John stones has been solid if not perfect for me since I brought him in to my team. Before him I had Cordoba and I was a bit worried that he wouldn't be as good as him. But he impressed me, I used him in the last five games of the weekend league where I won 3 out 5 (16-4) and in the qualification games(9-1). He has also been very good in my climb back to the Elite Division. And oh boy he is good, he is perfect in every way except when you come up against someone who runs in circles because of his agility and balance. He easily keeps up with Neymar, Messi, CR7, Vinicius JR, Mbappe(except TOTY), R9, Eusebio and many more. I haven't conceded a goal from a header yet which was becoming a problem with Cordoba. Another big plus is his four star weak foot that makes him unpredictable when playing out from the back. He is always in the right place at the right time which was also very important because I play a 4-1-2-1-2 wide in game. So there is no place for mistakes defensively on counter attacks because I only have one DM.
I would say that he is worth every penny if you're planning on upgrading your defense and he can easily get in many squads with his Premier League and English links.
In the end I can say that he was the missing part of my team, he shines even though he plays beside Ruben Dias TOTY, Cancelo and Walker.
John Stones isn't talked about enough. Yes, he's currently 530K but that doesn't change the fact that he is already a very good CB and is basically a 93 rated TOTS level card waiting to happen. (Unless Manchester city seriously fumble the bag which is pretty unlikely.) Moving on.
I've played around 70-100 games with him and he's been great as the LCB in a back four (see squad link.) He doesn't make those dumb automated tackles in the box that cause penalties, and when you are controlling him. he's great at winning the ball cleanly. Bounceback challenges rarely happen with him as well. His 4* weak foot makes him difficult to press and he can pivot quickly and make a good crisp pass of any kind. (Something I find very important.) His workrates look strangely formatted but it's really not so bad. All it means is that he's slightly more aggressive and it's never been a problem for me. He's rarely out of position and if so, he does have the speed to catch up to the attacker. Overall, I'm happy with John Stones and will keep him until there is a top tier prem CB with over 94 acceleration and sprint speed.
His height combined with very solid physical stats make it difficult for the opponent to match him in aerial duels as well as shoulder to shoulder. His long legs are great for winning the ball back.
The pace looks worse on paper than it is in game. Smooth acceleration and gets to 99 sprint speed before the attacker is in a dangerous area.
Passing (especially short passing) is phenomenal.
The 4* weak foot is so so good because when I pass with him, it basically makes no difference which foot he plays the ball with. It's nice to have it for the dribbling as well.
Body type while on the ball: He's a bit awkward to maneuver if you want to make sharp turns. It's like a large flat rectangle.
Long diagonal switch passing is good but sometimes the ball is a little slow in the air. Usually not a problem but with CL MOTM VVD that doesn't happen. Good but not fantastic. Every other type of pass with him is fantastic though.
Stones is one of the most underrated players in FIFA for me. He's an outstanding IV, one of the best. for ''only'' 400K it is very cheap for its performance. You can link him wonderfully with Cancelo TOTY and De Bruyne TOTY. I play it together with Ramoss in IV.
and I have to say that the two complement each other so well that it is very difficult for my opponents to get through.
in connection with Hakimi and cancelo.
after you have conquered the ball you can stay on the ball with him and dribble around his opponents, he does this very well.
To be honest, I find him very thin behind Varane or Ramoss.
if he gets a 2 or 3 point upgrade, he is no longer inferior to the two.
