After much consideration, I brought the General - as Puskas is lovingly called in local lingo - into my team. I had enough coins and in this year's market the absolute top icons remain almost out of reach for most. But Puskas still brings that certain something that makes you play Fifa again with more joy and passion. The player stats look incredibly good, especially thanks to his 3* Weakfoot at a very good price.
While we're on the subject, which probably causes everyone some stomach ache, his weak foot. I can immediately reassure you that his weak foot is noticeable, but not at all an obstacle during the game. Puskas has a left foot that is not matched by anyone close in this game. The balls simply fly into the goal when he is in a good, or not so good, shooting position. I have never had that with any other player. At the same time, his ridiculously good offensive play always puts him in a good position and makes him a sweaty nightmare for the opponent. When Puskas has the ball, he either dribbles past the player (best left stick dribbling), plays a dream pass to a free teammate or shoots the ball dryly and humorlessly into the goal.
Puskas' movements are tremendously smooth, not like Messi, but very similar. Puskas has an enormously low center of gravity, thanks to his bulky body type. This looks very funny. The fun stops quickly for the opponent, because - although he doesn't have that much strength - he is almost impossible to separate from the ball. In 50/50 ball bouncing situations he almost always manages to claim the ball.
Puskas has given my team an enormous amount of unpredictability and playfulness. He costs a lot of money, but for me he is well worth it at this point. Thanks to Puskas, it's no longer just Mbappé who scores goals for my team.
+ Shooting! This is not even seen on most TOTS cards. You have to have experienced it yourself. With Puskas in a good shooting position you have the confidence, as with a Porsche 911 GT2 Rs on the German Autobahn. 10/10
+ Supreme passing. Puskas has the ability to make a deadly pass in tight situations and spaces. Crosses and hard passes are also a piece of cake with him. 9.2/10
+His dribbling is one of the best in the game. In combination with his body type and the little bit of strength he is made for your left stick. 9/10
– The physicality of Puskas is not bad, but of course no comparison to Cantona or Lukaku. But he is physically more sturdy than Messi or Mbappé. 6.9/10
– It's not really a Con, but Puskas takes a little moment when receiving the ball, once it's over he's almost impossible to separate from the ball. Of course, this can also depend on gameplay.
– In tight situations, a finish with the weak foot is not a guaranteed success. But you learn to deal with Puskas. When you play with two strikers, on the left Puskas can almost completely avoid his weak foot. But his weak foot is about the same level as Mbappé's, which is probably due to the good shooting stats.
