Dušan Vlahovic. Another follow up on a card that was reviewed earlier in the year. If you were following the reviews in February you will remember our look at the Juve man and just how potent that card was. Vlahovic had the pace to outstrip most defenders and a wand of a left foot that racked up the goals. The hope this weekend was that Vlahovic had received the adequate boosts to run it back and fill the net on the journey through a true sweatfest. I don’t know what is in the water bottles atthe Weekend League stadium, but there are some absolute demons playing some of the sweatiest FIFA I have encountered of late. Truthfully, this might have affected this weekend’s review even more so than the quality of the players themselves, as it certainly wasn’t gameplay and tactics for the faint at heart. There were matches where I swear I was up against the 300 as they protected their goal as if their lives, wives and children depended on it. There were not any freebies this weekend and the test of attrition helped expose those lacking and catapult those willing to go to war themselves. With my team created it was a run through the 4-2-2-2 this weekend as Vlahovic led the line with the aid of the ENGINE chemistry style. The stage was set, the job was clear, as Vlahovic led the troops into battle all weekend long in the following squad:
Complete and total letdown, but I wasn’t really surprised. The price of this card was already on a steady decline (even by FIFA 22 standards) by the time I tested him and the game just simply isn’t kind to this type of player at this stage. I was holding out hope that this card could somehow compete with his sheer pace, size and strength… but that hope was pretty quickly dashed as the likes of Varane and co. simply proved too quick and agile.
Main Statistics - Shooting
Shooting Rating: 9/10 Weak Foot: ★★★★
So why the 7/10 overall despite a pretty abysmal performance? The answer lies in the Shooting category which is quite potent when you can find the space to utilize it. Essentially what I am saying is that if you are a superior player to myself or your style suits a potent finisher who simply needs to bang in the goals without creating them… then this card has some serious upside for your squad. The 99 FINISHING & 98 SHOT POWER on that cultured left foot is something of beauty when they combine to find the top bins. The 4 STAR WEAK FOOT is quite solid as well and didn’t really let me down throughout the weekend. There is certainly a poacher hidden in this card and at a truly bargain price if he is producing.
Main Attribute - Height & Good vs. Bad
Good vs Bad Rating: 3/5
Height: 190cm | 6’3
Simply had to combine these two for this review as it is both the “99 STRENGTH” and weakness of this card on the whole. The size of this card is ultimately what drove the pace in the Future Stars version but has ultimately let the Serbian down on this installment of the card. The 99 ACCELERATION is laughable, especially when boosting out of dribbles… while the 99 SPRINT SPEED is not as far off but not to the levels of what it could be. TOTS Haaland continues to show that there are opportunities for bigger cards to still fly around the pitch, but not in this case.
Continuing on the size theme it was also the nail in the dribbling coffin… Ultimately rendering the 98 AGILITY & 99 BALANCE useless in tight spaces. The whole ordeal was just compounded by the hornets nest of defenders I was facing and really limited the opportunities to utilize the previously mentioned quality finishing. Realistically there was still a light at the end of the tunnel for this card… based on the 4-2-2-2 formation and the number of bodies I am sending into the box offensively, there were still opportunities to create goals and contribute… But even the passing with this card was on tilt. Maybe I was forcing it a bit with the frustration of the roadblocks set up in my path… Yet there were other cards in the squad still finding those killer passes, which only highlighted Vlahovic’s deficiencies.
Value/Coins
Value/Coins Rating: 2.5/5
I stand by my 7/10 rating despite the rather negative review… There were moments when Vlahovic, on his left, was key to my success. The big Serbian contributed a few goals that would go on and help push the squad towards 14 wins and the highly sought after TOTS pack. He may not have been everything I expected but wasn’t a complete write off either. The problem is, there are 8/10 and even 9/10 cards at this point in the cycle that you can pick up for cheaper than the 250k you are paying for this card. It is truly what sinks Vlahovic as a viable option, not his qualities on the pitch.
Closing Words
Unrealized Dreams… the title for this review and the expectations that I had for Vlahovic going in. On the surface, I felt he just might have the quality to edge the competition and lead the way this weekend… but the true story often lies beneath the surface, and in this case, it was rather underwhelming. There is a goal scorer in this card and that can’t be ignored when rating the overall performances… but there is just simply no goal creation coming from Vlahovic and why you won’t see much of the big man moving forward. Hoping the red pick Gods treated you well this weekend, and hoping you are safe and well. Cheers for reading.
i got him in my red picks so decided to use him in champs qualifiers ,I used him as a ST in a 4231 narrow. Surprisingly, in the box his left stick dribbling wasn't awful and could dribble the ball in space but when he did get into space he almost never missed. His attack positioning was especially good he was able to recieve a lot of through balls and crosses due to his tall height and high physical. But overall i think he is a good number 9 type player and i recommend trying him.
(Sorry for my english)I got Vlahovic in red this FUT CHAMPIONS. I put him in my squad by selling Bale (RTTF) and I've been surprised how good he is. He's possibly the best big and tall striker I've tried this year, above Haaland or Ibra. His price is ridiculous for how good he is. When he receives with his back to the box, for his height he turns very well, and the shot is practically a goal almost 100% of the time. I didn't plan to play with him, but after trying him I have already played 36 games between qualifiers and Division 1. He has scored 33 goals and 22 assist in 36 games playing with the 4-1-2-1-2-2(2) (https://www.futbin.com/22/squad/8201333) change in game...together with Eusebio and Kaka. I think it is key to put Vlahovic next to a small and very agile striker like Ben Yedder or icons like Eusebio or Butrageño, and the cocktel is perfect. The stats in this card are not false at all. Being very big he will never look like a short player with the same stats, but with the strength and physicality he has on the run he is very hard to stop.
-Very agile for its height
-Faster than Haaland or other TOTS with the same stats and height (not fake stats, very important)
-His shot is 99% time goal
-Very hard to stop body vs body, even If you play against have VVD or Militao.
-Price
-Nation and league (need icons or Cuadrado/ Savic)
-Need an smaller/s St,Cam or wings next to him (not a ST playmaker at all)
-5 WK maybe...(but didn't notice in game too much)
I got him from my 80+ x10 Serie A pack and decided to try him for my Champs qualifiers and some Rivals games and he was such a beast I decided to review him. His two most amazing attributes are his shooting and his headers. Give him the ball in the box and he will score wherever he is, powerful and precise maybe the best shooting I've seen this year couple it with a perfect positioning and you have the ultimate 9 player. I you love crossing he is your guy he can win every single aerial duel, corner kicks will become your best friends. His physical and strenght are amazing too defenders will have nightmares to get the ball back. Dribbling is suprisingly great he can turn pretty fast but he's not the best in little spaces, use an engine to max out agikity and balance. HIs passing is okay but he is clearly not a playmaker, I recommand you to play him next to an agile striker or little and pacy wingers. Overall I loved playing with him and for his price he is a very great pick for your offense, he is maybe the best tall striker in the game !
After struggling for ages to find a good Serie A attacker to be my primary striker, I've finally found an absolute beast in the form of Dusan Vlahovic.
Having gone through TOTS Osimhen who was crap, TOTS Berardi who was also crap and resorting to using EOAE Insigne as a ST (bad idea), this guy has saved me. I use him in a two striker formation next to TOTS Pellegrini who functions as a second striker and it works brilliantly. I feel he's best with another striker to play off, though he worked well for me in a 4-2-3-1 as a lone striker as well.
Pace
Pace felt a lot better than expected. I expected him to feel a little slow because of the height+body type combo but it feels 99, even without a boost.
Shooting
Shooting is utterly deadly. I use him on finisher to boost his volleys a bit and I find it has made a positive difference. WF shooting is brilliant too.
Dribbling
Dribbling is the biggest surprise for me- I expected him to be clunky and unresponsive but he's anything but. Feels surprisingly smooth on the ball and can actually dribble past defenders really well. Don't expect some R9 dribbling but for his size his dribbling is fantastic.
Physicality
Physicality is a tiny bit underwhelming. Headers are great but he doesn't quite feel like he has 99 strength. This could be a good thing though, as his dribbling would likely feel crap if he did. 99 Stamina is brilliant though
Passing
Passing is okay but nothing amazing. Engine makes a big positive difference to this though if that matters to you a lot, though personally I use him like a target man so this isn't a big issue to me
Overall
Overall, if you're looking for a big striker, capable in the air with lethal finishing then this is your guy. He's fast, surprisingly great on the ball, and has an utterly lethal finish with his head or either foot. I'd advise using on Finisher to max out the agility and volleys, though Engine is a good shout too. Another benefit to this card is I find him super consistent. Many cards I've had seem to be great one game and crap the next- this guy is Mr Consistent for me. 100% recommend.
