style he has nearly blistering pace und is consistent on both feet in front of goal, in addition every attempted volley (after low crosses especially) were ripping the net apart nearly. (Insert ZwebackHD Rocket Sound) Needless to mention his formidable positioning, can’t remember much scenes where he didn’t pick the right route or position to score or create space.

Small frame, agile dribbling stats and feeling feel really suited on him and as a ST he can make the needed passes and 1-2s, sick half pitch long balls through Varane and van Dijk he’s not capable to do, but isn’t needed either. 4*+ WF is essential, 4* SM not that much cause I don’t skill with Elasticos etc.

What makes this card special for me and stands out if you look at his card, are his superb physical stats, especially the aggression I noticed quite often surprisingly when he pressed the CBs or even the GK. (cheers Peter Schmeichel in one of the games, who channeled his inner Manuel Neuer or van der Sar and failed hilariously)

Base 86 strength holds off even the biggest defensive threats on most occasions, 90% the time it were Varane, Gomez and/or van Dijk...

On the other hand I didn’t notice his quite sick heading stats (incl. Power Header Trait), not only his fault because I think EA decreased the effectiveness of corners with every patch. (Remember the start/early phase of the game were IF Delaney scored headers EVERY corner LOL)

Links are (if at all) “okay” cause Seria A, Inter and Argentina as the nation.

Conclusion: For this price like most of the Seria A Cards a bargain and he will decrease in price more until the next TOTW drops. He really is 100% ST card, don’t even dare to use him as a winger. My guess is that he’d be invisible.

Linkability is a minor problem, doesn’t fit in most of the meta squads.

Absolut recommendation until TOTY, not a complete meta whore and he’s just fun to play with.

Played IF Martinez up top this weekend league, he was an absolute goal machine for me. Offered everything you need up front; pace, power, finishing and a certain amount of aggression. Game in at game 10 and finished game 29 with 26 goals, his dribbling is very good, finishing is excellent and he is great at getting in behind. Defo worth picking up if you run Serie A.

This guy played as a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation and i can say that he did not disappoint. His finishing was excellent on his left and right foot and he always seemed to be in the perfect place in and around the box. His dribbling was phenomenal twisting and turning making it impossible for defenders to take the ball of him and making him so effective in tight spaces. His passing was surprisingly good getting 5 assists in 6 games and scoring 7 and for 90-100k this card is an absolute steal. Would 100% recommend this card if youre looking for a Serie A striker.

Lautaro has been probably my favorite striker so far this game, aside from him I had gold Anthony Martial with about 300 games, 450 goals and 100 assists. I put Lautaro over him for his extra physicality.

He is a really unique type of player and I don't think there is anyone really like him on the game. The closest I've felt to him might be a bit outrageous but it's FIFA 20 TOTS CR7 - Hear me out - It's because of his strength holding off the defenders and his shooting is really powerful and accurate
