TOTY Van der Sar is undoubtedly the best keeper in FIFA 23. Never had the coins to actually buy the card so I'm always using his loan. This card makes 10+ saves every single game, most being game winning or keeping me in the game.
Diving: This card is exceptional at reaching those top shots while also getting down low for those low shots. He is genuinely a brick wall.
Handling: Probably the only weakness of this card. Doesn't catch majority of shots but if you bring him out on corners, he will catch them pretty much guaranteed.
Kicking: Not something I really use so I can't really comment on but it feels the same for nearly every goalkeeper.
Reflexes: Van der Sar's ability to get to those low shots and top corners at an insanely rapid pace makes this the best part of his game. I have never seen a keeper reach a shot so fast going into the corner in my entire existence.
Speed: Nothing really to mention here other than its pretty much similar to most goalkeepers.
Positioning: This card is always in the right place at the right time, however, he does sometimes like to wander off his line a bit when opponents are on the edge of the box which leaves him vulnerable to those glitchy, outside the foot shots.
End: At the time of writing, this card sits at 432,000 coins. He is a bit on the pricey side when it comes to goalkeepers but in FIFA, money talks and even though you probably could build a team for the price of him, his signing will be very impactful on your club.
Another note, I only used a basic on him as every other chemistry style just never felt right.

When first looking at this card you would think he is one of the best goalkeepers in the game but after testing him in weekend league and division rivals I must say he is not living up to his huge price tag, and you should not waste your coins on him no matter how delicious he might seem.
I tried him with every chemistry styles available for goalkeepers, but this is changing anything about him, he stays bad every time.
He sometimes got like one or two good moments, but the other 99 times he is worse than a bronze striker playing in goal. He seems to be fearing the ball sometimes and therefore creates so many challenges for your opponents to score from. I want to stress, he is less likely to move towards your opponents shots than scoring a goal. That's how worse he played for me. To sum this all up he is so underwhelming that you should stay as far away from buying this cards as possible.
The only thing he is sometimes good at is saving penalties, but this is just because he is so tall.
Quite literally everything you want from a goalkeeper:
won't catch balls
does horrible goal kicks
moves in the most random ways to jump or balls
can't catch ball coming in from outside the box
seems not to have any knowledge of goalkeeping
Van der Sar. My alltime favorite goalkeeper, as I am a dutchman. You can imagine the thrill I've felt when I packed him.He's even my first ever pack-pulled icon. My goalkeeper untill the end of fifa, right?
Well... He underperformed so far. In the first 10 games he has saved only 5 shots, which were all in the same game in which he went banana's. He is so seeems to love to take every ball from the net I don't even count on him making any saves. I'm hesitating to put gold Courtois back into the team because that guy was actually good. Giant leaps towards the post, quick to the ground. Van der Sar looks like he's lagging, always a second late or even dives out of the way.
If you have him untradable like me you might as well use him but no way in hell he's worth 720k. I'd invest that elsewhere. If you have any succes with him, please share. I'd love to make Van der Sar work in goal but this has been the biggest disappointment ever.
